LAKELAND -- Mr. Joseph Ray Perrin of Lakeland died of lung failure Wednesday (Dec. 1, 2004) at Florida Presbyterian Homes Nursing Home. He was 81.
Born in Ponchatoula, La., on Aug. 16, 1923, he came to Lakeland from Bartow four years ago. He was a chemist for Estech and Swift and Co. He was a former member of the Bartow Public Library Board. He graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in chemistry. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lakeland and was a founding parishioner of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Bartow.
Mr. Perrin is survived by his wife, Sue Perrin; son, Gene Perrin, Bristol, Tenn., John Perrin, Panama City; daughter, Susanna Merritt, Tampa; sister, Edna Perrin, Ponchatoula; brother, Pat Perin, Shreveport, La.; five grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 E. Main St., Bartow. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 2180 S. Kissingen Ave., Bartow.

WINTER HAVEN -- Mrs. Beulah Jackson of Winter Haven died Monday (Nov. 29, 2004) at Good Shepherd Hospice. She was 56.

WINTER HAVEN -- Mrs. Mable H. Anderson of Winter Haven died of lung failure Wednesday (Dec. 1, 2004) at Winter Haven Hospital. She was 85.
Born in Brooks County, Ga., on April 11, 1919, she returned to Winter Haven from Sylva, N.C., in 1989. She worked at GTE in Winter Haven. She was a member of Inwood Baptist Church in Winter Haven.
Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Anderson. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra A. Thompson, Dundee; son, Richard M. Anderson, Newport News, Va.; sister, Frances Weeks, Pavo, Ga.; brothers, Robert Humphrey, Lake City, Ronald Humphrey, Pavo; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, 2198 K-Ville Ave., Auburndale. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel.

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. -- Mrs. Virginia Reed Walkup Wilkins of Morgantown, W. Va., a winter resident of Polk City, died of an aneurysm Wednesday (Dec. 1, 2004) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. She was 84.
Born in Marlington, W. Va., on Sept. 18, 1920, she became a winter resident of Polk City in 1989, coming from Morgantown, W. Va. She was a homemaker. She was past president of the West Virginia State Garden Club. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Morgantown.
Mrs. Wilkins was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Andrew Wilkins. She is survived by her son, R. Andrew Wilkins II, Morgantown; daughter, Audrey Wilkins Bertram, Columbus, Ohio; brother, John Joseph Walkup Jr., Renick, W.Va.; two grandchildren.

PLANT CITY -- Mr. James O. West of Plant City died of a heart attack Tuesday (Nov. 30, 2004) in Plant City. He was 69.
Born in Simpson County, Ky., on May 9, 1935, he was a longtime resident of Plant City. He was an automobile mechanic.
Mr. West is survived by his wife, Gwen West; mother, Annie Bell West, Plant City; daughter, Linda Peacock, Knoxville, Tenn.; son, Gary West, Henagar, Ala.; brothers, Lee West, Plant City, Jack West, and Larry West, both of Lakeland; sisters, June Miley, Lakeland, Brenda Womble, Ormond Beach; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren.

WINTER HAVEN -- Mr. James Edward Hunt Sr. of Winter Haven died of heart failure Tuesday (Nov. 30, 2004) in Winter Haven. He was 82.
Born in Mishawaka, Ind., on Nov. 11, 1922, he came to Winter Haven from there in 1963. He was a retired letter carrier for the United States Postal Service. He was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 8 in Winter Haven. He was a member of Faith Ministries in Lakeland.
Mr. Hunt is survived by his wife, Virginia E. Hunt; daughters, Patricia D. Parker, Joyce Murdoch, Mary Susan Gilkey, all of Winter Haven, Charlene Childs, Lavonia, Ga.; sons, James Edward Hunt Jr., John Edwin Hunt, both of Winter Haven; sister, Mary Howland, Mishawaka; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 2425 W. Havendale Blvd., Winter Haven.

WINTER HAVEN -- Mr. Jason Allen Edgerton of Winter Haven died of asphyxiation Nov. 25, 2004, at home. He was 25.
Born in Bartow on Oct. 23, 1979, he was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a cook.

LAKE WALES -- Mr. Clarence Lloyd of Lake Wales died of cancer Tuesday (Nov. Nov. 30, 2004) at Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center in Davenport. He was 88.
Born in Caryville, Tenn., on Nov. 11, 1916, he came to Lake Wales from Knoxville, Tenn., 17 years ago. He was a maintenance engineer for Sears for 26 years. He was a 50-year member of the Masons. He was a Methodist.
Mr. Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife, Lllian Lloyd. He is survived by his sister, Florence Bergeson, St. Petersburg; brothers, Everette Lloyd, La Follette, Tenn., Robert L. Lloyd, Jacksboro, Tenn.; companion, Phyllis Leming, Lake Wales.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home, 322 N. Scenic Highway, Lake Wales. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Knoxville.
