WINTER HAVEN -- Mrs. Jewel Sheppard Mincey of Winter Haven died of complications following a stroke Tuesday (Dec. 7, 2004) at Auburndale Oaks. She was 80.
Born in Winter Haven on April 12, 1924, she was a lifelong resident. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Inman Park Baptist Church.
Mrs. Mincey is survived by her husband of 60 years, W.W. Mincey; son, Jerry I. Mincey, Winter Haven; sisters, Opal Felber, Bartow, Pearl Mitchell, Winter Haven; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
A gathering of friends will be at noon Saturday at the home of Jerry and Lynnis Mincey, 512 Lake Mariam Terrace, Winter Haven.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Inman Park Baptist Church, or a charity of your choice.

BARTOW -- Mr. Jackie E. Miller of Bartow died Friday (Dec. 3, 2004) in Bartow. The cause of death is pending autopsy results. He was 60.
Born in Lynchburg, S.C., on Aug. 13, 1944, he came to Bartow from there nine years ago. He was a construction laborer.
Mr. Miller is survived by his son, Edward Miller, Lynchburg, and brothers, Willie Durant, Bartow, James Fullard, Lynchburg.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Home, Bartow. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel.

HAINES CITY -- Mrs. Rosa Martinez of Haines City died of heart failure Monday (Dec. 6, 2004) in Davenport. She was 81.
Born in Mercedes, Texas, on Aug. 31, 1923, she came to Haines City from there in 2003. She was a homemaker. She was a Catholic.
Mrs. Martinez was preceded in death by her husband, Raymundo Samilpa. She is survived by her sons, Ramiro Martinez, Mercedes, Reynaldo Samilpa, Abiline, Texas; daughter, Estella Jimenez, Haines City; brother, Nicolas Martinez, Little Rock, Ark.; sisters, Epifania Martinez, Haines City, Eufracia Gonzalez, Mercedes; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 1001 Grace Ave., Haines City. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Ann Catholic Church, 1265 Robinson Drive, Haines City. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Haines City.
LEVY JACKSON, 72
CINCINNATI -- Mr. Levy Jackson Jr. of Cincinnati, formerly of Haines City, died of complications following a stroke Dec. 2, 2004. He was 72.
Mr. Jackson is survived by his children, Ernestine Lowery, and Kim Reeves; siblings, Anna Lee, Christine, Jerry, Willie Mae, Cherry and Lula Jackson, and Eric Storey; two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Jon Deitloff Funeral Center, 4389 Spring Grove Ave., Cincinnati. Burial will follow in Baltimore Pike Cemetery.

LAKELAND -- Mr. John Richard Holt of Lakeland died of cancer Nov. 27, 2004, at Valencia Hills Health and Rehab Center in Lakeland. He was 50.
He was born in Charlottsville, Va. He was a construction worker.

BARTOW -- Mr. John "Charles" Hales of Bartow died of cancer Tuesday (Dec. 7, 2004) at his daughter's home. He was 64.
Born in Blountstown on Jan. 21, 1940, he came to Polk County from there in 1947. He was a service manager in the propane industry.
Mr. Hales is survived by his wife, Hellen Hales; sons, Tony Hales, Lake Wales, Tim Hales, Bartow; daughter, Trena McClain, Auburndale; sister, Yvonne Hudson Cribbs, Winter Haven; five grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at Kersey Funeral Home, 108 E. Lake Stella Drive, Auburndale. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel.

LAKELAND -- Mr. Freddie Lee Hadley Jr. of Lakeland died of cancer Saturday (Dec. 4, 2004) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was 37.
Born in Elizabeth, N.J., he came to Lakeland from New Jersey, in 1980. He was a cardiac monitor technician at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, where he was a cardiac monitor team leader and employee of the month. He was a certified PCA. He attended the University of South Florida.
Mr. Hadley is survived by his mother, Glady Hadley, Lake City; father, Freddie L. Hadley Sr., Lake City; brother, Edward James Hadley, Lakeland; sisters, Sheryl Ann Hadley, Nicole Hadley, Sandra Hadley, all of Lakeland; and stepson, Alex Sanders, Lakeland.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Born in Thailand on Aug. 10, 1951, she came to Lakeland from there 30 years ago. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Griggs is survived by her husband Sounthone Ouppasene; sons, Joshua Griggs, Lakeland, Scott Griggs, James Graham, California, Thomas Graham, Washington; sisters, Labeub Kardkew, California, Ting Tracey, Pe Bounmy, Evelyn Vallandingsham, Nang Bounmy, all of Lakeland; three grandchildren.

Born in Lakeland on April 26, 1928, he was a lifelong resident. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Mr. Dunn is survived by his sisters, Frances D. Nicholson, Lakeland, Doris D. Robbins, St. Petersburg.
