LAKELAND -- Mr. Clyde L. Creech Sr. of Lakeland died of heart failure Sunday (Aug. 22, 2004) at his home. He was 92.
Born Nov. 20, 1911, in Owsley County, Ky., he came here from Liberty, Ind. in 1992. He was a bank guard and superintendent in construction.
Mr. Creech is survived by his son, Clyde Creech Jr., Lakeland; daughter, Ellen J. Balsley, Lakeland; brother, Ralph Creech, Michigan; sister, Christine Chalmers, Indiana; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be in Liberty, Ind.

WILLOW OAK -- Mrs. Louise D. Sparks of Willow Oak died of heart failure Friday (Aug. 20, 2004) at Athens Regional Medical Center. She was 85.
Born Oct. 1, 1918, in Canebrake, W.V., she came here from North Tazewell, Va. 22 years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Willow Oak Baptist Church.
Mrs. Sparks was preceded in death by her husband, John Sparks, Jr. She is survived by her son, John Sparks III, Willow Oak; brother, Ronald Davis, Abbs Valley, Va.; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Seigler Funeral Home, Mulberry. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Willow Oak Baptist Church.
ANNIE WIGGINS-CAMPBELL, 59

LAKELAND -- Mrs. Annie Clyde Wiggins-Campbell of Lakeland died of heart failure Tuesday (Aug. 17, 2004) at St. Vincent Medical Center, Jacksonville. She was 59.
Born in Sylvania, Ga., she came here from Sylvania 40 years ago. She was a certified nurse's assistant for Tandem Health Care at Lake Parker. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church.
Mrs. Wiggins-Campbell is survived by her daughters, Susan Bentley-Otis, Jacksonville, Sharon Campbell, Lakeland; sons, William Campbell, Chicago, Ill, James Edward Campbell and Anthony Campbell, both of Lakeland; daughter, Millisa Campbell, Lakeland; sisters, Josie Lee and Liz White, both of Lakeland, Bertha Tisdale, Miami, Martha Montgomery, Colquit, Ga.; brothers, James Wiggins, Lamar Wiggins, Jake Wiggins and Roosevelt Wiggins, all of Georgia; and 14 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Coney Funeral Parlor Chapel. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Greater Refuge Church of Our Lord.
FRANCIS BARTON, 90

LAKELAND -- Mr. Francis W. Barton of Lakeland died of congestive heart failure Saturday (Aug. 21, 2004) at Tandem Healthcare of Lakeland. He was 90.
Born Jan. 31, 1914, in Boonville, Ind., he came here from Boonville in 1994. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, serving in the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. He was a barber. He was a member of the Indiana Professional Art Guild and Lake Gibson Church of the Nazarene.
Mr. Barton is survived by his wife, Ruby M. Barton; son, Mike Barton, Lakeland; daughter, Joyce Wheeler, Fort Wayne, Ind., Linda Henson, Nassau, Bahamas; sister, Esther Garrison, Otwell, Ind.; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, Northside Chapel. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
SYBIL BOOTH, 89

PLANT CITY -- Mrs. Sybil J. Booth of Plant City died of heart failure Saturday (Aug. 21, 2004). She was 89.
Born Oct. 6, 1914, in Sladesville, N.C., she came here from Gainesville in 1991. She was an X-ray technician. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Plant City.
Mrs. Booth is survived by her husband; two nieces; and two nephews.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Haught Funeral Home Chapel, Plant City.
DARREL KISER, 81
PPG Industries
HAINES CITY -- Mr. Darrel R. Kiser of Haines City died of heart disease Friday (Aug. 13, 2004) in Haines City. He was 81.
Born in Kittanning, Pa., on Feb. 1, 1923, Mr. Kiser came to Haines City from Wichita Falls, Texas, in 1985. He worked as a supervisor for PPG Industries in Wichita Falls.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Cochranton, Pa., the Elks Lodge in Kittanning, Pa., and St. Luke United Church of Christ in Kittanning.
Mr. Kiser is survived by his wife of 61 years, Pauline J. Kiser; son, Darrel R. Kiser Jr., Davenport; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estate in Kittanning.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke United Church of Christ, 333 N. McKean St., Haines City.

JOHN LEITGEB, 85

DAVENPORT -- Mr. John F. Leitgeb of Davenport died of stomach cancer Friday (Aug. 20, 2004). He was 85.
Born Jan. 18, 1919, in Coplay, Pa., he came to Davenport from Woodside in Queens, N.Y., two years ago. He was a chauffeur for Rockefeller Center in Manhattan for 36 years. He was captain of the Bowling Club, Queens, N.Y.
Mr. Leitgeb is survived by his wife of 61 years, Louise Papendick Leitgeb; daughters, Maria Louise DeMateo, Long Island City, N.Y., and Ann Marie Phieffer, Davenport; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Services will be announced.

James Coker, 79, Coker Nursing and Sitter Agency
LAKE WALES -- During the 25 years that Mr. James E. "Jay" Coker served his country in the Army Air Corps and the Army, he participated in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.
The retired Army crew chief and tail gunner died of heart failure Thursday (June 3, 2004) at home. He was 79.
"He came home and we got married, " his wife, Willie L. Coker, said, describing her husband as a quiet, private type of man. The couple would have celebrated their 25th anniversary June 12.
Mr. Coker was born in Lakeland on Aug. 4, 1924, and grew up in Polk County. He was discharged from the Army in 1968 and returned to Polk County in 1977, living in Lake Wales.
He and his wife owned and operated Coker Nursing and Sitter Agency and Coker's Handi-Van businesses for eight years.
"We worked side by side sitting for the elderly and for other people. We had a contract with Polk County, " Willie Coker said.
In their retirement, the couple enjoyed fishing and traveled extensively. "We traveled to Central America, Mexico, England, the Bahamas, and we traveled across the United States two or three times -- up north two or three times -- just any place we decided to go, " Willie Coker said.
He was a member of the V.F.W. Post in Lake Wales and the Air Force Sergeants Association. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Coker was preceded in death by his first wife, Thelma Coker, in 1977. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Mildred Anita Mixon, Palm Beach Gardens; sons, Henry Coker, Welaka, James E. Mixon Jr., Las Vegas, Randall E. Nelson, Lake Charles, La., John Robert Mixon, West Palm Beach, Brian Steve Mixon, Lake Wales; brother, Frank Tucker, Lake Wales; sister, Marie Davis, Babson Park; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Marion Nelson Funeral Home of Lake Wales. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
