WINTER HAVEN -- Mr. Sylvester James of Winter Haven died of heart and lung disease Nov. 25, 2004, at Winter Haven Hospital. He was 92.
Born in Monticello on Feb. 17, 1912, he came to Jacksonville in 1934. He was a citrus caketaker. He was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Hurst Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Winter Haven.
Mr. James is survived by his wife, Annie Mae James; sons, Reuben James, Stone Mountain, Ga., Dr. Kenneth James, Winter Haven; stepdaughter, Katie Lawrence, Winter Haven; stepsons, James Denmark, Chicago, the Rev. Jerome L. Denmark, Orlando; 11 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Hurst Chapel AME Church, 875 Ave. O. N.E., Winter Haven. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

WARREN BOURASSA, 81

DAVENPORT -- Mr. Warren J. Bourassa of Davenport died of kidney failure Sunday (Dec. 5, 2004) at Heart of Florida Medical Center. He was 81.
He was born in Wyandotte, Mich., on Oct. 11, 1923. He was a retired business owner. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla, VFW and the American Legion. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a member of the Davenport Lions Club. He served on the board of directors of the Deer Creek UDI in Davenport. He attended the Davenport United Methodist Church.
Mr. Bourassa is survived by his wife, Jean Bourassa.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.

RONNIE ROWAN, 57

SOUTHPORT -- Bishop Ronnie Rowan of Southport, formerly of Lakeland, died of a heart attack Nov. 29, 2004. He was 57.
Born in Lakeland, he moved to the Panama City area 17 years ago. He was a full-time evangelist for the past 20 years, and served as the Church of God Northwest Florida district pastor for the past three years.
Bishop Rowan is survived by his wife, Betty Rowan; children, Christina Graboys, Angie Bowen, Melissa Rowan, Amanda Davenport, Johnathan Rowan; brothers, the Rev. Wendell Rowan, the Rev. Raymond Rowan; sisters, Carolyn Tedrow, Margaret Taylor, Letha Mae Kiefat, Jean Willis, Mary Joyce Thompson, Beverly Senn; seven grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Galloway Assembly of God.

DORIS TEANY, 95

LAKELAND -- Mrs. Doris Evelyn Wilson Teany of Lakeland died of heart failure Tuesday (Dec. 7, 2004) in Lenoir City, Tenn. She was 95.
Born in Terre Haute, Ind., on Jan. 12, 1909, she came to Lakeland from Cleveland 70 years ago. She was a retired school teacher for the Polk County School Board of more than 26 years, having taught second grade at Carlton Palmore Elementary School. She graduated from Indiana State University with a bachelor's degree in education. She was a member of the POE, Delta Kappa Gamma and the AAUW. She was an active member of the Lakeland Regional Medical Center Auxiliary. She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher.
Mrs. Teany was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Teany. She is survived by her son, Lt. Col. Gene Teany, Atlanta; daughter, Lorna L. Kolasheski, Loudon, Tenn.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lakeland Memorial Gardens.

BERNARD LOTSON, 65

LAKELAND -- Mr. Bernard Alphonso Lotson of Lakeland died of lung failure Saturday (Dec. 4, 2004) at home. He was 65.
Born on Oct. 14, 1939, he came to Lakeland from New Hampshire in 1945. He was a truck driver. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Lotson is survived by his wife, Kathy Lotson; daughters, Chellene Stephens, Sherri Ginn, Jackie Graham, all of Jacksonville, Tonya Epps, Georgia; sister, Bessie Butler, Georgia; six grandchildren.
Services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Florida National Cemetery.
