LAKELAND -- Mr. Virgil "Pop" Charleston of Lakeland died of heart failure Wednesday (Dec. 8, 2004) at home. He was 71.
Born in Massena, N.Y., on June 15, 1933, he came to Lakeland from Pinellas County five years ago. He was a carpenter and a member of the Carpenter's Union. He was a member of Victory Church in Lakeland.
Mr. Charleston is survived by his wife, Eleanor Charleston; sons, Robert Hall, St. Petersburg, Jack Hall, Oldsmar; daughters, Deborah Izzo, Largo, Lisa Coscia, Lakeland; brothers, Paul Charleston, Winthrop, N.Y., Philip Charleston, Massena, N.Y.; sister, June Charleston, Potsdam, N.Y.; seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Victory Church in Lakeland.

ROBERT WOZNIAK, 60

LAKELAND -- Mr. Robert Edward "Woz" Wozniak of Lakeland died of leukemia Tuesday (Dec. 7, 2004) at Good Shepherd Hospice. He was 60.
Born in Philadelphia on Jan. 5, 1944, he came to Lakeland from there in 1990. He was a technical specialist for AT & T, Sprint and MCI. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was a Navy and Navy Reserve veteran. He was a member of the Northeast Optimist Club of Philadelphia. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Winter Haven.
Mr. Wozniak is survived by his wife, Victoria Irene Wozniak; sons, Robert Edward Wozniak Jr., Clermont, Nicholas Jerome Wozniak, Lakeland; sisters, Dolores McPoyle, Geraldine Miller.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 2425 W. Havendale Blvd., Winter Haven. Services will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Philadelphia.

LAKELAND -- Mr. Jim Waddell of Lakeland died of complications of pneumonia Tuesday (Dec. 7, 2004) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was 81.
Born in Scotland on Nov. 16, 1923, he came to Lakeland from Mount Clemens, Mich., in 1987. He worked for Cadillac Motors in Michigan. He was a Mason. He was a Presbyterian.
Mr. Waddell is survived by his wife, Sandie Waddell; sisters, Shirley Semple, Nancy Govan, both of Scotland, Margaret Thomas, New Zealand, Jean Beavers, England.

LAKELAND -- Mrs. Opal Ernestine Townson of Lakeland died of complications of Alzheimer's disease Friday (Dec. 3, 2004) at home. She was 87.
Born in Lakeland on Dec. 29, 1916, she was a lifelong resident. She was a sectionizer for Kraft Foods. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.
Mrs. Townson was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey N. Townson. She is survived by her daughter, Dee Stone, Lakeland; sons, Ronnie Townson, Bill Townson, both of Lakeland; brother, E.J. Cason, Michigan; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Oak Hill Burial Park Cemetery.

WINTER HAVEN -- Mrs. Irma M. Toth of Winter Haven died of dementia Tuesday (Dec. 7, 2004) at home. She was 90.
Born in New York on April 12, 1914, she came to Winter Haven from Neptune, N.J., in 1997. She was a secretary for military installations for the Civil Service. She was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Allenhurst, N.J.
Mrs. Toth is survived by her daughter, Janette Oppel, Winter Haven; son, Ronald S. Toth, Neptune, N.J.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

LARGO -- Mr. Willard "Sonny" Smith of Largo, who has family in Polk County, died of cancer Sunday (Dec. 5, 2004) in Pinellas Park. He was 69.
Born in Light, Ark., on Jan. 27, 1935, he came to Largo from there in 1958. He worked in plaster work.
Mr. Smith is survived by his daughter, Melinda Shook, Largo; brother, Tommy Smith, Mason, Mich.; sisters, Mona Howard, Auburndale, Wanda Slatton, Light, Viola Cook, Walnut Ridge, Ark., Geneva Rowe, Woodland, Mich., Ila Robertson, Knoxville, Tenn.; three grandchildren; one great-grandson.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Woodside Hospice, Pinellas Park.

LAKELAND -- Mrs. Reva Rose Sherouse-Waddell of Lakeland died of congestive heart failure Tuesday (Dec. 7, 2004) at Lakeland Hills Center. She was 91.
Born in Lakeland on Jan. 13, 1913, she was a lifelong resident. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church at the Mall.
Mrs. Sherouse-Waddell was preceded in death by her husband, T.D. Waddell. She is survived by her sons, Floyd Waddell, Lakeland, Mac Waddell, Wahneta, Wesley Waddell, Lake Wales; daughters, Joyce Mathers, Lakeland, Lavern Todero, Coram, N.Y., Eula Brown, Florida, Kaye Eckert, Sarasota; 33 grandchildren; 85 great-grandchildren; 40 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lanier Funeral Home, 717 W. Griffin Road, Lakeland. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel.

LAKE HAMILTON -- Mrs. Lois Rubush of Lake Hamilton died of complications of Alzheimer's disease Tuesday (Dec. 7, 2004) at her daughter's home in Jacksonville. She was 90.
Born in Lamont, Iowa, on Feb. 16, 1914, she came to Lake Hamilton more than 80 years ago. She was a clerk for the U.S. Post Office in Lake Hamilton. She was a member of the Lake Hamilton's Woman's Club. She was a member of Lake Hamilton Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Rubush was preceded in death by her husband, Albert E. Rubush. She is survived by her son, Jack Rubush, Lake Hamilton; daughters, Jean R. Adams, Haines City, Pamela Murphy, Jacksonville; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Forest Hill Cemetery, Haines City.
