FORT MEADE -- Mrs. Nina Skipper Fralic of Fort Meade died of injuries sustained in an auto accident Monday (Dec. 13, 2004) at Florida Hospital in Wauchula. She was 59.
Born in Bartow on Feb. 20, 1945, she was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a senior nursing clerk for the Polk County Health Department. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Fort Meade.
Mrs. Fralic is survived by her husband, Uhlan Fralic; daughters, Tonya Owens, Susan Tenney, Marcie O'Neal, all of Fort Meade, Vicki Turner, Missouri, Marilyn Markle, Cranberry Township, Pa., Jeannie Cribbs, Ashville, N.C.; brothers, Verdon Skipper, Burlington, N.J., Norman W. Skipper Sr., Leroy Skipper, both of Fort Meade; sister, Rosie King, Alturas; 13 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at McLean Funeral Home, 306 E. Broadway, Fort Meade. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, 307 E. Broadway, Fort Meade. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Meade.

HAINES CITY -- Mr. Michael LaDon Ivey of Haines City died of lung failure Tuesday (Dec. 14, 2004) in Davenport. He was 28.
Born in Haines City on Aug. 6, 1976, he was a lifelong resident. He was a welder for Composite Construction in Georgia.
Mr. Ivey is survived by his father, Roger LaDon Ivey, Fort Pierce; wife, Tammy Grimwood Ivey; son, Tyler Lee Gibson, Haines City; brother, Dennis Ray Ivey, Atlanta; sisters, Michelle Lee Ecker, Fort Pierce, Malinda "Mimi" Zellers, Winter Haven; mother, Janet Qualls.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 1001 Grace Ave., Haines City. Services will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Haines City.
KENNETH LUCAS, 72

LAKELAND -- Mr. Kenneth W. Lucas of Lakeland died of heart and lung failure Tuesday (Dec. 14, 2004) at home. He was 72.
Born in Oswego, N.Y., on April 11, 1932, he came to Lakeland from there in 1989. He was a construction worker for the Construction Labor Local No. 214. He was a member of the Elks Club. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lakeland.
Mr. Lucas is survived by his wife, Barbara Lucas; daughter, Denise Newton; two grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lakeland. A reception will follow at Foxwood Lake Estates Club House.
Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale.

WINTER HAVEN -- Mrs. Jessie Sarah Patch of Winter Haven died of complications following a stroke Tuesday (Dec. 14, 2004) at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale. She was 93.
Born in Sweetsburg, Quebec, on May 29, 1911, she came to Winter Haven from Delray Beach three years ago. She was an electronics technician for more than 40 years, having worked for General Electric, and IT&T.; She was a member of the Sierra Club in California.
Mrs. Patch was preceded in death by her husband, Clare Patch. She is survived by her son, Garry Patch, Winter Haven; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

ZANESVILLE, Ohio -- Mr. George "Sonny" Shreve of Zanesville, Ohio, who has family in Plant City, died of heart failure Monday (Dec. 13, 2004) at Genesis HospiceMorrison House. He was 69.
He was born in Zanesville on Nov. 3, 1935. He retired from the maintenance department at Burnham Boiler.
Mr. Shreve is survived by his wife, Jane R. Shreve; sons, George Shreve, Robert Shreve, Sheldon Shreve, and Burl Shreve, all of Zanesville; daughters, Joyce Shreve, Zanesville, Cheryl Kidwell, Roseville, Ohio; brothers, Jesse Shreve, Zanesville, James Shreve, Newark, Ohio; sisters, Joyce McNerney, Newark and Plant City, Delia Lutz, Plant City; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at The Snouffer Funeral Home, 1150 West Military Road, Zanesville. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

LAKELAND -- Mrs. Hattie L. Wilson of Lakeland died of lung failure Dec. 8, 2004, at Oakbridge Healthcare Center. She was 92.
Born in Ocala, she came to Lakeland from there 89 years ago. She was a domestic worker. She was a member of Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church where she was a mother of the church, member of the Choir No. 1, and president of the Home Mission Ministry.
Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband, Porter Wilson Sr. She is survived by her daughters, Helen Mallard, Lakeland, Emmy Barnes, Orlando; son, Porter W. Wilson, Lakeland; sisters, Lee Emma Patterson, Medulla, Ethel Slater, Boston, Ga.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Zion Hill P.B. Church, 1348 Sidney Ave., Lakeland. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Medulla Cemetery.

LAKELAND -- Mrs. Essie M. Carter of Lakeland died of kidney failure Dec. 8, 2004, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. She was 78.
Born in Bronsward, Ga., she came to Lakeland from Jacksonville 57 years ago. She was a custodian for the Polk County Health Department. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of New Beulah Missionary Baptist Church where she was formerly on the usher board, a deaconess, and on the Mother's Board.
Mrs. Carter is survived by her husband, Frank Howard Carter; daughters, Geneva Williams, Zephyrhills, Betty Alexander, Mandy Brown, Melvina Kaye Gamble, Vicky Carter, all of Lakeland, Pearlie Bishop, Bronsward, Sharon Nurse, Rochester, N.Y.; sons, James Robinson Jr., Lakeland, Charles Robinson, Bronsward, Kelvin White, Rochester; 43 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren.
