WINTER HAVEN -- Mrs. Virginia E. Eisenhauer of Winter Haven died Tuesday (Nov. 23, 2004) at Life Care Center of Winter Haven. She was 91.
Born Aug. 17, 1913, in Muncy, Pa., she came here from Muncy. She was a clerk for the Pennsylvania Railroad for 27 years and a secretary for Citrus and Chemical Bank in Bartow. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Winter Haven.
Mrs. Eisenhauer was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Eisenhauer Jr. She is survived by her son-in-law, Vincent Pickett, Babson Park; granddaughter, Patricia Smith, Babson Park; five great-grandchildren.

MARION BOYD, 79
Seaboard Coast Line
BRADLEY -- Mr. Marion Dudley Boyd Jr. of Bradley died of heart failure Sunday (Dec. 19, 2004) at home. He was 79.
Born in Tampa on June 23, 1925, he came to Bradley from Bartow in 1954. He was a telegraph operator for Seaboard Coast Line. He was a member of the Historical Society of Polk County. He was a member of the Church of God in Brad-ley.
Mr. Boyd is survived by his wife, Muriel Boyd; sons, Al Boyd, Mulberry, Walter Boyd, Bradley, Tom Boyd, Lakeland; sister, Lynn Boyd, Redondo Beach, Calif.; six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at Seigler Funeral Home, State Road 60 E., Mulberry. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel.
Marion Boyd, 79, Seaboard Coastline
BRADLEY -- Mr. Marion Dudley Boyd Jr. was diagnosed with spina bifida as an infant and wasn't expected to live a full lifetime. But he overcame the challenges he faced and lived a fairly active life with multiple interests.
"They didn't think he would live to be a teenager, " said his son, Al Boyd of Mulberry. "He never considered himself handicapped. He would go the hard way. He would park way out and walk up."
Mr. Boyd, retired telegraph operator for Seaboard Coastline, died of heart failure Sunday (Dec. 19, 2004) at home. He was 79.
Mr. Boyd, whose father also worked in the railroad industry, was born in Tampa on June 34, 1925.
He lived in a railroad boarding house in Bradley before marrying his wife in 1954. The couple lived in Bartow before they returned to Bradley.
Mr. Boyd's career with the railroad spanned 43 years.
He was formerly in the Ridge Model Railroad Club. He coached Little League baseball and was a weather observer for Channel 13 for a number of years.
"He had a lot of books here. He studied the weather, " his son said. "He could forecast the weather within a day just by the winds and the clouds. He would keep logs on weather and see if he was right."
"He was a gentle man, " Al Boyd said.
Mr. Boyd was a member of the Historical Society of Polk County. He was a longtime member of the Church of God in Bradley where he was an adult Sunday school teacher and clerk of the church.
In addition to his son, Al Boyd, Mr. Boyd is survived by his wife, Muriel Boyd; sons, Walter Boyd, Bradley, and Tom Boyd, Lakeland; sister, Lynn Boyd, Redondo Beach, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Seigler Funeral Home, State Road 60 E., Mulberry. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel.
HAZEL SIMMONS, 78

PLANT CITY -- Mrs. Hazel Elizabeth "Betty" Simmons of Plant City died of cancer Friday (Dec. 17, 2004) at her home. She was 78.
Mrs. Simmons was born Dec. 21, 1925, in Mount Morris, Pa. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Simmons is survived by her husband, Myron Simmons; sons, Stacy Simmons, Plant City, Michael Simmons, Odessa; daughter, Janice Lynn Williams, Plant City; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Peters Episcopal Church, Plant City.
LEWIS SCOTT, 74

FORT MEADE -- Mr. Lewis Melvin Scott Jr. of Fort Meade died of respiratory failure Saturday (Dec. 18, 2004) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was 74.
Born July 13, 1930, in Ferrum, Va., Mr. Scott came to Fort Meade from Lakeland 17 years ago. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a builder for Scotty's Homes, Winter Haven. He was a Protestant.
Mr. Scott is survived by his wife, Louise "Peggy" Scott; sons, Lewis Scott III, Naples, Richard Scott, Richmond, Va.; daughters, Cindy Streshley Scott, Culpeper, Va., Lois Langston, Fort Meade; sister, Pat Doughton, Rocky Mount, Va.; brother, Don Scott, Rocky Mount; seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at McLean Funeral Home, Fort Meade. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Welch was born March 26, 1930, in Macon, Tenn. She was a housewife.
Mrs. Welch is survived by her son, Bill Welch, Lakeland; daughters, Charlotte Williams, Plant City, Pearl Tyncall, Greensville, S.C., Vivian Waters, Haines City.

WINTER HAVEN -- Mrs. Evelyn Steelman of Winter Haven died of cancer Saturday (Dec. 18, 2004) at Palm Garden of Winter Haven. She was 66.
Born March 4, 1938, in Mount Pleasant, Texas, Mrs. Steelman came here from Greenville, Miss., 30 years ago. She was a sales clerk.
Mrs. Steelman was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Collins. She is survived by her sons, James Hodges, Brandon, Miss., Timothy Hodges, Bude, Miss.; brothers, Floyd L. Steelman, Haines City, Jon Thomas Steelman, Indiana; sister, Vera Steelman and Merlin Collins, both of Orlando, Rozzie P. Simmons, Winter Haven.
