BARTOW -- Mrs. Mildred A. Stone of Bartow died of cancer Saturday (Dec. 18, 2004) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. She was 65.
Born March 5, 1939, in Aiken County, S.C., she came to Bartow from Seffner 42 years ago. She was a secretary for the Polk County Health Department, Bartow. She was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church, Bartow.
Mrs. Stone is survived by her husband, Charles E. Stone Sr., Bartow; son, Charles E. Stone Jr., Bartow; daughter, Cynthia Byrd, Frostproof; brothers, Clyde Edward Sizemore, Aiken, Willie Sizemore, New Ellenton, S.C.; sisters, Joyce Engle, Sebastian, Shirley Rutland, N. Augusta, S.C.; and one grandson.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Wildwood Baptist Church.

ROBERT SIMMONS, 78

DOVER -- Mr. Robert V. Simmons of Dover died of cancer Wednesday (Dec. 15, 2004) in Tampa. He was 78.
Born Sept. 27, 1926, in Plant City, he was a lifelong resident of this area. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. He was a welder for W.R. Grace.
Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by his wives, Myrtie Clyde Simmons and Mildred Elizabeth Simmons. He is survived by his daughters, Shearl "Sherry" Lawrence, Lakeland, Pat Brown, Seffner; stepdaughter, Janet Hoeksems, Dover, Karen Lynch, Norma Moody; sister, Hazel Whitehead, Durant; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Hopewell Funeral Home. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
FEB TULLIS, 43

MEDULLA -- Mr. George Feb Tullis Jr. of Medulla died of cancer Friday (Dec. 17, 2004) at home. He was 43.
Born Dec. 9, 1961, in Plant City, he came here from Willow Oak 15 years ago. He was a project manager for McDonald Construction. He was a member of Mulberry First Assembly of God.
Mr. Tullis is survived by his wife, Lisa Tullis; sons, Brad Tullis and Sammy Tullis, both of Medulla; daughter, Emilee Tullis, Medulla; mother, Mary Tullis, Mulberry; sisters, Cyndi Hendrix, Theresa Cline and Lynda McGhin, all of Lakeland, Debi Gill, Ft. Lonesome.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Seigler Funeral Home, Mulberry. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mulberry First Assembly of God.
WILLIAM NEITHARDT, 88

POLK CITY -- Mr. William A. Neithardt Sr. of Polk City died of heart failure Saturday (Dec. 18, 2004) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was 88.
Born Jan. 27, 1916, in Hoboken, N.J., he came here from Long Valley, N.J., in 1981. He was a model shop supervisor for Keuffel and Esser, Hoboken. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Lakeland.
Mr. Neithardt is survived by his wife, Marion Rose Neithardt; sons, William A. Neithardt Jr., Ridgefield, N.J., Charles T. Neithardt, Puyallup, Wash.; sisters, Marie Doyle, Point Pleasant, N.J., Florence Hoersch, Secaucus, N.J.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, Auburndale. Services will be 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Lakeland.
CLYDE McCLELLAND, 69

BRADLEY -- Mr. Clyde G. "Mac" McClelland of Bradley died of cancer Friday (Dec. 17, 2004) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was 69.
Born Dec. 21, 1934, in Tazmania, he came here from Las Vegas, Nev., 30 years ago. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was an electrician for IMC. He was Christian.
Mr. McClelland is survived by his wife, Willie McClelland; daughters, Jackie Richardson, Phoenix, Ariz., Georgiana Watson, Pensacola, Willie Mae Davis and Roxanne Jones, both of Brandon, Linda Diane Cain, Ft. Walton Beach; sister, Lucille Barley, Lakeland; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Seigler Funeral Home, Mulberry. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mary Yon, 93, Overpass Cafe
WINTER HAVEN -- Mrs. Mary Odessa "Deck" Yon of Winter Haven had a mothering personality that extended to family and patrons of her several businesses.
Mrs. Yon died of heart failure Friday (Dec. 17, 2004). She was 93.
Born Feb. 13, 1911, in Campbellton, she came here from Panama City in 1950.
"She was known to mother, " her granddaughter Mary McCord of Dothan, Ala. said. "That was her calling in life."
The oldest of 16 kids, McCord said that Mrs. Yon had a hand in raising all of them. She also lived with Mrs. Yon for several years.
"She taught me how to value life, " she said. "Also, the difference between wanting and needing."
After opening a trucking line, Mrs. Yon opened Overpass Cafe in Eloise. Her businesses also included a grocery store and several rental homes. In the 1970s, she built a mobile home park and named the streets after her children.
Mrs. Yon used her business to help the homeless, McCord said, by giving them food and a place to stay.
"She mothered anyone who needed mothering, " she said.
She was a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was a Pentecostal.
Mrs. Yon was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Alton Yon. She is survived by her daughters, Patsy Kriston, Winter Haven, Judie Passons, Seivierville, Tenn.; son, Kent Alton Johnson, Auburndale; brothers, Orell Drummond and Mark Drummond, Cottondale, Freddie Paul Drummond, Sneads; sisters, Betty Ann Drummond, Cottondale, Froy Wilde, Muskeegee, Okla., Ernestine Gibson, Winter Haven, Hazel Thompson, Jacksonville, Johnnie Sue Braxton, Auburndale; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Winter Haven. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

SUE CAMPBELL-MONTECER, 31
Probation and Parole Officer
BARTOW -- Mrs. Sue Ann Campbell-Montecer of Bartow died Saturday (Dec. 18, 2004) at home. She was 31.
Born in Winter Haven on Feb. 7, 1973, she was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a probation and parole officer for the Florida Department of Corrections in Bartow. She was a Bartow reserve officer and a reserve officer for the Polk County Sheriff's Department. She was formerly employed by the Auburndale Police Department. She was a Baptist.
Mrs. Campbell-Montecer is survived by her husband, Claro Montecer Jr.; parents, Newell and Shirley Campbell, Fort Meade; stepdaughters, Maria Montecer, Christine Montecer, both of Rockland County, N.Y.; brother, Alvin Newell Campbell, Bartow.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 E. Main St., Bartow. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel.
