PLANT CITY -- Mr. David L. Dixon of Plant City died of kidney failure Friday (Dec. 17, 2004) in Plant City. He was 68.
Born in Plant City on Nov. 28, 1936, Mr. Dixon returned to Plant City from Georgia two years ago. He was a retired master sergeant in the Air Force and a member of the American Legion in Rome, Ga. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Dixon is survived by his wife, Betty Sue Dixon; son, David F. Dixon, Cumming, Ga.; daughters, Linda L. Pilgrim, Ringgold, Ga., Katherine A. Dixon, Cedartown, Ga.; mother, Delsa Dixon, Plant City; brother, Charles R. Dixon, Plant City; sister, Judy Clark, Wimauma; two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Haught Funeral Home, Plant City.
BETTY WIGGINS, 85
Orange Ring
HAINES CITY -- Mrs. Betty Wiggins of Haines City died of pneumonia Wednesday (Dec. 15, 2004) in Davenport. She was 85.
Born in Ambrose, Ga., on Feb. 25, 1919, she came to Haines City from Brunswick, Ga., in 1949. She was a sales clerk for the Orange Ring in Haines City for more than 20 years. She was a member of Landmark Baptist Church in Haines City.
Mrs. Wiggins was preceded in death by her husband, Julius M. Wiggins. She is survived by her son, Gene E. Wiggins, Winter Haven; daughters, Bobbie Carter, Haines City, Ann Sebert, Carolyn Fowler, both of Orlando; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 this evening at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 1001 Grace Ave., Haines City. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Landmark Baptist Church in Haines City. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Haines City.
KENNY WALTERS, 54

RUSKIN -- Mr. Kenny Walters of Ruskin, formerly of Frostproof, died of cancer Thursday (Dec. 16, 2004) at home. He was 54.
Born in Union, Miss., on March 8, 1950, he lived in Frostproof before moving to Ruskin four months ago. He was a forklift mechanic for a meat packing company. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Walters is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Walters, Ruskin; mother, Ema Laura Walters Dasinger, Bartow; brother, Keith Walters, Frostproof; sister, Linda Myers, Bartow.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 this evening at Marion Nelson Funeral Home of Frostproof. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Silver Hill Cemetery in Frostproof.
JOSEPHINE MOORE, 78

WINTER HAVEN -- Mrs. Josephine Tyler Moore of Winter Haven died of lung failure Thursday (Dec. 16, 2004) at Tandem Health Care in Winter Haven. She was 78.
Born in Baxley, Ga., on April 19, 1926, she came to Winter Haven from Georgia, 70 years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a Baptist.
Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband, Lenton Moore; son, Richard Terry Moore, Winter Haven; daughter, Linda Moore Kitch, Scotts Valley, Calif.; sisters, Effie Walker, Polk City, Juanita Menzine, California; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Ott-Lauglin Funeral Home, Winter Haven. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel.
ROBERT MARLETT, 78

DAVENPORT -- Mr. Robert Warren Marlett of Davenport died of heart failure Wednesday (Dec. 15, 2004) in Davenport. He was 78.
Born in Grand Rapids, Mich., on Aug. 24, 1926, he came to Davenport from Michigan, eight years ago. He was a postmaster in Mount Pleasant, Mich. He was president of Kal-Fed C.U. for five years, and was a board member of the Honey Creek Christian Homes, both in Michigan. He was a volunteer at Heart of Florida Hospital. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of the American Legion. He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church.
Mr. Marlett is survived by his wife, Jean Marlett; sons, R. Phil Marlett, Davenport, Paul Edward Marlett, Plainwell, Mich.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Oak Ridge Funeral Home, 1001 Grace Ave., Haines City. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Landmark Baptist College. Burial will be in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.

ONA -- Mr. William Clarence Holloway Jr. of Ona, a native of Lakeland, died of heart failure Tuesday (Dec. 14, 2004) at home. He was 53.
Born in Lakeland on April 27, 1951, he moved to Ona from Lakeland 15 years ago. He worked in construction. He was an Army veteran during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Holloway is survived by his daughter, Michelle Lee Waters, Polk City; brothers, John Youngblood, Lakeland, Chuck Maley, Tennessee; sisters, Marianne Britt, Lake Wales, Sandra K. Hayes, Tennessee.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Gentry-Morrison Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Road. Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.

DOVER -- Mr. Kevin C. "KC" Papka of Dover, who has family in Polk County, died Tuesday (Dec. 14, 2004) in Plant City. He was 46.

HAINES CITY -- Mrs. Willie Lee "Billie" Gossette of Haines City died of heart failure Wednesday (Dec. 15, 2004) in Haines City. She was 92.
Born in Moultrie, Ga., on Feb. 2, 1912, she came to Haines City from Georgia, in 1925. She was a sales clerk for Haines City Hardware for seven years. She also worked at Vickers Department Store and W.A. Cook Department Store, both in Haines City. She worked for the Ridge Shopper. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lake Alfred.
Mrs. Gossette was preceded in death by her husband, H.L. "Jack" Gossette. She is survived by her daughter, Janice F. Rodenbaugh, Haines City; son, Lewis S. Gossette, Greensboro, Ga.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Oak Ridge Funeral Home, 1001 Grace Ave., Haines City. Services will follow at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Haines City.

WAHNETA -- Mr. Antonio Gonzalez Juarez of Wahneta died of injuries sustained in a work-related accident Friday (Dec. 10, 2004) in Lakeland. He was 24.
Born in Mexico, on Jan. 17, 1980, he came to Wahneta from there two years ago. He was a drywall installer. He was a Catholic.
Mr. Juarez is survived by his parents, Miguel and Aurelia Gonzalez, Mexico; brothers, Alberto Gonzalez Juarez, Cornelio Gonzalez Juarez, Bartolo Gonzalez Juarez, all of Mexico; three sisters, Mexico.
Burial will be in Valles, Mexico.
