LAKELAND -- Mr. James M. "Jim" Hall of Lakeland died of a blood infection Monday (Dec. 13, 2004) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was 49.
Born in Plant City on Nov. 28, 1955, he was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a carpet installer. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Hall is survived by his sons, Marshall Hall, Michael Hall, both of Lakeland; mother, Margaret Hall, Lakeland; brother, John Hall, Lakeland; sisters, Loretta Ayers, Highland City, Frances Bryan, Sharon Richards, both of Lakeland; two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at Countryside Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Oak Hill Burial Park.
Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church building fund.
ARVA CARTER, 72

WINTER HAVEN -- Mr. Arva Lee Carter of Winter Haven and Waynesville, N.C., died of heart failure Tuesday (Dec. 21, 2004) at Winter Haven Hospital. He was 72.
He was born in Baxley, Ga., on Oct. 28, 1932. He founded Lee's Furniture in Haines City in 1973. He was a barber and a Realtor in Haines City for 20 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Carter is survived by his wife, Omergeane Carter; son, Jerry L. Carter, Winter Haven; daughter, Ramona Bare, Winter Haven; brothers, Randall Carter, Auburndale, Robert Carter, Lake Alfred, Holland Carter, and Terrell Carter, both of Winter Haven; sister, Lillie Paul, Winter Haven; seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Crisp-Coon Funeral Chapel, Winter Haven. Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in the Church of Christ Cemetery in Eagle Lake.
JERE HOLLMEYER, 89

LAKE ALFRED -- Mrs. Jere Crook Hollmeyer of Lake Alfred died of heart failure Friday (Dec. 17, 2004) in Orange Park. She was 89.
Born in Ocala on June 3, 1915, she came to Lake Alfred from Bartow in 1947. She was a restaurant owner of Cypress Gardens Dining Room and Palm Terrace. She graduated from Florida State University where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She was also an elementary school teacher in Winter Haven. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winter Haven.
Mrs. Hollmeyer was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Hollmeyer. She is survived by her son, Robert C. Hollmeyer, Charlotte, N.C.; daughters, Anne Broadhurst, Green Cove Springs, Nancy Hollmeyer, Atlanta; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10 this morning at the chapel of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winter Haven. Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, or the Arthritis Foundation.

CHARLES CASSMAN, 90

LAKELAND -- Mr. Charles E. Cassman of Lakeland died of lung failure Saturday (Dec. 18, 2004) at Wedgewood Health Care in Lakeland. He was 90.
Born in Lake Ciecott, Ind., on March 11, 1914, he came to Lakeland from Indianapolis in 1982. He was a retired machinist for Food Machine Corp. in Indianapolis. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 514 F & AM in Greenwood, Ind. He was a member of the square dance clubs, Buttons and Bows in Lakeland, Merri-Mixers in Winter Haven and Fox Wood Squares. He won a contest through The Ledger for a look-a-like contest for Henry Fonda. He was a member of First Baptist Church at the Mall in Lakeland.
Mr. Cassman is survived by his wife, Helen F. Cassman; son, Roger Cassman, Crosby, Texas; daughter, Martha C. Freeman, Anderson, Ind.; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, 2198 K-Ville Ave., Auburndale. Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.

LAKELAND -- Mr. Robert Junior Brown of Lakeland died of heart failure Saturday (Dec. 18, 2004) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was 49.
Born in Harlan, Ky., on Oct. 20, 1955, he came to Lakeland from Indiana in 1973. He owned Quality Building Maintenance.
Mr. Brown is survived by his sons, Kyle Brown, Jeffrey Brown, Max Brown, Wesley Brown, all of Auburndale; father, Bobby Brown, Lakeland; brothers, Timothy Riddle, Nineva, Ind., Richard Riddle, Edinburgh, Ind.; sisters, Cleta Riddle, Sharon Riddle, both of Edinburgh.

HARRY ZIEGLER, 85

LAKELAND -- Mr. Harry E. Ziegler of Lakeland died of heart failure Saturday (Dec. 18, 2004) in Lakeland. He was 85.
Born in Cleveland on May 8, 1919, he came to Lakeland from Denver, N.C., in 1994. He was a sales engineer. He was a first lieutenant in the Army Air Corps and a veteran of World War II. He was a life member of the Denver Masonic Lodge No. 757 in North Carolina. He was a mem-ber of the Denver Eastern Star No. 367 and the Oasis Shrine Temple in Charlotte, N.C. He was a 50-year member of the Valley Scottish Rite in Cleveland.
Mr. Ziegler is survived by his wife, Jean Ziegler; son, David Ziegler, Dade City; sister, Thelma Fathauger, Parma; stepson, Darwin Smith, Dallas; two step granddaughters; two stepgreat grandsons.
Memorial services will be held later.

WINTER HAVEN -- Mrs. Natalia "Tallie" Abraham of Winter Haven died of heart failure Saturday (Dec. 18, 2004) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. She was 62.
Born in Muskogee, Okla., on July 20, 1942, she came to Winter Haven from Bartow four years ago. She was a retired physical therapist and was an office manager for a doctor in Bartow. She was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. She was a past president and current secretary of the Tiger Lake Lions Club. She was presented the Melvin Jones Award from the Lions Club International for outstanding service. She was a Catholic.
Mrs. Abrhama is survived by her husband, Ronald James Abraham; daughter, Sandra Ciran, Saint Charles, Ill.; son, Martin Hickey, Largo; brothers, Elmer Monshower, Thompson, Ill., Alvah Monshower Jr., Richard Monshower, both of Wilson, N.C.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
