BRADLEY -- Mrs. Bill Louise Tyre of Bradley died of heart failure Friday (April 1, 2005) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. She was 68.
Born June 10, 1936, in Plant City, Mrs. Tyre was a lifelong resident of this area. She was a sectionizer for Kraft Food. She was a Christian.
Mrs. Tyre is survived by her sister, Bonnie Danforth, Bradley; brothers, Jack Woody and John Woody, both of Keysville; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at A.M. Seigler Funeral Home, Mulberry.
ROBERT STRICKLAND, 84

AUBURNDALE -- Dr. Robert S. "Bob" Strickland of Auburndale died of heart failure Friday (April 1, 2005) at his home. He was 84.
Born in Valdosta, Ga., Mr. Strickland came here from Fort Meade in 1950. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II. He was a dentist. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Auburndale, Auburndale Masonic Lodge 135 F&AM;, Auburndale Rotary Club and the Auburndale Old Timers Coffee Club.
Mr. Strickland is survived by his wife, Wilma Strickland; sons, Dee Strickland, St. Petersburg, Dale Strickland, Auburndale, Dennis Strickland, Jupiter; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Auburndale. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church.

HIGHLAND CITY -- Mr. Pete "Mellie" Collins of Highland City died of cardiac arrest Friday (April 1, 2005) at Bartow Memorial Hospital. He was 95.
Born May 9, 1909, in Cobbtown, Ga., Mr. Collins came here from Georgia 75 years ago. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. He was a truck driver and fruit buyer. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Highland City and First Baptist Church of Lakeland.
Mr. Collins is survived by his wife, Alene Callaway Collins; brothers, Otis Collins, Savannah, Ga., Larry Collins, Cleveland, Tenn.; sisters, Jean Paris, Lynn Jones, June Coursey, Judy Collins, all of Metter, Ga., Elva Leverett, Aiken, S.C., Hilda Edgil, Eldridge, Ala., Lamana Balboni, Boynton Beach, Dianne Burkett, Searcy, Ark.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Gentry-Morrison Southside. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Highland City.

LAKELAND -- Mr. Nicholas Poliszczuk of Lakeland died of cancer Thursday (March 31, 2005). He was 59.
Born Dec. 12, 1945, in Krankenhause, Austria, Mr. Poliszczuk came here from Philadelphia in 2003. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, serving in the Vietnam War. He was a police officer in Philadelphia. He was a member of St. Vladimir's Ukranian Orthodox Church and VFW Post 8020.
Mr. Poliszczuk is survived by his wife, Maria E. Poliszczuk; daughter, Nicole Poliszczuk, Lakeland; mother, Halyna Poliszczuk, Philadelphia.

Mrs. Glass was born July 4, 1917, in Georgia. She was a homemaker. She was a Baptist.

LAKELAND -- Mrs. Lynda Carol Doan of Lakeland died of heart failure Friday (April 1, 2005) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. She was 56.
Born Nov. 10, 1948, in Gloversville, N.Y., Mrs. Doan came here from Farmington, N.M., in 1982. She was a nurse's aide and beautician. She was a Methodist.
Mrs. Doan is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Straub, Lake Wales; father, Richard F. Suits, Peoria, Ariz.; brother, Robert Suits, Boise, Idaho; sister, Karen Wiberg, Phoenix; one grandchild.

William Bagwell, 63, Supervisor
BARTOW -- Though not a professional builder or handyman, Mr. William A. "Bill" Bagwell of Bartow, who died of respiratory failure Friday (April 1, 2005), kept himself busy with design and contracting projects. He was 63.
Born Sept. 23, 1941, in Honea Path, S.C., Mr. Bagwell came here from Lydia Mills, S.C., 30 years ago.
"He was a hands-on person, " his son-in-law, Jody Sagoniuk said.
Mr. Bagwell never went into business for himself but made use of his skills by helping friends and family.
"He could make anything you asked, " Sagoniuk said. "He was just a good man."
Sagoniuk credited Mr. Bagwell with helping him realize his life was in need of change shortly after he married his daughter, Michelle.
The two worked on projects at Bagwell's home. The work and Mr. Bagwell's character inspired Sagoniuk to join the Army -- an experience he said changed him for the better.
Mr. Bagwell worked as a facilities management supervisor for Polk County. He was a member of Lake Garfield Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Sue Bagwell; sons, Daniel Alvin Bagwell, Bartow, James Richard Hamby, Laurens, S.C.; daughters, Melissa Joyce Morse, Lake Wales, Cynthia Denise Bagwell and Lena Alva Sanders, both of Laurens, Angela Kirkland, Michelle Lee Sagoniuk and Heather JoAnn Bagwell, all of Bartow, Sarah Jane Alonzo, Mulberry; brothers, David Bagwell and James Bagwell, both of Clinton, S.C.; sister, Mary Jo Parker, Waterloo, S.C.; nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lake Garfield Baptist Church.
