DAVENPORT -- Mrs. Ann L. Graham of Davenport died of cancer Sunday (March 27, 2005) in Davenport. She was 67.
Born in Brockton, Mass., on Dec. 31, 1937, she came to Davenport from Massachusetts in 1981. She was a Disney travel agent for 15 years. She was an Army veteran. She attended St. Ann's Catholic Church in Haines City.
Mrs. Graham was preceded in death by her husband, Gerard Graham. She is survived by her sons, James Graham and Dennis Graham, both of Davenport; sisters, Kathryn Cobis, Brockton, Jane Card and Mary Taylor, both of Davenport, and Susan Stillman, Hornel, N.Y.; brother, Wiliam Stoddard, Brockton; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 1001 Grace Ave., Haines City. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Ann Catholic Church. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Haines City.
RAYMOND DEESE, 67

DAVENPORT -- Mr. Raymond Deese of Davenport died of cancer Sunday (March 27, 2005) in Tampa. He was 67.
Born in Eagle Lake on Jan. 10, 1938, he came to Davenport from Orlando in 1963. He was a mechanic for Haines City Industries for 35 years. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Deese is survived by his daughters, Debra Edwards, Winter Haven, and Bridgette Vozzella, Polk City; son, Jimmy Deese, Haines City; brother, John Deese, Frostproof; sister, Evelyn Strickland, Center Hill; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Haines City.

DUNDEE -- Mr. Larry "Simon" Henderson of Dundee died of heart failure March 16, 2005. He was 58.
Born in Dundee on Oct. 4, 1946, he was a lifelong resident. He was a military veteran. He was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Dundee.
Mr. Henderson is survived by his wife, Shari P. Henderson; mother, Mattie L. Munroe, Dundee; brothers, Herbert Ray, Roy Henderson, both of Sodus, N.Y., Herman Henderson, Greg Henderson, both of Rochester, N.Y., Henry Henderson, Oswego, N.Y.; sisters, Ernestine Dickerson, Wilhelmina Henderson, Gloria Henderson, Roslyn Henderson, all of Rochester, Bessie Henderson, Washington, D.C., Vanessa Henderson, Sodus, Doreen Henderson, Ontario, N.Y.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at 503 Myrtle St., Dundee.

EAGLE LAKE -- Mr. J.D. Catrett of Eagle Lake died of heart failure Tuesday (March 22, 2005) in Eagle Lake. He was 79.
Born on Sept. 19, 1925, he came to Eagle Lake in 1946. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service and served as Eagle Lake's Postmaster. He was an Army veteran. He was founder and president of the Eagle Lake Christian Education Foundation. He served on the board of Eagle Lake First Assembly of God for many years. He taught Sunday school and was a leader of the boy's Royal Ranger program.
Mr. Catrett was preceded in death by his first wife, Rada. He is survived by his wife, Aletha Shaw Catrett; daughter, Cecile Dorso, Lutz; stepchildren, Margie Phillips, Winter Haven, Dale and Mary Shaw, Paulette and George Oswald, Danny and Sally Shaw, all of Rockford, Ill.; one granddaughter.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Eagle Lake First Assembly of God. Services will follow at 7 p.m. at the church. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens, Auburndale.

Paul Thornhill, 72, Insurance Agent
LAKELAND -- Mr. Paul Monroe Thornhill, a fifth-generation Florida Cracker and Polk Countian, maintained a lifelong interest in agriculture.
"He not only had a green thumb but he knew what he was doing, and he did it and enjoyed seeing things grow, " said his sister, Theresa Mikell of North Richland Hills, Texas. "It was a lifestyle. Most of our relatives do that. He is a Cracker."
The retired citrus grower and owner of Paul M. Thornhill and Associates Inc., died of heart failure Tuesday (March 22, 2005) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was 72.
Born in Eagle Lake on Jan. 15, 1933, Mr. Thornhill graduated from Haines City High School in 1951. While in high school, he was active in 4-H Club and won many honors for his public speaking and dairy judging.
He attended the University of Florida, receiving a degree in dairy management.
He served with the Army's 7th Cavalry Ranger Unit in Japan during the Korean War and held the rank of lieutenant.
Mr. Thornhill worked for his father-in-law's grove caretaking business before opening Paul M. Thornhill and Associates Inc. on Combee Road. He worked as an insurance agent for 39 years.
"Throughout his life, he pursued his agricultural interest by working in the citrus industry and continued this as a grower up until his death, " said his daughter, Kathy Sweeney of Lakeland. "At his home in Lakeland, he grew 42 varieties of edible fruits and nuts."
Mr. Thornhill had a strong interest and vast knowledge in the history of the county, and he served as treasurer of the Polk Historical Society.
He was a founding member of the Highlands Future Society, and a founding board member of the Florida School of Preaching, where he served as secretary and treasurer for many years. He was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. He was a member and deacon at South Florida Avenue Church of Christ.
In addition to his daughter, Kathy Sweeney, and sister, Theresa Mikell, Mr. Thornhill is survived by his wife of 47 years, Betty Jean Thornhill; son, Cecil Thornhill, Lakeland; brother, E.C. Thornhill, Bath Springs, Tenn.; sister, Inez Brooker, Gainesville; and one grandson.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at South Florida Avenue Church of Christ. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church.

WINTER HAVEN -- Ms. Camilla A. Tison of Winter Haven died of lung failure Tuesday (March 22, 2005) at Winter Haven Hospital. She was 88.
Born in Eagle Lake on Dec. 16, 1916, she was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a cashier for a retail business. She was a member of Havendale Christian Church.
Ms. Tison is survived by her brother, Jack H. Tison, Lakeland.
