LAKE WALES -- Mr. John Henry Sr. of Lake Wales died of heart failure Tuesday (March 22, 2005) at home. He was 87.
Born in Arcanum, Ohio, on Aug. 24, 1917, he lived in Haines City for 40 years before moving to Lake Wales one year ago. He worked for A & P Grocery in Haines City, Smiling Jack's in Dundee, and he retired as a meat market manager for Colorado Box Beef. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Haines City Lions Club.
Mr. Henry is survived by his wife, Naomi Henry; daughters, Barbara Hill, Kissimmee, Elaine Mickler, Lake Wales, Linda Hall, Niceville; son, John Henry Jr., Lake Wales; brother, Kermit Henry, Houston; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

HAINES CITY -- Mrs. Willie Mae "Granny" Henderson of Haines City died of heart disease Saturday (March 19, 2005) at Heart of Florida Medical Center. She was 83.
Born in Ramer, Ala., on June 24, 1921, she came to Haines City from there 64 years ago. She was a retired cafeteria worker and worked for the Polk County School Board for 27 years. She was formerly employed with the Haines City Truck Stop as a cook. She was a member and usher at New Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by her husband, James Henderson Sr. She is survived by her sons, James "Hamp" Henderson Jr., Dundee, Rogers Henderson, Haines City, Gerald Henderson, Jacksonville; daughters, Joyce, Gaylon, and Jackie Henderson, all of Haines City; sisters, Addie Mae Patterson, Birmingham, Ala., Beatrice Lee, Flint, Mich., Sarah Grigsby, Dayton, Ohio, Doris Arrington-Caffey, Memphis, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Holmes Funeral Home, 601 Claude Holmes Sr. Ave., Haines City. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Parkview Christian Center, 3520 Baker Ave., Haines City. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

EATON PARK -- Mrs. Enid A. Griffis of Eaton Park died of heart failure Friday (March 18, 2005) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. She was 71.
Born in Jesup, Ga., on June 26, 1933, she came to Eaton Park from Odum, Ga., in 1959. She was a laborer and retired from the Juice Bowl after 18 years of service.
Mrs. Griffis was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Grifis. She is survived by her sons, Jerry Griffis, Polk City, Terry Griffis, Eaton Park; daughter, Sherry Duffy, Eaton Park; sisters, Oreida Griffis, Odum, Lavonne Childers, Cairo, Ga.; brothers, Roger Aspinwall, Odum, J.E. Aspinwall, Baxley, Ga.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 this afternoon at Lakeland Memorial Gardens. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. at the cemetery.

LAKELAND -- Mrs. Docia Williams of Lakeland died of heart failure Friday (April 1, 2005) at Carpenters' Manor. She was 96.
Born Jan. 7, 1909, in Early County, Ga., Mrs. Williams came here from there in 1944. She worked for Holly Hill Citrus for more than 25 years. She was a member of Freewill Baptist Church, Georgia.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Henry C. Williams. She is survived by her son, Charles Williams, Haines City; daughters, Doris Alexander, Jacksonville, Vaudine Pressley, Lakeland.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. this afternoon at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

PLANT CITY -- Mrs. Ruth Sparks Blanton of Plant City died of lung failure Sunday (April 3, 2005) in Plant City. She was 77.
Born in Deering, Mo., on Nov. 4, 1927, she came to Plant City from Kenneth, Mo. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Plant City Community Christian Church.
Mrs. Blanton was preceded in death by her husband, John Blanton. She is survived by her daughters, Betty Sheffield, Sandra Easters, both of Plant City; brothers, Claude Sparks, California, Jackie Sparks, Carwell, Mo., David Eugene Sparks, Paragould, Ark.; sisters, Willie Spaeth, Little Rock, Ark., Jewel Campbell, North Carolina; 11 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at Wells Memorial Funeral Home, Plant City. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel.

DUNDEE -- Mr. C. Benjamin Knott of Dundee died Saturday (April 2, 2005) in Dundee. He was 68.

WINTER HAVEN -- Mr. Priteshkumar M. Amin of Winter Haven died Friday (April 1, 2005) in Dundee. He was 31.
Born Oct. 28, 1973, in Gujrat, India, he came here from India in 1997. He was the owner of the Superway No. 6 Convenience Store in Dundee. He was a member of Baps Temple in Orlando.
Mr. Amin is survived by his parents, Mahendrakumar Amin and Varsha I. Amin; wife, Prerana Narajanbhai Amin, Winter Haven; son, Neel Amin, Winter Haven; daughter, Nidhi Amin, Winter Haven; brother, Hiren Amin, Leesburg; and sisters, Mona Amin, California, and Neha Amin, Leesburg.
Services will be held this afternoon from 1 to 3 at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, Auburndale. Services will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

LAKELAND -- Mr. Jack Thomas Stephens of Lakeland died of heart failure Sunday (April 3, 2005) at Park Place of Lakeland. He was 85.
Born in Muskogee, Okla., on May 28, 1919, he came to Lakeland from Fort Smith, Ark., in 1999. He was a real estate broker. He was a member and past president of the Board of Realtors of Fort Smith. He was a member and past president of the Exchange Club of Fort Smith. He was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the European Theater. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fort Smith.
Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Moss Stephens. He is survived by his sons, Jack Thomas Stephens Jr., Lakeland, Robert Carroll Stephens, Jacksonville; brothers, Kenneth Stephens, Tulsa, Okla., Klyde Stephens, Atlanta; sister, Marion Sengel, Alexandria, Va.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Heath Funeral Chapel.
