THONOTOSASSA -- Mrs. Cherylinn Lock Lewis Mendoza of Thonotosassa, formerly of Auburndale, died of heart failure Saturday (April 2, 2005) at Tampa General Hospital. She was 50.
Born in Tampa on Dec. 8, 1954, she moved to Thonotosassa from Tampa in 1962. She was a homemaker. She was a Baptist.
Mrs. Mendoza is survived by her husband, Joe J. Mendoza; parents, Ernest and Dorothy Lock, Auburndale; daughter, Hollie N. McKnight Culvahouse, Winter Haven; brother, John Lock, Polk City; sister, Brenda Lock Thomas, Auburndale; stepdaughters, Carmen Maria Lloyd, Shannon Rae Dick, both of Tampa, Jessica Lynn Mendoza, Beverly Hills; stepson, Joseph Michael Mendoza, Tampa; 15 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at Kersey Funeral Home, 108 E. Lake Stella Drive, Auburndale. Services will follow at noon at the funeral home chapel.
ROBERT TAYLOR, 84

HAINES CITY -- Mr. Robert Emerson Taylor of Haines City died of heart failure Saturday (April 2, 2005). He was 84.
Born in Boise City, Okla., on Sept. 7, 1920, he came to Haines City in 1972. He was a Navy veteran. During World War II, he flew TBFs off the carrier USS Sewanee in the Pacific Theater. He was awarded several medals, including the Bronze Star and Presidential Unit Citation. He later served as an instructor for pilots. He was member of the Lake Region Yacht and Country Club.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife of 60 years, Cobbie; children, Cobbie P. LeBlanc, Tucson, Ariz., Elizabeth T. Evans, Lexington, Ky., Robert E. Taylor Jr., Lakeland, Hazel T. Kirk, Wilmington, Del.; eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 this afternoon at Oak Ridge Funeral Home, Haines City. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.

WINTER HAVEN -- Mr. Nicholas "Nick" Aiossa of Winter Haven died of complications of Alzheimer's disease Sunday (April 3, 2005) in Winter Haven. He was 93.
Born in Foca, Italy, on March 14, 1912, he came to Winter Haven from New Jersey in 1985. He owned Aiossa Construction in New Jersey. He was a Catholic.
Mr. Aiossa was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Rose Aiossa. He is survived by his son, Illario Aiossa, Lakeland; daughter, Terri Jack, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

DOVER -- Mrs. Edith Mallard of Dover died of heart failure Thursday (March 31, 2005) in Davenport. She was 79.
Mrs. Mallard was born Jan. 17, 1926, in Loughman. She was a shrimp peeler and packer for Tampa Bay Fisher for 30 years. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Dover.
Mrs. Mallard was preceded in death by her husband, George C. Mallard. She is survived by her brother, Paul Kirkland, Davenport, and sister, Hazel McCann, LaPorte, Ind.
Visitation will be this afternoon from 1 to 2 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

DAVENPORT -- Mrs. Ruth Ferguson of Davenport died Monday (April 4, 2005) in Haines City. She was 73.

LAKELAND -- Mr. Lester Allen Woodruff of Lakeland died of complications of hip surgery Thursday (March 31, 2005) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was 69.
Born in Rochester, N.Y., on June 7, 1935, he came to Lakeland from there eight years ago. He was retired. He was a member of Lake Gibson Methodist Church.
Mr. Woodruff is survived by his wife, Elaine Woodruff; daughters, Joanne Lewis, Rochester, Patricia Liegey, Lakeland; son, Allen Woodruff, Rochester; brothers, James Woodruff, Englewood, Lee Woodruff, Rochester, Bryon Woodruff, Kissimmee; sister, Joyce Woodruff, Rochester; four grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lake Gibson United Methodist Church, 424 W. Daughtry Road, Lakeland.

LAKE WALES -- Mr. Walter Robert Elletson of Lake Wales died of cancer Monday (April 4, 2005) at home. He was 77.
Born in Detroit on Sept. 30, 1928, he came to Lake Wales from Clawson, Mich., 28 years ago.
Mr. Elletson is survived by his wife of 56 years, Willadene Elletson; daughters, Linda Doneson, Debra Dennis, Sandra Thomas; five grandchildren.

WINTER HAVEN -- Mr. Richard E. Hall of Winter Haven died of cancer Saturday (April 2, 2005). He was 66.
Born March 27, 1939, he was a lifelong resident of Polk County. He was a supervisor for the Department of Transportation. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, Peggy Hall; daughter, Mary Beth Harkins, Winter Haven; son, Ricky Hall, Lakeland; sisters, Ernestine Sandh and Brenda Seay, both of Lake Buffum, Bernice Wiggins, Bartow; brothers, Bill Hall, Steve Hall and Fred Hall, all of Bartow, and Glenn Hall and Larry Hall, both of Lakeland; eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
