A reception will follow in the Parish Center at the church.

LAKELAND -- Mr. George Simon Hayes of Lakeland died of heart failure Saturday (April 16, 2005) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was 81.
Born in Sylvester, Ga., on Nov. 6, 1923, he came to Lakeland from there in 1940. He worked in road maintenance for the state Department of Transportation. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans 28 in Lakeland. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.
Mr. Hayes is survived by his wife, Edith Marie Hayes; son, Gerald W. Hayes, Lakeland; daughter, Marie Mansfield, Lakeland; and sister, Genora Sumer, Largo.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lanier Funeral Home, Lakeland. Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.
MAX GOODMAN, 90
Fight Trainer
WINTER HAVEN -- Mr. Max Goodman of Winter Haven died of kidney failure Sunday (April 17, 2005) at Winter Haven Hospital. He was 90.
Born in Chicago on Aug. 28, 1914, he came to Winter Haven from Miami Beach in 1996. He was a fight trainer at the Fifth Street Gym in Miami. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Goodman is survived by his companion, Katherine Dunn, Winter Haven.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.

ROBERT CRAWFORD, 80
Crawford Electric
LAKE WALES -- Mr. Robert Jay Crawford of Lake Wales died of pneumonia Saturday (April 16, 2005) at Lake Wales Medical Centers. He was 80.
Born in Jersey City, N.J., on Sept. 7, 1924, he came to Lake Wales from Chester, Vt., 29 years ago. He was the retired owner and operator Crawford Electric of 16 years. He was a Navy Sea Bees veteran of World War II, serving as an electrician's mate third class. He was a member of the Chester Rotary, Chester American Legion and the Chester Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the Congregational Church in Chester.
Mr. Crawford is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruth Crawford; daughter, Barbara Donnies, Cambridge, N.Y.; son, Robert James Crawford, Chester, Vt.; and seven grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the River Ranch Chapel at River Ranch Resorts, State Road 60 East.
Memorials may be made to the Chester Congregational Church in Chester, Vt.
FIDEL CHAVEZ, Infant
AUBURNDALE -- Master Fidel Chavez, the son of Rigoberto Chavez and Doniele Snedegar of Auburndale, died Saturday (April 16, 2005) at home. He was 3 months old.
He was born in Lakeland on Jan. 19, 2005.
In addition to this parents, Master Chavez is survived by his paternal grandparents, Fidel Chavez and Maria Emma Ramirez, Mexico; paternal great-grandmothers, Cebera Francico and Margarita Ramirez, both of Mexico; maternal grandparents, Peter and Rosella Snedegar, Auburndale; maternal great-grandmother, Vivian Krebs, Lakeland; and maternal great-grandfather, Mike Krebs, Kentucky.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, Auburndale. Services will follow at noon at St. Ann Catholic Church in Haines City. Burial will be in Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens.
ODELL SASNETT, 82
THONOTOSASSA -- Mr. Odell Odis Sasnett of Thonotosassa, who has family in Polk County, died of lung cancer Friday (April 15, 2005). He was 82.
Mr. Sasnett is survived by five children.
Services will be at 10 this morning at Stowers Funeral Home, Brandon. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

WINTER HAVEN -- Mrs. Dorothy Lee Bryant of Winter Haven died of heart failure Friday (April 15, 2005) at home. She was 77.
Born in Oran, Mo., on Oct. 21, 1927, she came to Winter Haven from Detroit in 1970. She was a micro welder and hotel manager for Budget Inn in Winter Haven. She was a member of Winter Haven Baptist Church.
Mrs. Bryant is survived by her son, Barry Allen Bryant, Romeo, Mich.; sisters, Doris Marie Cooper, Winter Haven, and Edna Faye Fulton, Clarkston, Mich.; and one grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

LAKELAND -- Mr. Alexander Barnes of Lakeland died of lung failure Thursday (April 14, 2005) at Lakeland Hills Center. He was 63.
Born in Sparta, Ga., he came to Lakeland from there 41 years ago. He was a concrete finisher for a construction company. He was a member of Second Darian Baptist Church in Sparta.
Mr. Barnes is survived by his sons, Aldrich Barnes, Sparta, Ga., Jeffrey Barnes, Maurice Pouncey, Almando Pouncey and Noah Robinson, all of Lakeland, and D'Jaun Barnes and Dwayne Barnes, both of Averia, Ga.; daughter, Tarsha Robinson, Lakeland; brothers, Eugene Barnes and Carl Barnes, both of Lakeland, and Collins Barnes, Milledgeville, Ga.; sister, Geraldine Burkes, Tampa; and 24 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 tonight at H.W. Oldham Funeral Home, Lakeland. Services will be at noon Wednesday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Tiger Flowers Cemetery.

Midstate Machine and Fabrication
LAKELAND -- Mr. George A. Addison of Lakeland died of cancer Sunday (April 17, 2005) at Oakbridge Healthcare Center. He was 75.
Born in Marshalltown, Iowa, on Jan. 19, 1930, he came to Lakeland from Brainerd, Minn., in 1984. He was semi-retired from Midstate Machine and Fabrication in Lakeland. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was an instructor at Military Academy at West Point, N.Y. He was a Protestant.
Mr. Addison is survived by his wife of 52 years, Edna Addison; daughters, Lynn Myers, Panama City, and Michelle Ratcliff, Johnstown, Colo.; sisters, Viola Johnson, Gainesville, Betty Klotz, Jesup, Iowa, and Mary Muldoon, Fairbank, Iowa; and two grandsons.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
