Marian L. Weist Lightcap, 74, of Port Charlotte, Fla., and formerly of Highland, Ind., passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2001.
Marian was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a devout Catholic.
Marian was born April 13, 1927, in Kentland, Ind. to Charles and Mae Strickland Weist. She graduated from Kentland High School in 1938 and attended Indiana University, pursuing a degree in Education.
She married Harold "Hal" Lightcap on April 10, 1944. During Marian's teaching career, she instructed children in the fourth grade. She taught school in the Catholic school system with assignments at St. John Bosco in Hammond and Our Lady of Grace in Highland.
Following her career in education, she was employed by the Indiana State Employment Commission in Hammond as a placement counselor. She was a member of the Pi Kappa Epsilon Sorority and served several terms as president.
She was also very involved in the parish at St. James Catholic Church in Highland. After retirement, Marian continued to be very involved in the church and the Port Charlotte retirement community. Marian was a member of San Antonio Catholic Church in Port Charlotte and was a past secretary of the San Antonio Women's Guild.
She was a past vice president and past president of the Social Club in Port Charlotte Village, where she initiated the Wine and Cheese Welcome Back Party and was involved in numerous other community activities.
She is survived by her loving husband, Hal; their four children, Douglas Lightcap of Delray Beach, Fla.; Margo (Joe) Flaherty of Hammond, Ind.; Craig (Pam) Lightcap of Eklhart, Texas; and Cheryl (Tom) Kemp of Highland; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Marian was preceded in death by a son, Charles Lightcap and grandaughter, Patricia Flaherty.
A Memorial Mass will celebrate Marian's life on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at San Antonio Catholic Church in Port Charlotte.

Archie J. Tutor
Archie J. Tutor, 87, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Saturday, June 23, 2001, following a brief illness at Charlotte Harbor Healthcare.
He was born Dec. 22, 1913, in Water Valley, Miss., and moved here in 1992 from Livonia, Mich. He retired from the City of Livonia where he worked in building maintenance. He was an Army Veteran of World War II, serving in France, a member of the American Legion Post 103 and a member of the Punta Gorda First Christian Church.
Mr. Tutor is survived by his wife of 60 years, Doris E. (Marsh) Tutor, whom he married May 16, 1941. Also surviving are his five children, James A. Tutor of Fowlerville, Mich., Archie C. Tutor of Spring Hill, Tenn., Brian S. Tutor of Livonia, Mich., Ada Jean Cleveland of Canton, Mich., and Linda Schaffer of Santa Rosa, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, 5200 Indian Springs Road, Punta Gorda, with military rites to follow. Friends may gather with the family from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Evelyn M. Enriquez
Evelyn M. Enriquez, 47, of Punta Gorda, Fla., died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, at Charlotte Regional Medical Center in Punta Gorda.
Evelyn was born Oct. 21, 1953 in Manila, Philippines, to the late Pablo J. and Natalia M. (Mojica) Enriquez. A resident of New Jersey for many years, she moved to Punta Gorda three years ago. A computer systems programmer, she was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include her son, Morris J. (MJ) Sapp of Davis, Calif.; her companion of 20 years, Paul Youmatzo of Punta Gorda; brothers, Henry Enriquez, Mario Enriquez and Pablo Enriquez Jr.; and sisters, Lydia Baldonado, Marietta Aldaya, Mary Lou Rivera, Mary Ann Lemence, Luzviminda Garces, and Marilyn Carolina.
Visitation and funeral services will be held this Monday, June 25, 2001 at Roberson Funeral Home, 215 Mary Street, Punta Gorda. Visiting hours will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with Scripture service led by Fr. Leszek Sikorski of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Punta Gorda, at 7 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Novaliches, Philippines.

Manuel Estrada
Manuel Estrada, 63, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died June 20, 2001 at IHS of Port Charlotte.
He was born March 11, 1938 in Puerto Rico and moved to this
area 10 years ago from Bronx, New York, after retiring as a Caretaker
J. with the New York City Housing Authority in 1990. He was of the
Catholic faith and was a veteran of the US Army.
He is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Celina Estrada of Port Charlotte; daughters, Annette Estrada of the Bronx and Jacqueline Martinez of Tampa, Fla.; sons, Noel Estrada of the Bronx and Manuel Rosado of Tennessee; stepdaughter, Alma Silva of Orlando, Fla., and stepson, Victor Berrios of Port Charlotte; 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; brothers, Manuel A. Estrada of the Bronx and Carmelo Estrada of Bayamon of Puerto Rico; sisters, Maria Estrada of Port Charlotte and Carmen Otero of Port Charlotte; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday June 23 at the Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services, 1515 Tamiami Trail, Punta Gorda. Graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday June 25 11:30 am at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
Mary Ann Kams
Mary Ann Kams, 89, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away June 14, 2001 in Kenmore Mercy Hospital in North Tonawanda, N.Y.
She was the owner and operator of a beauty salon from her Moyle Street home for over 25 years. She was a member of the German American Club, outstanding member of the Lion's Club, Federation Women's Club, Crafty Ladies and several church organizations.
Mrs. Kams was the daughter of the late William (Emily) Lenard and wife of
the late Karl Kams. Mrs. Kams is survived by her four children, Robert (Jeanne) Pettigrew of North Tonawanda, N.Y., Ralph (Janet) Pettigrew, Helen (Frank) Franco and Betty (Harold) Warrick; also surviving are 16 grandchildren 32 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2001 at the Peace River Church of Christ, 2623 Vasco St., Punta Gorda, with Minister Richard Norman officiating. The family is being served by Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, 5200 Indian Springs Road, Punta Gorda.
Jennie Mae Coats McDaniel
Jennie Mae Coats McDaniel, 90, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Thursday, June 21, 2001 following an extended illness.
She was born April 7, 1911 in Cedar Grove, Ga., and has lived here since 1973 when she moved from Mentar, Ohio. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. McDaniel is survived by her children, Robert W. McDaniel of Hudson, N.H., and Juanita Russell, of Punta Gorda; two brothers, Jack O'Neal of Williamstown, N.J., and Harold Coats of Chattanooga, Tenn. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Friday at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, 5200 Indian Springs Road, Punta Gorda.
Agatha Mitchell
Agatha Mitchell, 88, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, at Fawcett Memorial Hospital, Port Charlotte.
She was born Sept. 18, 1912, in Albania and moved to Port Charlotte in 1979 from Woburn, Massachusetts. She was of the Orthodox faith.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Nicholas Mitchell of Port Charlotte; a son, Michael R. (Helen) Mitchell of Port Charlotte; five sisters-in-law, Alexandria Mitchell, Antoinette Gildersleeve, Bickie Salter, Catherine Cox, and Clathie Lorentzen all of Port Charlotte; a brother-in-law, Robert Mitchell of Las Cruces, N.M.; two grandchildren, Linda M. Canty of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Michael R. Mitchell II of Oakton, Va.
Visitation was held Friday evening at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel with a Greek Orthodox Memorial Service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2001 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Port Charlotte. Kathryn Ellen Ramsey
Kathryn Ellen Ramsey, 95, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died Thursday, June 21, 2001 at Bon Secours-St. Joseph Nursing Center, Port Charlotte.
She was born Feb. 27, 1906 in Broadwell, Ill., and moved to Port Charlotte in 1979 from Chicago, Ill. She was a retired public school teacher. She was a member of the Port Charlotte United Methodist Church, and a former member of the Zonta Club, University of Illinois Alumni Club, Order of the Eastern Star and White Shrine of Jerusalem, all in Illinois.
She is survived by a niece, Marjorie E. Wright of Nashwauck, Minn.; one niece and two nephews in Canada.

Gale Homer Randall
Gale Homer Randall, 71, of North Port, Fla., died June 20, 2001 at Venice Hospice House, Venice, Fla.
He was born on July 22, 1929 in Elgin, Ill. He came to the area 10 years ago from Bartlett, Ill. He is a Veteran of the U.S. Army, and a member of the Social Club Hi Ho, in Harbor Isles. He enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Randall, of North Port; sons, Michael Randall, of Tucson, Ariz., Steve Randall, of Hanover Park, Ill., and Jim Randall of Lake in the Hills, Ill.; daughter, Sue (Dan) Putignano, of Elgin; brother, Arland Randall, of Brooksville, Fla., and five grandchildren.

Angelinn Ann Hafeli
Angelinn Ann Hafeli, 84, of Englewood, Fla., died June 18, 2001.
She was born Nov. 28, 1916, in Detroit, Mich., and came to this area in 1989 from Bay Village (Westlake), Ohio. She was a member and a Eucharist Minister at St. Raphael's Catholic Church and a member of the Lemon Bay Women's Club, both in Englewood.
She is survived by her husband, John; four daughters, Patricia Cardoni of Lido, Wis., Lynn Cronin of Tustin, Calif., Mary Stack of Zionsville, Ind. and Gail Lindner of Hanover Park, Ill.; a son, John of Chicago, Ill.; a sister, Sylvia Wysacki of Clinton Township, Mich.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. June 23, at St. Raphael's Catholic Church, Englewood. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Guenther Karl Stepanek, 55, of North Port, Fla., died June 20, 2001, at his residence.
He was born on July 7, 1945, in Czechoslavakia. He came to the area five years ago from Sparta, Ill.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy Stepanek, of North Port; sons, Gary Stepanek, of Missouri and Jerry Thurman of Florissant, Mo.; step-sons, Christopher Jahr, of Sarasota, Fla., and Todd Jahr, of North Port; his father and mother, Gerold and Hilde Stepanek.
A visitation will be held on Saturday from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the James A. McKee Funeral Homes, 14538 South Tamiami Trail in North Port.

Thomas L. Alger
Thomas L. Alger, 65, of Punta Gorda, Fla., died June 19, 2001.
He was born Oct. 25, 1935, in Queens, N.Y., to Thomas A. and Isabelle (Burns) Alger. Thomas moved to this area seven years ago from Chester, N.J. and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He served with the Army in Germany and retired from AT&T as a supervisor after 35 years of service. Thomas was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Gwen; sons, Thomas (Debra) Alger of Newton, N.J., Gary Alger of Morristown, N.J., and John (Kelly) Alger of Mendham, N.J.; grandchildren, Thomas and Lauren of Newton, N.J.
The family received friends Thursday at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. A mass of Christian burial in celebration of Thomas' life will be held at 11 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Margaret Julia Grimm Cella
Margaret Julia Grimm Cella, 83, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2001, following an extended illness.
She was born January 9, 1918, in Chicago, Ill., and moved to this area in 1988. She was a member of San Antonio Catholic Church. While in Chicago she spent many years as a bookkeeper. Survivors include four sons, Robert W. Cella of St. Louis, Mo., James R. Cella of Geneva, Ill., Martin S. Cella of Broomfield, Colo., and John L. Cella, Jr., of Punta Gorda; one sister, Eileen Walsh; grandchildren, Joseph, Margaret, Maureen, Matt, Greg, Jessica, Kristen, Scott, Dane and Jacqueline Cella.
Mrs. Cella was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Cella Sr., in 1982, a son, Michael J. Cella, in 1992, her parents, Walter and Gertrude Grimm, and two brothers, Robert and Walter Grimm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at San Antonio Catholic Church, 24445 Rampart Blvd., Port Charlotte.
