George Marsh
George W. Marsh, 83, St. Augustine, died Nov. 4, 1998. He moved to St. Augustine in 1970 from Vermont, and he was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. He was a retired granite salesman, and he served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
A memorial mass will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Flowers are gratefully declined, and those wishing may make a donation, in his memory, to the Corpus Christi Building Fund, POB 3064, St. Augustine, 32085.

Lawrence Mayer
Lawrence H. Mayer, 71, St. Augustine, died Nov. 3, 1998, at Flagler Hospital. He was born in Wheeling, W.Va., and he had resided in St. Augustine since 1962. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and he retired from the St. Augustine Technical Center.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Craig Funeral Home. Funeral services for Gertrude Agnes Stanton, 80, St. Augustine, who died Nov. 2, 1998, at Regents Park Nursing Home, Jacksonville, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Augustine. Margaret Vogl
Margaret A. Vogl, 85, St. Augustine Shores, died Nov. 3, 1998, at BayView/Samantha Wilson Care Center. She was born in Columbus, Ga., and she came to St. Augustine from Hialeah in 1992.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Independent Bible Church, with the Rev. Charles W. Lichtenberger Jr. officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Fitzgerald, Ga.

Royzie Washington
Royzie Lee Washington, 85, Palatka, died Oct. 29, 1998, at Putnam Community Medical Center, following an extended illness. She was born in Griffin, Ga., and she had resided in Palatka since 1965, moving there from Tifton, Ga. She was a member of the Zion Temple Church of God in Christ, and she served as assistant church mother.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, with Elder T.R. Ruth Jr., assistant pastor of Victorious Faith Church of God in Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Chapel of Serenity from 4-9 p.m., Friday, and at the church from 10 a.m. Saturday until noon at Zion Temple Church of God in Christ.
Mrs. Washington was the wife of the late Simon Washington Sr.
Survivors include seven daughters, Mattie Pearl Clark, Richmond Hill, N.Y., Bernice Leonard, East Palatka, Katherine Holdsclaw, Cambria Heights, N.J., Betty Jean Leonard, Jerlene Manley, Vandine Thornton, all of Palatka; Velma Lee Cue, Hastings; two sons, Nathaniel Washington, Frank Edward Washington, both of Houston, Texas; a stepson, Otis Seay, Jacksonville; 54 grandchildren, 143 great-grandchildren, 40 great-great-grandchildren and other relatives.

John Calorel III, 19, died Nov. 5, 1998. He was born in Brooklyn N.Y., and had resided in St. Augustine for two years. He had worked in retail sales at the St. Augustine Outlet Center and was of the Catholic faith.

He is survived by his parents, Laura and John Calorel Jr., St. Augustine; one sister, Victoria Calorel; one brother, Anthony Calorel; paternal grandparents, Mary and John Calorel Sr., all of St. Augustine; and maternal stepgrandfather, Daniel Gingrich, Brooklyn, N.Y.

Obe Goode
Obe Bing Goode, 80, of St. Augustine, died Nov. 6, 1998, at his home. He was a native and lifelong resident of St. Augustine. He was a profession golfer and house painter. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army in the Battle of the Bulge and received many commendations, including two Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star. He served as the assistant lighthouse keeper and lifeguard instructor in his younger days. He was heritage native of St. Augustine and was a member of the second oldest family in Florida.
