Joseph McPherson
Joseph R. McPherson, 80, St. Augustine, died Nov. 19, 1998, at his home. He was born in Missoula, Mont., and he had resided here for the past 14« years. He was a retired U.S. Air Force colonel, serving as pilot, and he was a veteran of World War II. He was 33nd degree Mason, and he was a member of the El Paso Lodge No. 13, F&AM, Colorado Springs, Col.

Clifford Williams
Clifford Charles Williams, 76, Hastings, died Nov. 18, 1998, at St. Luke Hospital. He was born in St. Augustine, and he had resided in Hastings since 1966. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, serving on the usher board, and he was employed by the Greyhound Bus Station for many years and was a taxi driver for Minute Man Cab Company. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Rosa Lee Williams, Hastings; daughters, Sandra Glass, Miami, Cynthia Williams, Jacksonville, Pauline Gillard, St. Augustine, Charlene Merritt, Jacksonville; stepchildren, Dianne Chase, St. Augustine, Joyce Oliver, Elaine Hillard, both of Jacksonville, Gracetia Oliver, North Carolina; sisters, Helen Hunter and Rosa Lee Mallory, St. Augustine.

Thomas Freeman
Thomas J. Freeman, St. Augustine, died Nov. 17, 1998, at his home, in peace, surrounded by his family. He was born in Long Island City, N.Y., and he was retired from the NYC Transportation Authority, MABSTOA Division, in 1972. He married his loving wife, Peggy, on 10-23-48 in Manhattan, N.Y.C., N.Y. He served in the Army Air Corps in World War II.
He was a life member of the VFW Post 535, Englewood-Tenafly, N.J., an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus No. 611, and past faithful navigator of Fourth Degree, Knights, Bishop Perot Assembly of St. Augustine; BPOE No. 829, St. Augustine; Ancient Order of Hibernians, St. Johns County, Division I, St. Brendan the Navigator.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy, and children, Thomas of St. Augustine; Patrick of St. Marys, Ga.; Deborah (Dufresne) and son-in-law, Ernie of Colorado; Brendan and daughter-in-law, Tina, of St. Augustine; three grandchildren, T.J., William and Deirdre; a brother, Charles of Monroe, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Croyle Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m., Friday, where services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Augustine. Burial will be in San Lorenzo Cemetery.

Frank J. Murphy
Frank J. Murphy, 82, St. Augustine Beach and Hyattsville, Md., died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1998, at his St. Augustine Beach home. A native of Boston, Mass., he was a retired budget officer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and he had been a part-time resident of St. Augustine Beach for 25 years. He was of the Catholic faith.
Prayers will be recited at 6 p.m. today at the chapel of the Craig Funeral Home, with the Rev. Seamus O'Flynn, pastor of St. Anastasia Catholic Church, officiating. Friends may call at the Craig chapel from 5 to 7 p.m., today.
Funeral services will be held in Hyattsville, under the direction of Gasch's Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, Md.

Muriel D. Holt, 88, Shalimar, died Nov. 12, 1998, at Memorial Hospital, Ormond Beach. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and she moved to Florida 30 years ago from Jeffersonville, N.Y. She was retired from the N.Y. Telephone Company. A former St. Augustine resident, she was also retired from the Flagler Hospital business office, and while in St. Augustine, she was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Raleigh Laverne McMullen, 72, died Nov. 3, 1998. Born and raised in St. Augustine, he attended local schools. He was a machinist's mate, serving in the United States Navy in World War II. He was a machinist for the Florida East Coast Railway in New Smyrna Beach. He retired from the Seaboard Coastline Railway in Miami.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Ortagus McMullen, and a son, Randy McMullen.
He is survived by his daughter, Vanessa Willimon, St. Augustine; a sister, Nancy Smith, St. Augustine; a brother, Pat McMullen, Cedar Bluff, Ala.; and one granddaughter.

Maymo E. Staninger Hart, 89, St. Augustine, died Nov. 21, 1998, at Sefton Park Lodge. She was born in Double Springs, Ala., and she had resided here since 1988. She was retired from the Winter Haven Hospital. She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose, Winter Haven, the Green Thumb Garden Club of Winter Haven, and she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, St. Augustine.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Craig Funeral Home, with the Rev. J. O. McLeod, evangelist, officiating. Burial will be in the City of Winter Haven Cemetery, with graveside rites at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Rev. Gerald Vallee
The Rev. Gerald A. Vallee, 61, former associate pastor at both the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Augustine and at Christ the King Catholic Parish, Jacksonville, died Nov. 21, 1998 at Flagler Hospital. He was injured Nov. 5 in an automobile accident in St. Johns County.
Father Vallee was ordained in the Diocese of St. Augustine May 25, 1985, by Bishop John J. Snyder during ceremonies at the Cathedral. His first assignment was at the Cathedral, followed by his appointment to Christ the King parish. In June 1993, he was appointed administrator of the Mission San Juan in Branford, where he served until June 1997. At the time of the accident, he was living in residence at San Sebastian Parish, St. Augustine.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Augustine. Burial will be in San Lorenzo Cemetery. A vigil service begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Cathedral.

Rev. W.L. Bell
The Rev. William L. Bell died Nov. 22, 1998, at Sycamore View Nursing Home, Memphis, Tenn. He was a native of St. Augustine and a graduate of Excelsior High School, Moorhouse College and Boston University, and he had resided in Memphis for more than 50 years. He was a retired minister, having served Bethel Lutheran Church, and he was a retired teacher in the Memphis school system.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Friday with the Forest Hill Funeral Home, Memphis, in charge. Burial will be in Veterans' Cemetery, West Memphis.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests prayers in their time of bereavement.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and five brothers.
Survivors include one niece, Cherry McDougle, St. Augustine; and other relatives.
Warren Nulty
Warren James Nulty, 66, St. Augustine, died Nov. 22, 1998, at his home. He was born in Cambridge, N.Y., and he had resided here since 1985. He was a retired dairy farmer. He was a member of the Easton United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at a later date in Greenwich, N.Y., with the Flynn Brothers Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Suzanne Nulty, St. Augustine; one daughter, Judy Lee Nulty, Greenwich; a son, James Nulty III, Easton, N.Y.; a sister, Anne Hobbs, St. Augustine; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services for the Rev. Gerald A. Vallee, 61, former associate pastor at the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Augustine, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Augustine. Burial will be in San Lorenzo Cemetery. A vigil service begins at 7 p.m. today at the Cathedral.
Father Vallee died Nov. 21 from injuries sustained in a Nov. 5 auto accident.
Survivors include four sisters, Marie-Claire Auclair, Palm Bay, Cecile Bulecza, Pauline Stanley, Marguerite Burton, all of Tallahassee.
