Deaconess Anna Lee Jackson, 82, 84 Park Place, died Dec. 16, 1998, at Memorial Hospital, Jacksonville. She was born in Hampton, S.C., and she had resided here since early childhood.
She was a member of St. Paul AME Church, and was a member of the deaconess board and Senior Stars.
She was the wife of the late Rev. Anthony Jackson Sr., AME church pastor.
Survivors include one son, Anthony Jackson Jr., Philadelphia, Pa.; daughters, Hermine Hart, Jacksonville, Margaret Copeland, Joanava Jackson, St. Augustine; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and other relatives.
Arrangements will be announced by Chase and Son Funeral Home.
Lynn Mann
Lynn Marie Mann, 39, St. Augustine, died Nov. 22, 1998, in Flagler Hospital. She was born in Appling County, Ga., and she had resided in St. Augustine for the past 10 years. She was a member of Red Oak Baptist Church, Georgia.
Graveside services were held Nov. 24 at 1 p.m. at Antioch Congregational Christian Church Cemetery, with Pastor Randy and Pastor Agnes Sellers officiating.
Survivors include three daughters, Brandy and Mandy Mann, both of Baxley, Ga., Misty Mann, Winter Haven; one son, Jason Mann, Baxley; her mother, Betty Dean, St. Augustine; a sister, Jennifer Leigh Dubberly, St. Augustine; maternal grandmother, Cleo Chancey, Baxley; and other relatives.

Sister Rosarii
Funeral services for Sister Maria Rosarii Gentile, SSJ, 85, who died Dec. 13, 1998, at Flagler Hospital, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday and vigil prayer service will be at 7 p.m. today. Both services will be held in the chapel of St. Joseph Convent. Burial will be in San Lorenzo Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a contribution, in her memory, to the Sisters of St. Joseph Development Fund, to be used for the needs of the retirement home and the ministries of the Sisters.

Anna Shepard, 92, Conway, S.C., died Dec. 15, 1998, at the Conway Hospital. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and she was the wife of the late John Andrew Shepard.
Survivors include one daughter, Jean A. Witt, Conway; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, some of whom reside in this area.

Mark Anthony Blocker, two-month-old son of Mark Wayne and Shirley Lee Blocker, Hastings, died Dec. 15, 1998, at his home. He was born in Jacksonville.
Graveside services will be held at noon Friday at San Lorenzo Cemetery, with Father Tim Lindenfelser, associate pastor of the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Augustine.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include two sisters, Shirley Colleen and Katlyn Lee Blocker, Hastings; his paternal grandparents, Marvin and Jane Blocker, Elkton; maternal grandparents, Timothy and Shirley Mitchem, Hastings; paternal great-grandparents, James and Beatrice Harkey, Palatka; and Dorthea and Leroy Kinlaw, St. Augustine; maternal great-grandparents, Doris Mitchem, Jacksonville, John and Shirley Hartley, St. Augustine.

Peter Michael Grittano, 79, St. Augustine, died Dec. 15, 1998, at Flagler Hospital. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and he had resided her since 1981. He owned an aluminum siding business, and he was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II. He was a member of Moose Lodge No. 1017, and he was a member of the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Augustine.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Augustine. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at Craig Funeral Home chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today. Prayers will be said at 7 p.m. today at Craig chapel.
Survivors include two brothers, Bennie Grottano, Long Island, N.Y., and Stephen Grettana,cq Palm Beach Gardens.
Valerie Kroll
Valerie Jo Rubnich Kroll, 48, South Street, St. Augustine, died Dec. 12, 1998, in Cocoa Beach. She was born in Peoria, Ill., and she moved to St. Augustine 20 years ago, coming from Daytona Beach. While in St. Augustine, she worked as a lab technician, and she served on the St. Augustine Beach Commission, seat 3. She was known as an avid environmentalist who was instrumental in placing the Swedeners Hairsteak butterfly and the Anastasia Beach Mouse on the endangered species list, and she also fought the Fleeman Tract Development on A1A. She was given the honor of nominating the land to the state for purchase of a state park in 1987.
She was also a licensed pilot, having received her license at the age of 16.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Dale Woodward Funeral Home Chapel by the Sea, 1780 Ocean Shore Blvd., Ormond Beach, with the Rev. V. Leo Kinnett officiating.
Survivors include a son, Albert Kroll III, St. Augustine; a daughter, Kailani Jo Kroll, St. Augustine; a brother, Jay Rubnich, St. Augustine; and one sister, Sandra Rubnich Haddad, Ormond Beach.
David Swenszkowski
David Swenszkowski, 44, St. Augustine, died Dec. 16, 1998, at Flagler Hospital. He was born in Utica, N.Y., and he had resided here for the past 12 years. Prior to moving to St. Augustine, he was a chemist with Research Triangle. In St. Augustine, he was employed with St. Augustine Health Care and Rehabilitation.
Burial will be at a later date in Utica.
Survivors include his father, Henry Swenszkowski, St. Augustine; and one brother, Thomas Swenszkowski, Jacksonville.

Robert Douglas Mattingly, 78, St. Augustine, died Dec. 16, 1998, at his home. He was born in Washington, D.C., and he had resided here since 1974. He was retired from NASA, where he worked as a mechanical engineer, and he was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. S. Dwight McQueen, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery, La Crosse, Fla.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Mattingly, St. Augustine; three daughters, Mary Ruth Brown, Tucson, Ariz., Cheryl May Verfurth, Marsha Dawn Parsons, both of St. Augustine; one stepdaughter, Robin Wilson, St. Augustine; one son, Robert Douglas Mattingly II, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mildred Christina McPherson, 72, 1040 W. Chapin St., died Dec. 15, 1998, at Flagler Hospital. She was born in Fernandina Beach, and she had resided here for the past 45 years. She was a member of Kingdom Hall, and she was the wife of the late Marion (KC) McPherson. They were married for more than 50 years.

Juanita Sarramia, 89, St. Augustine, died Dec. 17, 1998, at Mariner Health Care. She was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and she moved to the United States in 1964. She was known as the granny of Jack's Barbecue.
Survivors include four children, Esther, Jorge, Osvaldo and Luis; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mary May Walton, 85, St. Augustine, died Dec. 17, 1998, at her home. She was a lifelong resident of St. Augustine, and she was the wife of the late Jack Walton.

Margaret Clark
Margaret (June) Clark, 75, St. Augustine, died Dec. 10, 1998, at Flagler Hospital. She was born in Altoona, Pa., and she had resided here since 1946.
She was a member and a deacon at Memorial Presbyterian Church, and she was a member of the Beta Sigma Sorority, Junior Service League and Flagler Hospital Auxiliary. She volunteered for Learn to Read, and she earned her bachelor's degree in English from Jacksonville University in 1972. She was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Coast Guard.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Memorial Presbyterian Church, with Dr. John Hunter, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
