Katie Mae Gates, 87, Jacksonville, a former St. Augustine resident, died Dec. 21, 1998. She was a member of Faith Holiness Miracle Temple, Jacksonville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith Holiness Miracle Temple, 1860 W. Fifth St., with Bishop Desso Benjamin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery. Friends may call at Marion Graham Mortuaries, 1504 Gandy St., Jacksonville, from 5 to 8 p.m., today.
The cortege will assemble at the residence at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Survivors include daughters, Annie Gates-Strive, Charlene Gates, Mary Hall-Williams, Cathy Gates; sons, James Gates Jr., Isaiah Gates, David Gates; sisters, Charlene Williams, Mary Ellen Howard; and other relatives.
Thomas Lewis
Thomas H. Lewis, St. Augustine, died Dec. 21, 1998.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Demaine Springfield-Annandale Chapel, Backlick and Edsall Roads, Springfield, Va. Friends may call at the funeral home chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Lewis; a daughter, Michelene Neidermeyer, Lorton, Va.; one son, Michael Lewis, Sterling, Va.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
John Hart
John S. Hart, 84, St. Augustine Beach, died Dec. 24, 1998, at Flagler Hospital, following a short illness. He was born in Hastings, and he had lived in St. Augustine Beach for the past four years, moving there from Hastings where he had lived most of his life. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hastings, and he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in World War II. He received the Purple Heart for his war service.
He was a lifetime member of the DAV, and he was a lifetime member of the Florida Sheriff's Association. He retired after many years as a sorter with the U.S. Post Office. He was a member of the Florida Sheriff's Boys Ranch and the Alabama State Trooper Association.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home, Palatka, with the Rev. Brian Hart officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Palatka, with the U.S. Navy conducting full military honors. Friends may call at the Johnson-Overturf chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday.
Survivors include three sons, Dennis Hart, Hardeeville, S.C., William S. Hart, Satsuma, Kevin Hart, Valdosta, Ga.; a daughter, Sherry Quick, St. Augustine Beach; one sister, Ida Faye Irvin, DeLand; 10 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services for Thomas Stillman, 80, Jacksonville, who died Dec. 19, 1998, at the Samantha Wilson Care Center at BayView, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at North City Baptist Church, with the Rev. Emanuel Oliver, pastor, and the Rev. Jimmie Rogers, eulogist.
Burial will be in Sebastian Cemetery. Friends may call at Chase and Son Funeral Home chapel from 5 to 9 p.m., today, and at the church from noon Saturday until the time of services.
Helen Carubia
Helen M. Carubia, 77, St. Augustine and Crescent City, died Dec. 22, 1998, at Flagler Hospital. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and she moved here 30 years ago.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Carubia, St. Augustine, Lawrence Carubia, Hastings; one sister, Beatrice Via; and two granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held at a later date.

Anthony J. Leone Sr.
Anthony John Leone Sr., 85, of St. Augustine, died Friday, Dec. 25, 1998, at Flagler Hospital. He was born in Toluca, Ill., and came here in 1971. A former resident of Lavonia, Mich., he worked as a non-production material control supervisor for Ford Motor Company and was a signer of the first United Auto Workers contract with Ford. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
Prayers will be Monday at 5 p.m. at Craig Funeral Home with the Rev. William Mooney officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 until 8 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Leone, St. Augustine; two sons, David Leone, Sterling Heights, Mich., and Anthony Leone Jr., of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a sister, Lucille Hynes, El Paso, Ill.; a brother, Richard Leone, California; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Annie Greiner
Annie Melcher Greiner, 91, Green Cove Springs, died Dec. 27, 1998, in Magnolia Manor, Green Cove Springs, following a long illness. She was a native of St. Augustine, and was a longtime resident of Green Cove Springs.
She was the wife of the late Weston Greiner.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Green Cove Springs, with the Rev. Donal Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in San Lorenzo Cemetery, St. Augustine. Friends may call at Helm Funeral Home chapel from 7 to 9 p.m., today.

Pauline McClintock
Pauline McClintock, 88, St. Augustine, died Dec. 12, 1998. She had resided in St. Augustine for many years, moving here from Indiana.

Andrea Matheson Bowen, 58, Elkton, died Dec. 27, 1998, at Flagler Hospital. She was born in Boston, Mass.

Survivors include her husband, William C. Bowen; four sons, Thomas Matheson, Elkton, Christopher Matheson, Dunedin, Daniel Matheson, Voluntown, Conn., Martin Matheson, Preston, Conn.; a brother, John MacNeil, Pembroke, Mass.; and three grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her former husband, Martin Matheson, and a sister, Patricia Domal.

Sylvia Jackson
Sylvia Lee Jackson, 84, Jacksonville, died Dec. 29, 1998, at Memorial Hospital, Jacksonville. She was born in Fort Gaines, Ga., and she had resided in Jacksonville since 1945. She was a member of Friendly Baptist Church, where she served on the ushers board.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Friendly Baptist Church, 1721 W. 19th St., Jacksonville, with the Rev. Larry W. Monor, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, St. Augustine. Friends may call at Chase and Son Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m,. Friday, and at the church from 9 a.m. Saturday until the hour of services.
Survivors include her son, the Rev. Nathaniel Jackson, pastor of New St. James Baptist Church, St. Augustine; one brother, Willie Ed Fryer, Jacksonville; two sisters, Earmel Humphry, Ora Lee Fryer, both of Arbor, N.Y.; eight grandchildren and other relatives.
Sister St. Mark
Sister St. Mark Klieber, SSJ, who celebrated her 100th birthday Dec. 19, died Dec. 30, 1998, at Lourdes Hall, home for the infirmed and retired Sisters of St. Joseph. While at Lourdes Hall, she was an active sacristan for the Lourdes Hall chapel until her health did not allow her to continue. She was born in New York City, and, at the age of 23, she moved to DeLand and then to Jacksonville. In 1923, she joined the Sisters of St. Joseph.
She taught in many schools throughout Florida, including St. Agnes, St. Benedict and St. Joseph Academy in St. Augustine; St. Theresa, Coral Gables; St. Mary's and Immaculata High School, Miami; St. Stephen, West Hollywood; St. James, Orlando; and St. Mary's Home, Jacksonville.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the chapel of St. Joseph Convent. Burial will be in San Lorenzo Cemetery. A vigil prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Convent chapel.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a contribution, in her memory, to the Sisters of St. Joseph Development Fund, to be used for the needs of the retirement home and the ministries of the Sisters.
Survivors include a number of cousins.

Earl Manucy
Earl Marvin Manucy, 62, St. Augustine, died Dec. 29, 1998, at Flagler Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of St. Augustine, and he was retired from the Florida Power and Light Company. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Korea, and he was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 1263. He was a member of San Sebastian Catholic Church.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at San Sebastian Catholic Church, with the Rev. Thomas Walsh officiating.

Jay Cole Amonette, 82, St. Augustine, died Dec. 29, 1998, at Earl B. Hadlow Center, Jacksonville. He was born in Warren County, Tenn., and he had resided in St. Augustine since 1991. He owned a liquor store, and he was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was of the Baptist faith, and he was a member of American Legion, Mount Clements, Mich.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Craig Funeral Home. Burial will be later this week in Clinton Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at Craig chapel from 2 p.m. Thursday until the hour of services.
