Robert Bruce Pearson passed away at his home on January 20, 2000. He was born in Flint, Michigan, on May 2, 1930 and had resided in St. Augustine since 1953. He served a four-year enlistment in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.
He retired from the United States Postal Service in 1985 after 30 years of service. He was of the Methodist faith and was a member of American Legion Post 37, Ashlar Lodge No. 98, F & AM and York Rite Bodies. He also held membership in Morocco Temple and was an active member of the St. Augustine Shrine Club.
Mr. Pearson was pre-deceased by his two brothers, William C. Pearson and James H. Pearson. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Rita Bowles Pearson, and two daughters, Gwen D. Pearson and Pamela E. Pearson, all of St. Augustine, his granddaughter, Summer L. Butler and great-granddaughter Alexis A. Butler, both of Eglin Air Force Base.
He is also survived by an aunt, Lucille P. Hudiburg, Juno Beach; in-laws, Martha K. Pearson of Higley, Arizona; John W. and Linda M. Bowles of Orange Park; Donovan T. and Kristine H. Bowles of Green Cove Springs; cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday at Craig Funeral Home beginning at 12 noon with services following at 2:00 p.m. Masonic graveside rites will be bestowed at Atkins Cemetery, Blountstown, Florida, on Thursday afternoon.
George Hope Sr.
George E. Hope Sr., 93, Elkton, died Jan. 28, 2000, at Flagler Hospital. He was born in Danbury, Conn., and he had resided here for the past 12 years. He was a retired fireman, working for the city of Danbury. He was fourth degree Knights of Columbus, past grand knight; served as superintendent of fire alarms, and he was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Elkton.
Funeral services and burial will be in Danbury, with the Green Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Holmes, Las Cruces, N.M.; a son, George E. Hope Jr., Brookfield, Conn.; a stepdaughter, Janice Ruxton, Cos Cob, Conn.; three stepsons, Mark, Dave and Pete Holmes, all of Florida; and four grandchildren.

Aljar Monroe Jr.
Aljar Monroe Jr., 54, Green Cove Springs, died Jan. 27, 2000, in Orange Park Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident of Green Cove Springs. He was known as ``Pop'' during his high school and later years in life. He graduated from Dunbar High School, Green Cove Springs, and he was a Jehovah's Witness.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Green Cove Springs, with the Rev. R.L. Wright officiating. Friends may call at Chase and Son Funeral Home until 9 p.m., today, and the funeral cortege will assemble at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at 415 Harrison St., Green Cove Springs.
Survivors include sisters, Berta Sledge, Bertha Mae Stedger, Orlando, Mildred H. Johnson, Palm Springs, Calif., Sarah Battles, Green Cove Springs, Rosa Elizabeth Dawson, Orlando; and other relatives.
James Robinson
James E. Robinson, 78, St. Augustine, died Jan. 30, 2000, in Flagler Hospital. He was a native of St. Augustine.

Margarita Sherwood
Margarita ``Rita'' Sherwood, 90, St. Augustine, died Jan. 30, 2000, at her home. She was born in Naugatuck, Conn., and she had resided in Florida since 1951.
Private services were held.
Survivors include her husband, Curtiss D. Sherwood, St. Augustine; two daughters, Susan Sherwood, St. Petersburg, Robin Sherwood Heffley, St. Augustine; two sons, Curtiss ``Kerry'' Sherwood, Pomona Park, Stephen Sherwood, Johnson City, Texas; two sisters, Vivian Raymond, Ipswich, Mass., Clementine Taylor, West Chester, Pa.; one brother, David St. John, San Francisco, Calif.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mother Willie Mae Wilbur, 76, 240 Scott St., died Jan. 30, 2000, at Flagler Hospital, following an extended illness.

Charles Banks
Charles E. Banks, 61, Live Oak, died Jan. 31, 2000, at his home, following a short illness. He was born in St. Augustine, and he moved to Live Oak from Jacksonville in 1976. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in Korea and Vietnam as a hard hat and in demolition. He was a member and song leader of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, Live Oak, and he was service supervisor engineer with the U.S. Natural Resources, Irvington-Moore, Jacksonville.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bobby McCray and the Rev. Quincy Simmons officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Daniels Funeral Home, Live Oak, from 6 to 9 p.m., Wednesday.
Mr. Banks was predeceased by his mother, Clara M. McNair; his stepmother, Myrtice Banks; and sisters Margie Johnson and Hazel Starling.

Kathleen D. Nephew, 83, St. Augustine, died Jan. 31, 2000, in Flagler Hospital. She was born in Omar, W.Va., and she had resided here for the past 20 years. She was a member of San Sebastian Catholic Church.

James E. Robinson
James E. Robinson, 78, St. Augustine, died Jan. 30, 2000, in Flagler Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of St. Augustine, and he had worked for the Florida East Coast Railway. He retired from the Seaboard Coastline Railroad.

Betty Jane Bohannon, 70, St. Augustine, died Jan. 31, 2000, at her home. She was born in Anderson, Ind., and she had resided here since 1979. She had been employed by Wal-Mart for the past 10 years. She was of the Catholic faith.

Gordon Fischer
Gordon Fisher, 50, Ocala, died Jan. 31, 2000, at his home. He was born in St. Augustine, and he moved to Ocala 20 years ago from Inverness. He was band director for the Fort King Middle School in Ocala, and he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ocala, where he served as a deacon and orchestra member. He served as minister of music for numerous churches in the Marion Baptist Association.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church of Ocala, with Dr. Edward D. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the church from 6 to 8 p.m., today.

Charles Haynes
Charles B. Haynes, 80, St. Augustine and Sturbridge, Mass., died Jan. 30, 2000, at his home. He was born in Boston, and had been a resident of Hingham, Mass., for more than 30 years, prior to moving to St. Augustine and Sturbridge. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II, and he was retired from Boston Edison. He was a member of the Weymouth Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Haynes. She died in 1995.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Chesmore Funeral Home, 854 Washington St., Route 16, Holliston, Mass. Burial will be in Lake Grove Cemetery.

Charles Mould
Charles Robert (Bob) Mould, 83, Jacksonville, died Jan. 28, 2000, in Jacksonville. He was born in Buffalo, N.Y., and he spent most of his life in Florida. He attended Ketterlinus High School, St. Augustine, and the University of Florida, Gainesville. He was a Navy pilot, serving in both World War II and the Korean War.

Francis L. Tague, 52, St. Augustine, died Jan. 31, 2000, at Flagler Hospital. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., and he had resided here since 1995. He was a retired master sergeant for the U.S. Army, working as a recruiter for many years, and he was a member of the DAV.
Private burial services will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Feb. 11.
