Eleanor Rhea Welch Middleton, 95, St. Augustine, died Feb. 23, 2000, at the Samantha Wilson Care Center at BayView in St. Augustine. She was born in Midland, Texas, grew up in Jeanerette, La., and had resided in West Palm Beach and Lakeland. She was a communicant of the Episcopal Church, was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Jeanerette, and was active in the West Palm Beach and Lakeland garden clubs. She supported the ASPCA and the World Wildlife Federation and the Save Our Bridge Committee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Roche Middleton, a county engineer. He died in West Palm Beach in 1962.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Evergreen Cemetery, with the Rev. Deena Galantowicz, associate rector of Trinity Episcopal Parish, officiating.
Survivors include one daughter, Dr. Sue Adine Middleton Bates, St. Augustine; a son, Stephen Causey Middleton II, West Palm Beach; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Curtis Morris, 66, St. Augustine, died Feb. 19, 2000, at his home. A gathering of friends is planned from 5-7 p.m. today at Craig Funeral Home chapel. Private burial services will be held at a later date.
Willie Spates
Funeral services for Willie Spates, 78, 21 Lovett St., who died Feb. 15, 2000, at Flagler Hospital, following an extended illness, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel of Chase and Son Funeral Home, with the Rev. John D. Williams officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at Chase chapel from 5 to 9 p.m., today, and from 9 a.m. Friday until the hour of services.

Thomas Bell
Thomas Edison ``Ted'' Bell, 81, St. Augustine, died Feb. 22, 2000, at Flagler Hospital. He was born in Orangeburg County, S.C., March 8, 1918, and he was a civil servant in World War II, serving in the Army Signal Corps and doing some research in radar technology. Following this, he worked in the motion picture industry for 30 years, building and operating theaters in northeast Florida and southern Georgia, including the Plaza Twin Theaters in St. Augustine.
He was past president of the John Gorrie Junior High School and Forrest High Dads' Club in Jacksonville, and past president of the Downtown Merchants Association in New Smyrna Beach, and a member of the New Smyrna Beach Rotary Club. He was member of the National Association of Theatre Owners and worked diligently for the Will Rodgers Institute for the Prevention of Pulmonary Disease. He served on the St. Augustine Architectural Review Board, and he was a commissioner for the St. Johns County Mosquito Control District for 12 years and was a past chairman and member of the intergovernmental board. He coached Junior League Baseball in Duval County and was also involved in Little League with his grandson in St. Johns County. He was a member of Cathedral Parish.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Augustine, with the Rev. Father Tim Lindenfelser, associate pastor of the Cathedral, officiating. Friends may call at Craig Funeral Home chapel from 5 to 8 p.m., today. Prayers will be said at 6:30 p.m., today, at Craig chapel.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Edgewater Cemetery, New Smyrna Beach.

Judith Richmond
Judith L. Hunt Lyden Richmond, 60, St. Augustine, died Feb. 18, 2000, at Flagler Hospital. She had resided here since 1976, moving to St. Augustine from Connecticut. She was extremely active in Special Olympics and Catholic Charities, and she was a member of Cathedral Parish.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Augustine.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Lyden II.
Survivors include a son, William F. Lyden III, St. Augustine; a daughter, Kathy Gauthier, Hyde Park, Mass.; her mother, Helen M. Thompson, St. Augustine; two brothers, Paul V. Hunt Jr., Bedford, N.H., John J. Norton Jr., Beverly, Mass.; a sister, Kathleen Moore, St. Augustine; three grandchildren and other relatives.

Carole Floyd
Carole Jones Floyd, 58, Melbourne, died May 16, 2000, at Holmes Regional Medical Center, Melbourne. She was born in Hastings to the late Moses Jones Sr. and Drunella Jones, and she graduated from Walter E. Harris High School, attended Brevard Community College and Tuskegee Institute in Alabama. She was a member of Greater Allen Chapel AME Church, Melbourne.
She was assistant director of Genesis House, Inc., for battered, pregnant and abused women, a medically retired distribution associate with Rite Aid, Inc., electro cardiographer with the Brevard County Health Department and an obstetrics nurse at Weustoff Memorial Hospital, Rockledge.
She had served as president of the South Brevard Chapter Branch, NAACP, Genesis House, Inc., region 9, Democratic Women's Club, Palm Bay Democratic Women's Club, Happy Lions Club, Queen No. 98, OES, Heroines of Jericho, Duchess Club, chamber of commerce, a former chairman of the Brevard County Board of Education committee, and she served on church committees.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at the Greater Allen Chapel AME Church, Melbourne with the Rev. J.S. Morice, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery, Hastings.
Survivors include two daughters, Romona Floyd Kelly, Chester, Va., Carole Ann Floyd, Orlando; two sons, Sylvester G. Floyd Jr., Cocoa, James M. Peter Nunchuck
Peter Joseph Nunchuck, 73, St. Augustine, died May 17, 2000, at his home. He was born in Gary, W.Va., and he had resided in St. Augustine since 1952. He was retired from WASHAC and also from Fairchild Aviation, where he worked as an aircraft mechanic. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II, and he was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, and he also served as a sacristan at the church.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Burial will be in San Lorenzo Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 5 to 7 p.m., today, and prayers will be said at 7 p.m. today at the church.
Mr. Nunchuck was preceded in death by a son, Peter Casimir Nunchuck.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine, a son, Paul Nunchuck, both of St. Augustine; two sisters, Mary Ehrig, Upland, Calif., Anne Stelling, Yucca Valley, Calif.; two brothers, Wash Nunchuck, St. Augustine, Paul Nunchuck, Chicago, Ill.; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services for Curtis Leroy Williams Jr., infant son of Curtis Leroy Williams Sr. and Tarnisha Anderson, both of St. Augustine, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at San Lorenzo Cemetery, with the Rev. Herman C. Ayres, 93, St. Augustine, died April 5, 1999, at St. Johns Health Care. He was born in Troy, Pa. and he had resided here since 1959. He was the former owner of Pure Oil Company in St. Augustine, and he was a retired farmer in Pennsylvania, moving to St. Augustine after retiring as a cattle farmer. He was of the Methodist faith.

He was a retired Real Estate Broker. He was a veteran of World War II, serving from 1941-45 in the 6th Ranger Battalion Company F. He was awarded the Bronze Star for liberating a prisoner of war camp. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Irene Russo
Irene Russo, 87, a former St. Augustine resident, died March 18, 1999, in California. She was born in Hopkins County, Texas, and she moved to St. Augustine in 1953 from Dallas, Texas, remaining here until 1991, when she moved to Westlake Village, Calif. She and her late husband, Sam Russo, owned and operated the former Flamingo Restaurant, and they were active in several St. Augustine garden clubs, the Flagler Hospital Auxiliary and the Loyal Order of the Moose. Mr. Russo died in 1989.
