Catherine Thompson
Catherine M. Thompson, Jacksonville, died June 26, 1997, at Arbors of Jacksonville. She was born in Macon, Ga., and she had resided here since 1917, moving to Jacksonville in 1994. She was a secretary for Florida East Coast Railway, working for FEC for 39 years, and she was a member of Cathedral Parish and a member of the Cathedral Altar Guild. She was also a member of the St. Joseph Academy Alumni Association. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Augustine, with the Rev. Ed Booth, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in San Lorenzo Cemetery. Prayers will be said at 6 p.m. today at Craig Funeral Home chapel. Friends may call at Craig chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. today. Survivors include one sister, Marie Meiten, Riveria Beach, and a brother, Dr. Richard Thompson, Jacksonville.

Neal Runkle
Funeral services for Neal N. Runkle, 65, St. Augustine, who died June 23, 1997, at Flagler Hospital East, will be held at 7 p.m. today at Craig Funeral Home chapel. Friends may call at Craig chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

Wilbur Johnson
Wilbur Daniel "Dan" Johnson, 79, 608 Lafayette Ave., Cayce, S.C., died May 26, 1997. He was born in Johnston, S.C., the son of the late Wilbur R. and Sarah M. Smith Johnson, and he had resided in Cayce since 1964. He attended State Street Baptist Church, and he retired in 1980 from the South Carolina Department of Agriculture, Division of Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Inspection. He was a member of the S.C. State Employees Association. He was a former resident of Hastings, having worked for the government in the field of agricultural inspection. Funeral services were held May 29 in West Columbia, S.C., with burial in Southland Memorial Gardens. Those wishing may make a contribution, in his memory, to a favorite charity. Survivors include his wife, Rhoda Goodwin Johnson, one daughter, Beth Howell, Lexington, S.C.; sons and daughters-in-law, Duane and Phyllis Johnson, Waldorf, Md., Danny and Frankie Johnson, West Columbia, Daryl and Melissa Johnson, Cayce; a sister, Willette Cornell, Johnston; one brother, the Rev. Patterson Smith Johnson, Chapin, S.C.; a grandson, three granddaughters and one great-granddaughter. Also surviving are a number of relatives in the Hastings and Elkton areas.

Tommy Bean
Tommy D. Bean, 67, died June 26, 1997, at his home in Orangedale. Born in Warren, Pa., he served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a firefighter for 30 years before moving to Florida where he was employed by Memorial Hospital as a security guard. He also served as chief of the Colee Cove Fire Department and was a member of Servants of Christ Episcopal Church.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Servants of Christ Episcopal Church, Fruit Cove. Burial will be at a later date. Friends may call at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Blvd., Mandarin, Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. Flower are gratefully declined, and those wishing may make a contribution, in his memory, to Hospice Northeast, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Geary W. and Chrissy Bean, and by a brother, Robert Bean.
He is survived by his wife, Alyson; two sons, Geary D. and Donald Bean; two daughters, Mary Katherine Hagberg and Cherryl Sackett; a brother, Dr. Richard Bean; nine grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Will Evans
Funeral services for Willie James (Will) Evans, 72, East Ashland Avenue, Hastings, who died June 23, 1997, at the Ponce de Leon Care Center, following a long illness, will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Lord's Temple Church, with Pastor Thomas Cave III officiating. Burial will be in Armstrong Cemetery. Friends may call at Coleman's Mortuary Chapel from 5-8:30 p.m. today, and at the church from 2:30 p.m. Sunday until the hour of services.

Charles Johnson
Funeral services for Charles Alexander Johnson, 48, 800 W. King St., who died June 21, 1997, at University Medical Center, Jacksonville, will be held at noon today at E.A. Kelley Sr. Memorial Church of God in Christ, with Elder E.A. Kelley Jr., pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine Memorial Park. Friends may call at the church from 11 a.m. today until the hour of services.

Paul McDonald
Paul A. McDonald, 80, of Rockland, Mass., died June 26, 1997, at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, Mass. He was born in Boston, the son of Roderick and Margaret Foley McDonald. He was raised in Roxbury and Readville, and had been a resident of Rockland for 43 years. He retired as a machinist for the Boston Globe. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, and he was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerial Workers.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 403 Union St., Rockland. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery in Rockland. Friends may call at Sullivan Funeral Home, 45 E. Water St., Rockland, Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined. Those wishing may make a contribution, in his memory, to the Uncompensated Patient Care Account, 55 Fogg Road, South Weymouth, Mass. 02190.
He is survived by his wife, Stasia E. McDonald; five sons, John A. McDonald, Everett, Mass., Thomas R. McDonald, St. Augustine, Peter M. McDonald, Needham, Mass., Francis P. McDonald, Burbank, Calif., and Stephen J. McDonald, Pembroke, Mass.; a daughter, Rita Kelley, Hanson, Mass.; a sister, Ruth Keegan, Chatham, Mass.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Ruth Swann
Ruth E. Swann, 90, died June 26, 1997, at Blake Hospital in Bradenton following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Raymond Swann, and a former resident of Brockton, Mass., where she lived for many years, prior to moving to Florida in January of this year. She worked for Knapp Shoe and Alden Shoe, from which she retired in 1975, in Brockton. She was an honorary member of Pilgrim Chapter Order of Eastern Star for 25 years, and a member of the Abington Grange and Christ Congregational Church in Brockton.
She is survived by a daughter, Winifred Howard, formerly of Brockton and now residing in Bradenton; two grandchildren, Linda Howard and Dale Howard, Brockton; two brothers, George Blanchard, Cummaquid, Mass., and David Blanchard, St. Augustine; a sister, Olive Leach, Albuquerque, New Mexico; and two sisters-in-law, Barbara Blanchard of Cummaquid, Mass., and Pat Blanchard of St. Augustine.
A memorial service will be held at the First Church of West Bridgewater at a later date, with the Rev. Marguerite Voelkel officiating. Dahlborg MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton, Mass., is in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy Dodds
Dorothy C. Dodds, 71, St. Augustine, died June 27, 1997, at her daughter's home. She was born in Wytheville, Va., and moved here in 1945. She was a requisition clerk for the federal government for 30 years. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church where she served in the choir and St. Elizabeth's Guild.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., with Pastor Deena Galantowicz officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Those wishing may make a contribution, in her memory, to Trinity Episcopal Church Organ Fund or to Hospice Northeast.
She is survived by a son, Mike Flautt, St. Augustine; four daughters, Lynn Flautt Arnett, Joanne Flautt McClellan, Becky Flautt Youmans and Peggy Flautt, all of St. Augustine; and four grandchildren.

Paul Pierre
Paul Ryan Pierre, 20, St. Augustine, died June 26, 1997, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, N.C., from injuries sustained in an accident.

Christine Williams-Banks
Christine Grace "Tina" Williams-Banks, formerly of St. Augustine, died June 23, 1997, in Cocoa.
Graveside services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Woodlawn Cemetery, with the Rev. Ronald Stafford officiating. Friends may call at Chase Funeral Home today from 5 to 9 p.m.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Banks, Cocoa; her mother, Ethel Williams, St. Augustine; daughters, Vickie Plummer, St. Augustine, Cassandra Banks, Cocoa, Sebrina Jourdan, Orlando, Trayon Johnson, Rockledge; sons, Kevin Williams, Starke, Joseph Banks Jr., Cocoa; sister, Inez Williams, St. Augustine; brothers, William Landrum, St. Augustine, James Allen Sr., St. Augustine; five grandchildren and a number of aunts and other relatives.

Willie Evans

Alanola McLucas Blackaby, 82, St. Augustine, died June 29, 1997, at Mariner Health Care. She was born in Inman, Ga., and she had resided here most of her life. She was a Registered Nurse, and she had worked for over 35 years for Dr. Hardgrove Norris.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Craig Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Ron Moore, pastor of Anastasia Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine Memorial Park. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Craig chapel.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy Wright, Orange Park; a son, Raymond Blackaby, St. Augustine; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Vernon Hartley
Vernon Alexander Hartley, 71, St. Augustine, died June 30, 1997, at Mariner Health Care Center. He was a lifelong resident of St. Augustine, and he was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He had worked for the Florida East Coast Railway for a number of years and with Pinkerton Securities. He was active in the St. Augustine Police Reserve and with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Reserve. He was a member of the American Legion. He was of the Catholic faith.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at San Lorenzo Cemetery. Prayers will be said at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Craig Funeral Home chapel. Friends may call at Craig chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Survivors include one son, Marshall Hartley, Lake Wales; a sister, Dorothy Reyes, a brother, Fred Hartley, both of St. Augustine; and four grandchildren.

Frampie Kearse
Frampie Kearse, 59, St. Petersburg, died June 28, 1997, at Bayfront Medical Center, St. Petersburg, following a brief illness. He was a former St. Augustine resident.
Arrangements will be announced by Coleman's Mortuary.

Frank V. McBride Jr.
Frank V. McBride Jr., 60, Ponte Vedra Beach, died June 28, 1997, at Methodist Hospice, Jacksonville, following a long battle with cancer. He was born in Paterson, N.J., and he had resided in Franklin Lakes, N.J., before moving to Jacksonville in 1968 to open the southern division of the Frank A. McBride Company Mechanical Contractors, Inc., Hawthorne, N.J. He was a 1967 graduate of Notre Dame, and he was an Air Force veteran. He retired from the Frank A. McBride Company in 1992, but remained active on the board of directors. He was also executive director of the Jacksonville Mechanical Contractors Association and an aviation consultant at the time of his death. He was also a professional aerobatic instructor, pilot and air show announcer, and he served two terms on the St. Augustine Airport Authority. He was active in many professional and fraternal organizations, and supported numerous charitable groups and scholarship programs.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Ponte Vedra, with Msgr. T. Leo Danaher officiating. Friends may call at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd., from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials, in his memory, to the Melanoma Vaccine Program, John Wayne Cancer Institute, 2200 Santa Monica Blvd., Santa Monica, Calif. 90404.
Survivors include his wife, Tania, a son Brad McBride; his mother, Margaret McBride; a sister, Gina DeKorte; one brother, Tim McBride; three grandchildren and other relatives.

Christian Milligan
Christian Donald Milligan, 63, 665 Pine St., Calhoun, Ga., died June 20, 1997, at the VA Hospital, Decatur, Ga. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict, and he was reared in St. Augustine, the son and stepson of Emily and Charlie Booth, and he was the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. M.M. Long, St. Augustine. He was also the son of the late Joe Milligan.
Memorial services are planned for 2:30 p.m. July 12 at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Calhoun.
Survivors include his wife, LaNell; stepsons, Clinton Williams, Crawfordville, Kendal Williams, Naples, Rocky Williams, Texas; and other relatives.
Clifford Free Funeral Home, Calhoun, is in charge.

Paul Pierre

William Wingo Jr.
William Thurman Wingo Jr., 70, St. Augustine, died June 28, 1997, at his home. He was born in High Point, N.C., and he had resided in St. Augustine for the past 24 years. He owned and operated Island Tire Company. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy.
Private services are planned.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Ruth Wingo, St. Augustine; four daughters, Ruth Wingo Roebuck, Conyers, Ga., Lara H. Wingo, St. Augustine, Terry Joann Wingo Haire, Crescent City, Linda Wingo Peralta, St. Augustine; three sons, William Thurman Wingo Jr., Walter Lee Wingo, both of St. Augustine, Wayne Harvey Wingo, Jacksonville; 12 grandchildren, Steve and Sheena Wingo, St. Augustine, Michele and Michael Roebuck, Conyers, Jennifer and Melissa Wingo, Saleem Yakoubi, Chris Alkhouri, Virgil E. Wingo, all of St. Augustine, Wayne H. Wingo Jr., Connecticut, Kelvin Haire Jr., Crescent City; Cheyanne Wingo, Jacksonville; one great-grandchild, Taylor M.
