Bela Fuerst, 77, St. Augustine, died July 9, 1997, at Avante, Jacksonville Beach. He was born in Hungary, and he had resided in St. Augustine for the past 16 years. He was an automobile mechanic.
Private services are planned.
Survivors include his wife, Genevieve; a son, Tommy Fuerst, Grand Haven, Mich.; one stepson, Ronnie Robert, Manchester, N.H.; two stepdaughters, Bonnie and Linda Roberts, both of Manchester; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Alison Hoeltje
Alison V. Hoeltje, 70, St. Augustine, died July 14, 1997, at Flagler Hospital East. She was born in White Plains, N.Y., and she had resided in St. Augustine for 14 years. She was a retired artist, and she was a member of the St. Augustine Art Association.
Private services are planned.
Survivors include her husband, Henry Hoeltje; a daughter, Karen MacDonald, New Hall, Calif.; four sons, David, Castaic, Calif., Allan, Berkeley, Calif., John, Whittier, Calif., Paul, St. Marys, Ga.; one brother, John Coon, Lake Park; and 12 grandchildren.

Robert Nimmons III
Robert Nimmons III, 53, 871 W. Ninth St., died July 11, 1997, at his home. He was born in Olar, S.C., and he moved to St. Augustine more than 35 years ago.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Tabernacle Baptist Church. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at Chase Funeral Home chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday; and at the church from 3 p.m. Friday until the hour of services.
Survivors include his wife, Ernestine Nimmons, St. Augustine; son, Robert Nimmons IV; daughters, Patrice Nimmons-Fleming, St. Augustine, Sharon Nimmons-Mitchell, Robin Nimmons-Singleton, both of Jacksonville; a step-daughter, Alisa Streeter, St. Augustine; his mother, Vernell C. Nimmons, St. Augustine; his father, Robert Nimmons Jr., Syracuse, N.Y.; sisters, Betty J. Connors, Bernice Nimmons, St. Augustine, Teresa Poole, Jacksonville, Barbara Cooper, San Antonio, Texas; and brothers, David L. and Ricky Nimmons, both of St. Augustine, Larry Nimmons, Fort Lauderdale, Lorenzo Nimmons, Elkton.

Francis Purtlebaugh
Francis E. Purtlebaugh, 76, St. Augustine, died July 14, 1997, at Flagler Hospital East. He was born in Brown County, Ind., and he served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II as a mechanic. He retired from Monroe County Highway Department as a mechanic and moved to St. Augustine where he worked at Burger King.
Survivors include six sons, Gerald, Ronald, Bradley, St. Augustine, Phillip, Curtis and Daniel, Bloomington, Ind.; two sisters, Opal Fulford, Altha Sipes, Bloomington; a brother, Ivory Purtlebaugh, Green County, Ind.; 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at the National Cemetery, Bushnell. Those wishing may make a contribution, in his memory, to the American Lug Association, 5526 Arlington Road, Jacksonville, 32216.

Floyd Schoenfeldt
Floyd (Fuzzy) R. Schoenfeldt, 76, St. Augustine, died July 12, 1997, at Henry County Medical Center, Paris, Tenn. He was born in Antigo, Wis., and he had resided here for eight years, moving to St. Augustine from Royal Oak, Mich. He was a dental technician, serving with the Halmhuber Dental Lab, Detroit, Mich., for many years. He was also a machinist with Enoc Inc., of Detroit for 20 years beginning in 1965, and he was a greenskeeper at three golf courses - Franklin Hills, Braeburn of Novi and Plymouth Golf Course. He served during World War II in a U.S. Army marching band unit, playing the French horn.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Birmingham, and a youth basketball coach at Westlawn United Methodist Church, Detroit, for many years. He was also a member of Strathmoor Masonic Lodge F&AM.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the William R. Hamilton Co., 820 E. Maple, Birmingham, Mich., with the Rev. Dr. William A. Ritter, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Birmingham, officiating. Burial follows in Roselawn Cemetery, Berkley, Mich.
He was the husband of the late Lois Schoenfeldt.
Survivors include his wife, Luella Schoenfeldt; three sons, Robert P. Schoenfeldt, Troy, Mich., Jerry V. Schoenfeldt, Garden City, Mich., Richard S. Schoenfeldt, Saline, Mich.; two stepdaughters, Mary Jo Chapot, Big Rapids, Mich., Donna Smith, Grand Rapids, Mich.; two brothers, G. Ray Schoenfeldt, St. Augustine, Verl B. Schoenfeldt, Ventura, Calif.; and a number of grandchildren.

Lucile Spell
Funeral services for Lucile ``Nanny'' Browning Spell, 86, who died July 13, 1997, at her home, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church, Nashville, Ga. Burial will follow in Empire Baptist Church Cemetery.
Friends may call at Craig Funeral Home chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

Ronald Wright
Ronald Carroll Wright, 27, Atlanta, Ga., died July 6, 1997, in Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta. He was born in St. Augustine, and he was assistant coach of Armory Gymnastics, and a 1994 graduate of Alabama State. He was listed in Who's Who in American Junior College Students. He was also an instructor of Pizazz Modeling Company. At the time of his death, he was working on his master's degree at Atlanta State University.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Gloria Odom, St. Augustine; father and stepmother, William and Linda Wright, Key West; brothers, Sgt. Steven Wright, Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., Randall K. Wright, Coden, Ala.; his adopted parents, Ervin and Betty Royal, Coden; and other relatives.

Murray Miller
Murray Miller, 78, St. Augustine, died July 16, 1997, at Grafton House. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and he retired from the U.S. Air Force as a technical sergeant. He was a member of the Congregation Sons of Israel.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Congregation Sons of Israel Cemetery, with Rabbi Samuel Cywiak officiating.
Survivors include a daughter, Regina Marcus, Freehold, N.J.; two sons, Marshall Miller, Augusta, Ga., Raymond Miller, Cincinnati, Ohio; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services for Clara Mae Bailey, 53, 1108 W. King St. Extension, who died July 14, 1997, at her home, following an extended illness, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, with the Rev. Alphonso Harvey, pastor, and the Rev. Robert Herring, eulogist, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at Chase and Son Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m. today, and at the church from 1 p.m. Saturday until the hour of services.

Albert Bush Jr.
Albert Lenard Bush Jr., 76, Milligan, Fla., died July 16, 1997. He was born in Milligan, and he had resided in Orangedale for 40 years. He was retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service, having been assigned to the U.S.S. Crater.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Helm Funeral Home chapel, Green Cove Springs, with the Rev. Wayne Bush and the Rev. Don Ramsey officiating. Burial will be in Orangedale Cemetery. Friends may call at Helm Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Mr. Bush was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Lillie Bell Bush and a sister, Jewel Smith.
Survivors include one son, Wayne Bush, Orangedale; two stepdaughters, Shirley Robertson, St. Augustine, Margie Olsson Tacoma, Wash.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Lucy Cullar
Lucy Ann Cullar, 80, 118 Pomar St., died July 16, 1997, at Flagler Hospital West. She was a lifelong resident of St. Johns County, having been born in Moultrie, and she was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, serving as president of the senior and mass choirs. She was also a member of the NAACP, Heroines of Jericho, Lincolnville Improvement Association, assistant secretary of the Choir Guild, and member of Mt. Pisgah No. 3 Golden Circle.
Survivors include four daughters, Virginia Andrews, Henrietta Jackson, Audrey Willis, St. Augustine, Violet Jean Gaddis, Youngstown, Ohio; two sons, Elder Julius S. Cullar II, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, Fred Vail, St. Augustine; three sisters, Donie Carter, St. Augustine, Rosalie Moore, Jacksonville, Nevonia King, Baldwin; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and other relatives.
Arrangements will be announced by Chase and Son Funeral Home.

James Lewis
James Lee Lewis, 61, Zephyrhills, died July 11, 1997, at Zephyr Haven Nursing Home, Zephyrhills. He was born in Riceville, Ga.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Woodlawn Cemetery, with the Rev. John Williams, pastor of Hurst Chapel AME Church, officiating. Friends may call at Chase and Son Funeral Home chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. today.
Survivors include a sister, Lillie Pearl Williams, St. Augustine; three other sisters, five brothers and other relatives.

Wallace Miller
Wallace Miller, 62, Jacksonville, died July 15, 1l997, at Vencor Hospital North Florida, Green Cove Springs. Arrangements will be announced by Chase and Son Funeral Home.

Albert Titlow
Albert F. Titlow, 76, died July 16, 1997, at Flagler Hospital. He was born in Washington, D.C.
Private funeral services are planned.
Survivors include his wife, Rita, St. Augustine; two daughters, Barbara Lee, Atlanta, Ga., Mary Robbins, Gautier, Miss.; and six grandchildren.

Rose Mary Dawley, 69, St. Augustine, died July 17, 1997, at St. Luke's Hospital, Jacksonville. She was born in Oswego, N.Y., and she was a retired mirror artisan. She was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post (VFW) 2391 Auxiliary, St. Augustine, and she was of the Methodist faith.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. today at the VFW Post, U.S. 1 South.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence J. Dawley, St. Augustine; one daughter, Kathy Rose Garbus, Atoka, Tenn.; three sons, Harold B. Dawley, Oswego, David E. Dawley, Jacksonville, Robert L. Dawley, Baldwinsville, N.Y.; a sister, Patricia King, Oswego; three brothers, Albert Fontana, Ephrata, Pa., James and Joseph Fontana, both of Oswego; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Patti Jean Nelson, 39, St. Augustine, died July 15, 1997, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident/pedestrian accident on U.S. 1 South. She was born in Nashua, N.H., and she had resided in St. Augustine for the past nine years.
Memorial services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Memorial Lutheran Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Courtney Nichole Nelson, a son, Gregory Michael Nelson, both of Melbourne; her parents, Dolores Bruneau, Melbourne, Alfred Bruneau, Palm Bay; three sisters, Bonnie Smith, West Melbourne, Michelle Collins, St. Augustine, Linda Harrison, Cocoa; and a brother, Michael Bruneau, Palm Bay.

Memorial services for Ronald Carroll Wright, 27, Atlanta, Ga., who died July 6, 1997, in Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta, will be held at 1 p.m. today at Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Ruth Bandfield
Ruth Bandfield, St. Augustine, died July 18, 1997, at her home. She was born in Detroit, Mich., and had live here since 1952.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at San Lorenzo Cemetery.
She was the wife of the late Robert E. Bandfield and the mother of the late Bobby Bandfield Jr.

Rev. John Beatty
The Rev. John M. Beatty, 80, died July 17, 1997, at Columbia Specialty Hospital in Jacksonville. Born in Washington, D.C., he retired in 1986 to live in Flagler Beach. He was ordained as a Roman Catholic priest in 1950 and served the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego, Calif., until retirement. Since coming to Florida, he served the Diocese of St. Augustine in several parishes, but particularly in the Crescent City, Palatka and Keystone Heights areas.
Prayers will be Monday at 7 p.m. at St. Monica's Catholic Church, 114 S. Fourth St., Palatka. A funeral Mass will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. with area priests presiding. Flowers are gratefully declined. Those wishing may make a contribution in his memory to the American Cancer Society.
He is survived by a sister, Naomi (Mrs. Donald J.) McKee, Flagler Beach.
Watts Funeral Home and Crematory, San Mateo, is in charge of arrangements.
