Albert Leonard Bush Jr., 76, Orangedale, died July 16, 1997. He was born in Pensacola, and he had lived in Orangedale for 40 years. He was retired from the Navy after 20 years' service, with assignment to the U.S.S. Crater.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Mill Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Wayne Bush and the Rev. Don Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow in Orangedale Cemetery. Friends may call at the church Monday at 1 p.m.
He was the husband of the late Vera L. Bush, the son of the late Albert and Lillie Bell Bush and brother of the late Jewel Smith.
He is survived by his son, Wayne Bush, Orangedale, two step-daughters, Shirley Robertson, St. Augustine, Margie Olsson, Tacoma, Wash.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Ina Marie Emmett, 85, St. Augustine, died July 18, 1997, at Ponce de Leon Care Center. She was born in Cairo, Ga., and had lived in St. Augustine most of her life. She was a retired seamstress. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at St. Augustine Memorial Park, with the Rev. David Graham, pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, officiating.
She is survived by a nephew, David Sellers, St. Augustine.

Herbert W. Fox Jr., 80, 4732 Avenue D, died July 15, 1997, following a long illness. He had resided in Florida since 1947, and he had resided in St. Augustine since 1971.
Memorial services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Kingdom Hall, 735 Kings Estate Road, with George Warbeck officiating.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Celestine Fox; children, Margie L. Norris, St. Augustine, David B. Fox, Jacksonville, Daniel A. Fox, St. Augustine; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Two children preceded him in death.

Bella F. Wright, 76, St. Augustine, died July 19, 1997, at Flagler Hospital East. She was born in Bridgeton, N.J., and she was preceded in death by her husband, William P. Wright Sr.

Survivors include two sons, William A. Bartlett, William Wright Jr.; two daughters, Roberta Bofenkamp, Linda Henrie; two sisters, Melva Bucksbaum, Lillian Thacher; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Elsa Wilkes
Elsa Katrina Wilkes, 88, St. Augustine Beach, died July 20, 1997, at Flagler Hospital West. She was born in Aalen, Germany, and she came to the United States as a young woman, living in New York where she reared her family. She moved to St. Augustine six years ago, residing with her daughter.
Private services are planned in New York. Flowers are gratefully declined, and those wishing may make a contribution, in her memory, to the Council on Aging, 11 Old Mission Ave., St. Augustine, 32084.
Survivors include two daughters, Elsie F. Fellis, Marie Julie Haeberlein; grandchildren Kristan M. Haeberlein, Stevan Fellis; and great-grandchildren, Lisa M. and Courtney M. Fellis.

Joseph Anthony Rakowski, 79, St. Augustine, died July 19, 1997, at Flagler Hospital East. He was born in Wilmington, Del., and he came to Florida in 1982. He was retired from the Speakman Company, and he was a member of VFW Post 3257 of Delaware and a member of the Council on Aging for 15 years. He was a member of San Sebastian Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sophie S. Rakowski; one son, Paul Rakowski, St. Augustine; two daughters, Joan Sibert, St. Augustine, Doris Dill, Warwick, Md.; a brother, Anthony; five sisters, Stella Kaminski, Helen Biedrzycki, Anne Szymanski, Hattie Gurney, Mary Duricek; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Frank W. Durgin, 88, St. Augustine, died July 21, 1997, at Flagler Hospital East. He was born in Peabody, Mass., and he had resided here since 1976. He was a retired chemical engineer, and he was a member of the American Chemical Society, Jacksonville Local.

Survivors include one sister, Rhoda Badger, a brother, Paul D. Durgin, both of St. Augustine.

Lucy Ann "Mama Lucy" Cullar, 80, 118 Pomar St., died July 16, 1997, at Flagler Hospital West. She was born in Moultrie, and she was a lifelong resident of St. Johns County. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, serving as president of the senior choir, a member of Lily White Lodge No. 166, a senior matron of Heroines of Jericho, Victoria Court No. 218; and a member of Mt. Pisgah No. 3, Order of the Golden Circle; Lincolnville Improvement Association, assistant secretary for the St. Augustine Choirs Guild and a former secretary of the NAACP.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul AME Church, with the Rev. Sidney Hardy, pastor of Bethel Baptist church, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at Chase and Son Funeral Home chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, and Saturday at the church from noon to the hour of services.
Survivors include four daughters, Virginia (Tommie) Andrews, Henrietta Jackson, Audrey (Henry) Willis, St. Augustine, Violet Jean (Mitchell) Gaddis, Youngstown, Ohio; one son, Elder Jewius S. Cullar, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; three sisters, Donie Carter, St. Augustine, Rosa Lee Moore, Jacksonville, Nevonia King, Baldwin; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and other relatives.
Morris Diamond
Morris Diamond, 76, St. Augustine, died July 23, 1997, at the Ponce de Leon Care Center. He was born in Rochester, N.Y., and he had resided in St. Augustine since 1972. He was a retired administrator for the U.S. Civil Service, and he was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean conflict, having served in the U.S. Army.
Graveside services were to be held at 2 p.m. today at Congregation Sons of Israel Cemetery, with Rabbi Samuel Cywiak officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Diamond; a daughter, Barbara Freund, Springfield, Va.; three sons, Michael Diamond, St. Augustine, Richard M. Diamond, Atlanta, Ga., David C. Diamond, Tequesta; two sisters, Lottie Diamond, Atlanta, Sophie Katzif, Brooklet, Ga.; three brothers, Max Diamond, Atlanta, Louie and Israel Diamond, both of Savannah, Ga.; and five grandchildren.

Michael Glen O'Connor Sr., 61, St. Augustine, died July 23, 1997, at his home. He was born in Nashville, Tenn., and he had resided here since 1990. He was a road driver with Yellow Freight, and he was a member of the Free Wheel Baptist Church, Nashville. He was a member of Moose Lodge No. 1017, and he also held membership in Teamsters Local Union No. 480.
Funeral services and burial will be in Hermitage, Tenn., with the Hermitage Funeral Home in charge.

Avis May O'Neil, 73, St. Augustine, died July 22, 1997, in Flagler Hospital East. She was born in Queens, N.Y., and she had resided here since 1977. She was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church, where she was active in the formation of the adult fellowship and the women's fellowship. She was a founding member of the Ladies of the Ribbon, Military Order of World Wars.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. July 31 at Memorial Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Dr. Kerry Hinkley, pastor, officiating.

Bernard L. French, 84, died July 25, 1997, in Jacksonville. Born in Hersey, Mich., on March 10, 1913, he was a commercial artist and owned French Sign Service in St. Augustine.
He is survived by his wife, Marienne French; son, Jerry French; two daughters, Jeannine Weidman and Sharon Jeffries; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Hardage-Giddens Mandarin Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville. Services will be 3 p.m. Monday in the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Scott Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Mandarin Cemetery, Jacksonville.
