Clarice Cruse
Clarice Smith Lee Cruse, 87, Hastings, died Oct. 10, 1997, at St. Johns Health Care Center, St. Augustine, following a long illness. She was born in Union Springs, Ala., and she had resided in Hastings for the past 49 years, moving there from Fort Pierce. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Hastings, serving as nursery keeper for many years.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Christ United Methodist Church, Hastings, with Dr. Joseph R. Sweeney officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Palatka. Friends may call at the Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home, Palatka, from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
Mrs. Cruse was the daughter of the late Jeff and Naomi Smith, and she was preceded in death by her husband, Energy Cruse; a son, Jack Lee; one granddaughter, Julia Kay Lee and a son-in-law, Paul Johnson.
Survivors include daughters, Ellen Lee Owen, Hastings, Patsy Lee Johnson, Palatka, Frances Nell Moore, Ashford, Ala.; four sons, Meek and Billy Lee, both of St. Augustine, Tommy Lee, Hastings, Joe Lee, Satsuma; two stepsons, Reese Cruse, Jacksonville, Roy Cruse, Salt Springs; a brother, Raymond Smith, Flagler Beach; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

James Hutchinson
James V. Hutchinson, 79, died Oct. 12, 1997, in Flagler Hospital East. He was born in Bronx, N.Y., and he had lived in St. Augustine for the past six years. He formerly lived in West Chester, Pa., and he was employed in the linoleum Industry. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served in World War II as a sergeant.
His wife, the former Ruth Ann Maryott, died Sept. 23, 1997.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at James M. Brower Funeral Home, 908 S. Providence Road, Wallingford, Pa. Burial will be in Chester Rural Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon Thursday.
Survivors include a son, John L. Hutchinson, Washington Township, N.J.; one stepdaughter, Tanna Blevins, West Chester; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Craig Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Robin Robinson
Robin C. Robinson, 38, died Oct. 10, 1997, in Allentown, Pa. He was a member of the Class of 1977 at Hastings High School, and he attended Florida Community College, Jacksonville, and Edward Waters College, also of Jacksonville.
He was the brother of the late Wanda Robinson.
Survivors include his mother, Lillie Mae Robinson, Hastings; seven sisters, Brenda Felder, Martha Lane, Althea Robinson, all of Hastings, Queenie Simmons, Pomona Park, Marie Taylor, Callahan, Cheryl Franklin, Colorado Springs, Colo., Kathy Jones, Jacksonville; and three brothers, Raymond Jones, Dover, Del., Wesley Robinson Jr., Hastings, Kevin Robinson, St. Augustine.
Arrangements will be announced by Coleman's Mortuary.

Gertie Hernandez
Gertie Mae Hernandez, 93, St. Augustine, died Oct. 16, 1997, at Flagler Hospital East. Arrangements will be announced by Craig Funeral Home.

Renae Oxendine
Renae Lockett Oxendine, 29, 1056 W. King St., died Oct. 15, 1997, at Flagler Hospital East. Arrangements will be announced by Chase and Son Funeral Home.

Robin Robinson
Funeral services for Robin C. Robinson, 38, who died Oct. 10, 1997, in Allentown, Pa., will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gethsemane Baptist Church, Hastings, with the Rev. Robert Sharp, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Hastings, officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at Coleman's Mortuary from 5 to 9 p.m. today.
Mr. Robinson was a member of the Class of 1977 at Hastings High School, and he attended Florida Community College, Jacksonville, and Edward Waters College, also of Jacksonville.

Donald Stone
Donald Hollis Stone, 62, 5010 Silo Road, died Oct. 15, 1997, at his home. He was born in New Rochelle, N.Y., and he came to St. Augustine 18 years ago from Westlake, Ohio. He was a professional land surveyor, and he was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Bay Village, Ohio, the National Land Surveyors' Association and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Croyle Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn; five daughters, Jeannette Mazza, Elkton, Jeanene LeCompte, Hastings, Laurie Radcliffe, Tracey McConnell, both of Jacksonville, Kelly Stone, St. Augustine; a sister, Barbara Badacher, Lavonia, Mich.; and six grandchildren.

Gertie Hernandez
Gertie Mae Hernandez, 93, St. Augustine, died Oct. 16, 1997, at Flagler Hospital East. She was a lifelong resident of St. Augustine, and she was a member of Cathedral Parish.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Craig Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Jeremiah Lambe, associate pastor of the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Augustine, officiating. Burial will be in San Lorenzo Cemetery.
Survivors include her son, Bertram Hernandez Jr., five grandchildren, Patricia Lopez, Cecelia Huffman, Doug, Norman and Richard Hernandez; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services for Sophie Samoluk Rakowski, 77, St. Augustine, who died Oct. 7, 1997, at her home, will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at San Sebastian Catholic Church, with the Rev. Peter Colasurdo, pastor, officiating. Those wishing may make a donation, in her memory, to Hospice NOrtheast, 1400 Old Dixie Hwy., Suite A, St. Augustine, 32086.

John Braddy
John W. Braddy, 74, 212 Somerset Court, died Oct. 16, 1997, at Flagler Hospital. Born in Tampa, he had lived in Macon, Ga., for 44 years, moving to St. Augustine three months ago. He was a retired accountant, he was a veteran of World War II, and he was a member of the Ingleside Baptist Church, Macon.
Graveside services were held Oct. 18 at 11:30 a.m. at Harden's Chapel Cemetery, Inc., with the Rev. Fred Swan officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Lawannah S. Braddy, St. Augustine; two sons, John Randolph Braddy, Boca Raton, James Christopher Braddy, Mann's Choice, Pa.; a sister, Christine Brookins, Milledgeville, Ga.; and six grandchildren.
Ronnie L. Stewart and Son Funeral Service, Vidalia, Ga., was in charge of arrangements.

Doretha Greene
Doretha Willis Greene, 61, 147 Stewart St., died Oct. 20, 1997, at her home. Arrangements will be announced by Chase and Son Funeral Home.

Martin Greensfelder
Martin Greensfelder, 82, 253 Hermosa Court, died Oct. 19, 1997, at Flagler Hospital East. He was born in Baltimore, Md., and he came to St. Augustine 21 years ago from Baltimore. He was retired from the American Can Company after 42 years of service in Baltimore. He was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church, where he was former head usher and lay reader, and he was a member of the Flagler Hospital Auxiliary.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Dr. Kerry G. Hinkley, pastor, officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined, and those wishing may make a contribution, in his memory, to the Memorial Lutheran Church building fund.
Survivors include his wife, Ethlyn; a daughter, Judy Ruffell, Jacksonville Beach; two sons, Ronald E. Greensfelder, Baltimore, William J. Fisher, Philadelphia, Pa.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Alton Matthews
Alton L. Matthews, 65, St. Augustine, died Oct. 20, 1997, at his home. He was born in Coward, S.C., and he had resided here for the past six years. He was a retired area manager for air traffic control for the Federal Aviation Administration, and he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in Korea. He was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, and he was a member of the University of South Carolina Alumni Association, the Southern Region FFA Retirees Association, Retired Air Traffic Controllers Association, and he was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Grace United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Curtis Norton, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Lucy Norton. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Stockbridge, Ga.
Friends may call at Craig Funeral Home chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Matthews, St. Augustine; one daughter, Angela Sloan, Athens, Tenn.; a son, Scott Matthews, Stockbridge; two brothers, Arnold Matthews, Marion, S.C., Rudolph Matthews, Coward; and four grandchildren.

Renae Oxendine
Renae Lockett Oxendine, 29, 1056 W. King St., died Oct. 15, 1997, at Flagler Hospital East. She was a lifelong resident of St. Augustine, and she was a member of the Church of God by Faith and also served on the choir, as church secretary, was a Sunday school teacher and served in various other capacities for her church.
She was a member of the Class of 1985 at St. Augustine High School, and she was employed by S&K Men's Wear.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Tabernacle Baptist Church, with the Rev. Major Highman, pastor, officiating, and Elder Lawson Foster as eulogist. Burial will be in St. Augustine Memorial Park. Friends may call at Chase and Son Funeral Home chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. today, and at the church from noon Wednesday until the hour of services.
Survivors include her husband, Victor Oxendine, St. Augustine; her father, Henry L. Lockett Sr., mother, Rosetta Russ Lockett, St. Augustine; a brother, Henry L. Lockett Jr., St. Augustine; paternal grandparents, Elder and Mrs. Willie (Marietta) Saul, St. Augustine; maternal grandmother, Amanda Proctor, St. Augustine; and numerous other relatives.

Antonio Smith
Antonio M. Smith, 100, Green Cove Springs, died at the Oak Terrace Care Center, Green Cove Springs. Arrangements will be announced by Chase and Son Funeral Home.

Donald Woodson
Donald R. Woodson, 71, 21 Patchogue Lane, Palm Coast, died Oct. 20, 1997, at Memorial Hospital, Bunnell. Arrangements will be announced by Chase and Son Funeral Home.

Eddie Brown
Eddie Brown, 82, Daytona Beach, died Oct. 20, 1997, at his home. He moved to Daytona Beach seven years ago from St. Augustine. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, Daytona Beach, and of Tabernacle Baptist Church, St. Augustine, and he was a member of American Legion Post No. 194. He was a retired dry cleaner presser. He attended public schools in Live Oak.
Survivors include a sister, Rosalee Lane, Daytona Beach.

Martin Greensfelder
Funeral services for Martin Greensfelder, 82, 253 Hermosa Court, who died Oct. 19, 1997, at Flagler Hospital East, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Killian Peterson
Killian Joyce Peterson, infant daughter of Colette and David Peterson, died Oct. 20, 1997.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of the Arlington Park Funeral Home, Jacksonville, with the Rev. Robert Baker officiating. Burial will be in San Lorenzo Cemetery, St. Augustine, at 1 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Tim Lindenfelser officiating.
Survivors, in addition to her parents, include two brothers, Landin and Quentin; her grandparents, Eric and Joyce Peterson, Jupiter; James and Jacqueline Lutz, Jacksonville and St. Augustine, and other relatives.

Leonard Price
Leonard Price, 87, New York City, died Oct. 20, 1997, in New York.
He is survived by his son, Robert Price, St. Augustine, one grandson, two step-granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Price.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at Riverside Memorial Chapel, New York City, with burial at Maimonides Cemetery, Brooklyn, New York.
