Cecelia Mallory
Cecelia Martha (Dugger) Mallory, 92, died Oct. 21, 1997, at her home in St. Augustine. She was born in Bloomington, Ill., and she had resided in St. Augustine since 1967. She was retired from civil service in Chicago as a payroll clerk, and she was active in the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, (NARFE) St. Augustine Chapter, serving as secretary and treasurer.
She was the wife of the late Charles Mallory.
Survivors include a son, Robert Mallory, Satsuma; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Watts Funeral Home and Cremator is in charge of arrangements.

Eva Pace
Eva Merkerson Pace, 85, St. Augustine, died Oct. 17, 1997, at the St. Augustine Health and Rehabilitation, where she had been making her home. She was born in St. Augustine, and she was educated in Hastings, graduating from high school in 1932. She received her R.N. degree from Brewster School of Nursing, Jacksonville, in 1937, and she worked at the former Kendall Hospital in the Miami area for many years and later transferred to Miami's Jackson Memorial. She retired from there in 1969.
She was a member of St. Johns Institutional Missionary Baptist Church, serving on the Nurses Guild, as a founding member of the reorganized board of trustees, and also serving with the Willing Workers, Flower Club, Deaconess Board, Adult Club, Sunday school, B.T.U. and on the prayer band.
When her health began to fail, she relocated to St. Augustine.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gethsemane Baptist Church, Hastings, with the Rev. Henry Nevin of Miami officiating. Burial will follow in Palatka.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the D.A. Boyd Funeral Home, Palatka.
Survivors include one son, Kelly Pace, Miami; two sisters, Cora Harrison, Julia Mae Boynton, both of Hastings; two brothers, John D. Merkerson, Corona, N.Y., Sylvester Merkerson, Astoria, N.Y.; two granddaughters and numerous other relatives.

Melanie Thigpen
Melanie Martha Thigpen, 85, St. Augustine, died Oct. 20, 1997, in Flagler Hospital West. She was born in Bayard, and she was a lifelong resident of this area. She was a member of the Family Worship Center, and she was a charter member of the City of Faith. She was a nurses' assistant for 27 years.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel of the Craig Funeral Home, with the Rev. Phillip Cochran Jr., pastor of Family Worship Center, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at Craig chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
Survivors include one daughter, Clydie Simms, St. Augustine; three sisters, Betty Acosta, Judy Evans, Mildred Gill; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jerrie Maguire
Geraldine "Jerrie" Rowe Campbell Maguire, 73, St. Augustine, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 21, 1997, at her home. Mrs. Maguire was a heritage native of St. Augustine and was a descendant of the original families to emigrate to St. Augustine from the Island of Menorca. She traced her ancestry through the Pellicer, Canova, Andreu and Ponz (Ponce) families.
Mrs. Maguire had been a society writer for The St. Augustine Record, while her husband, Stuart Rivers Campbell, served in the Pacific Theater. She was preceded in death by him, and their infant son, Richard Wesley Campbell. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Elmanuel Aguiar Rowe.
Mrs. Maguire was active in the Menorcan Cultural Society and was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. In recent years, she also volunteered for Lightner Museum and assisted at the St. Francis House Soup Kitchen. Together with her husband, Elliott L. Maguire, she restored the Don Pedro Horruytiner Home on St. George Street.
Mrs. Maguire felt her mission in life was the creation of a strong, loving family. She accomplished this through her years of devotion to her children, grandchildren and great-grandson, and her niece and nephew. She served as an example of honesty, integrity and devotion to her family. Her strength, intelligence and beauty will continue to guide the family members who survive her.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Cathedral-Basilica with interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel of Craig Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. today, and prayers will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Craig chapel.
Survivors include her husband, Elliott Leo Maguire; four daughters, Donna Campbell Swan, Theresa Campbell Grady, Sharon Campbell Browning, Kathleen Campbell McKenna; three stepsons, Michael, Bruce and Craig Maguire, all of St. Augustine; 18 grandchildren, one great-grandson; a niece, Ann Masters, St. Augustine; one nephew, James Browning, Ponte Vedra Beach; as well as her cousins, Marjorie and LaRue Van Meter.
Craig Funeral Home is in charge.

J. Beauchamp-Nobbs
John Frederick Beauchamp-Nobbs, 59, St. Augustine, died Oct. 23, 1997, at his home. He was born in Jacksonville, and resided here for the past 17 years. He was a retired clerk for the Internal Revenue Service, and he was a member of the Episcopal church.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Craig Funeral Home chapel.
Flowers are gratefully declined, and those wishing may make a contribution, in his memory, to Hospice, 1400 Old Dixie Hwy., Suite A, St. Augustine, 32086.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce, St. Augustine; one sister and one brother.

Eddie Brown
Eddie Brown, 82, Daytona Beach, died Oct. 20, 1997. He was born in St. Augustine, and moved to the Daytona Beach area seven years ago.
He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and a Sunday School teacher. He also held membership in American Legion Post No. 194. He served in the U.S. Army, and he was retired after 40 years working as a presser for a dry cleaner.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, St. Augustine, with Rev. Major Highman, pastor, and the Rev. Charles Jelks, pastor of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Port Orange, officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine Memorial Park.
Survivors include a sister, Rosa Lee Lane, and many other relatives.
Herbert Thompson Funeral Home is in charge.

Joseph Davis
Joseph Davis died Oct. 3, 1997, at his home in Bronx, N.Y. He was educated in St. Johns County public schools, and he later moved to New York where he worked as a hospital food nutritionist.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Gethsemane Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jeremiah Steward officiating. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Federal Point Road.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph Davis Jr., Bronx, N.Y., Eric Potts, Brooklyn, N.Y.; two brothers, Harold Davis, Hastings, Carl Davis, Miami; and a sister, Flossie Marshall, Miami.
Coleman's Mortuary is in charge.

Doretha Greene
Doretha Willis Greene, 61, 147 Stewart St., died Oct. 20, 1997, at her home. She was born in Cocoa, and resided in St. Augustine for the past 40 years. She was a member of Faith Temple Holiness Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Antioch Baptist Church, with the Rev. W.R. Jackson, pastor, and Elder Early Brown, pastor of Faith Temple, eulogist, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at Chase and Son Funeral Home chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. today.
Survivors include her husband, Lee Greene Sr., St. Augustine; a daughter, Joann Addison, Gainesville; sons, Lee Jr., Eric, Garry and Ronald, all of St. Augustine; brothers, Irvin Willis Jr., Henry Willis; sisters, Barbara Smith, St. Augustine, Joanne Garber, Indianapolis, Ind.; 15 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and other relatives.

Helen Holder
Helen "Gerry" Holder, 79, St. Augustine, died Oct. 22, 1997, at the Earl B. Hadlow Center, Jacksonville. Arrangements will be announced by Craig Funeral Home.
Flowers are gratefully declined, and those wishing may make a contribution, in her memory, to Hospice, 1400 Old Dixie Hwy., Suite A, St. Augustine, 32086.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the D.A. Boyd Funeral Home, Palatka, and at the church from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the hour of services.
The cortege will leave from the home of Mrs. Pace's sister, Cora Harrison.

Elizabeth Printz
Elizabeth Marie Printz, 81, St. Augustine, died Oct. 23, 1997, at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Jacksonville. She was born in Camden, N.J. She was a member of the Catholic church.
Private services and burial will be at a later date in Falls Church, Va.
Survivors include her husband, William B. Printz, St. Augustine; two daughters, Geraldine Powell, Tucson, Ariz., Carol Ann Homan, Fairfax Station, Va.; and two granddaughters.
Craig Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

A.M. Smith
Funeral services for Deacon A.M. Smith, 100, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Green Cove Springs, with the Rev. R.L. Wright, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Abilene Cemetery, Putnam Hall. Friends may call at the church from 5 to 7 p.m. today, and from 10 a.m. Saturday until the hour of services.

Donald WoodsonFuneral services for Donald R. Woodson, 73, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First AME Church, Palm Coast, with the Rev. Gillard S. Glover, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Volusia Memorial Park, Ormond Beach. Friends may call at the church from 5 to 7 p.m. today, and from 10 a.m. Saturday until the hour of services.

Robin Haug
Robin L. Haug, 45, Atlanta, Ga., died Tuesday evening at St. Joseph's Hospital, after a two-year battle with cancer.
A memorial service was to be held at Peachtree Presbyterian Church, Atlanta, at 1 p.m. today.
Robin is survived by her husband, Howard James Haug, a daughter, Amanda, son, Andrew, Atlanta; her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Henry Lequear, Orlando; two sisters, Joy Still, St. Augustine, Jill Robb, Orlando; three brothers, Craig Lequear, Micco, Jonathan Lequear, Palm Bay, Scott Lequear, Orlando; and her in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Howard F. Haug, St. Augustine.
Robin was an active volunteer with various activities in support of her children's schools, Ridgeview Middle School and Highpoint Elementary. Robin was a graduate of Boone High School, Orlando, and Auburn University. She was a CPA, and, for a number of years, was VP CFO of Anatar Investments. At Auburn, Robin was a member of Phi Mu Sorority and was a Pi Kappa Alpha Little Sister.
The family requests donations be made, in lieu of flowers, in memory of Robin Haug to the American Cancer Society, restricted to Colon Cancer research. Contributions can be made by phone to 1-800-227-2345.
Robin will be missed not only by her husband, children and family, but also by the many people whose lives she touched and enriched.

Joseph Davis
Funeral services for Joseph Davis, who died Oct. 3, 1997, at his home in Bronx, N.Y., will be held at 2 p.m. today at Gethsemane Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jeremiah Steward officiating. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Federal Point Road.

Helen Holder
Crypt-side services for Helen "Gerry" Holder, 79, St. Augustine, who died Oct. 22, 1997, at the Earl B. Dorothy Hayes
Dorothy Lillian Hayes, 66, St. Augustine, died Oct. 26, 1997, at Flagler Hospital East. She was born in New York City, and she had resided here since 1983. She was of the Catholic faith.
Friends may call at Craig Funeral Home chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
Survivors include one daughter, Debbie Simard; two sons, Jerry Hayes, Joseph E. Hayes, all of St. Augustine; three sisters, Lorraine Hayes, Lillian Wilson, both of Long Island, N.Y., Marian Labonosky, Colchester, Conn.; one brother, Robert Clark, Long Island; and two grandsons.

Benjamin Kopetski
Benjamin John Kopetski, born Dec. 18, 1922, in Biddeford, Maine, died Oct. 25, 1997, at the Ponce de Leon Care Center, after a lengthy illness. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on Jan. 21, 1942, and retired May 1976 from VP 62.
Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, 1997, at the NAS Jacksonville Catholic Chapel. Interment will be in Jacksonville Memory Gardens in Orange Park, with full military honors bestowed by the U.S. Navy. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel of Craig Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jeanette Kopetski, Elkton; a daughter, Bunny Rogers, and her husband, David, Atlanta; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his won, Michael B. Kopetski.

Henrietta Bush
Henrietta Q. Bush, 82, Murrells Inlet, S.C., died Oct. 28, 1997, at Conway Hospital, Conway, S.C., following a long illness. She was born in Hannibal, Mo., and she had resided in South Carolina since 1992, moving there from Putnam County, where she had resided since 1947. She was also a former Registered Nurse. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Hastings, and she had also been a member of both the garden club and the bridge club in Hastings.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Christ United Methodist Church, with Dr. Joseph Sweeny officiating. Burial will be in West View Cemetery, Palatka. Friends may call at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home, Palatka, from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Flowers are gratefully accepted, or those wishing may make a contribution, in her memory, to the Florida United Methodist Children's Home, P.O. Box 4008, Enterprise, 32725; or to the American Lung Association, 5526 Arlington Road, Jacksonville 32211.
Mrs. Bush was preceded in death by her husband, Jack R. Bush Sr.
Survivors include two sons, Jack Bush, Murrells Inlet, Dick Bush, Grandin; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Lillian Deegan
Lillian Deegan, 86, St. Augustine, died Oct. 28, 1997, at Mariner Health Care Center. She was born in Jersey City, N.J., and she had resided in St. Augustine for six years. She was a member of the Congregation Sons of Israel and Temple Bet Yam.
Graveside services were to be held at 2 p.m. today at Congregation Sons of Israel Cemetery, with Rabbi Samuel Cywiak officiating.
Survivors include one son, Kalmun R. Lee, St. Augustine; three brothers, Freddie Wellen, California, Abe Wellen, Morris Wellen, Jersey City; one grandson and one great-grandson.
Craig Funeral Home is in charge.
