Hildred Bockler
Hildred L. Canfield Bockler, 89, died at Vicar's Landing Health Center, Tuesday, Nov. 4, 1997. She was the former Hildred Marshall, born in St. Augustine.
She was a life member of Grace United Methodist Church, where she was baptized as a child and married to T.S. Canfield as a young woman. She belonged to the Morning Circle at Grace Church and was a piano accompanist for the Sunday School class for many years. She was a member of the Maria Jefferson Chapter, DAR, a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Azalea Garden Club.
Mrs. Bockler resided in Gainesville prior to returning to St. Augustine. She was a postal employee at both the main office and the University of Florida substation for 25 years.
Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 7, 1997, at noon at Grace United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Curtis Norton officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at Croyle Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
There will be a reception in celebration of her life at the church after the service.
Flowers are gratefully declined, and those wishing may make a contribution, in her memory, to Grace United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Bockler.
Survivors include four children, Margaret C. Richardson Lund, Patricia C. Reich, Thomas S. Canfield, Jennie C. Gilmore, and one sister, Helen Brown, all of St. Augustine. She also is survived by 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, one great-grandson preceded her in death; two great-great-grandchildren, three stepchildren, Carol Faulk, Nancy Alexander and James Bockler; and several nieces and nephews.

Richard Davenport
Richard W. Davenport, 37, died suddenly Nov. 3, 1997, at Flagler Hospital West. He was educated in the Duval School System, and he lived in St. Augustine most of his life, moving to Hastings a year and a half ago.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Coleman's Mortuary Chapel, Hastings, with Bishop Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery, Hastings. Friends may call at Coleman's chapel from 5:30-7 p.m. today.
Survivors include his fiancee, Tammey Watts, Hastings; three daughters, Sandra Davenport, Melissa Watts, Cheryl Davenport, all of Hastings; his mother, Shirley Walker, father, William Walker Jr., both of Crevens, Ga.; sisters, Debbie Barber, Crevens, Donna Ramseyer, Jacksonville, Sherrill Carroll, Brunswick, Ga., Donna Schulist, Custer, Wis., Trisha Walker, Jacksonville; brothers, Robert Davenport, Joe Ramseyer, both of Jacksonville, Bill Lutz, Branson, Mo., Van Walker, Tallahassee, Eric Walker, Cross, Richard Walker, Jacksonville; 17 nieces and nephews.
Coleman's Mortuary is in charge.

Bernard Beach Jr.
Bernard M. Beach Jr., 79, Holly Hill, a retired general building contractor, died Oct. 28, 1997, at Hospice Care Center in Port Orange. He was born in Lima, Ohio, and he moved to Holly Hill in 1925. He was a graduate of Mainland High School and the University of Florida, and in 1932 he joined the Daytona Beach Municipal Band and was a member until it disbanded seven years ago. He served as choir director of Westminster by the Sea Presbyterian Church for 23 years and was a former member there. He was a member of the Southminster Presbyterian Church, the Central Florida Musicians Association Local 389, the International Federation of Musicians of the U.S. and Canada and the Elks and Moose lodges, both of Daytona Beach.
Survivors include his wife, Irva; a son, Randy, Bunnell; two daughters, Marcie Cobb, Belcher, La., Melody Finch, Montgomery, Ala.; three stepdaughters, Irva J. Hecker, Connie Cannon, Sheila Hitchcock, all of St. Augustine; a brother, Eldon, Daytona Beach; five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
Woodward, Holly Hill, was in charge.

Cecil Carter
Cecil C. Carter, 83, 41 Hibiscus Ave., died Nov. 5, 1997, at Flagler Hospital. He was born in Leblanc, La., and he came to St. Augustine in 1928. He was a retired manager for Pan American at Patrick Air Force Base, and he was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. He was also a member of the Pan American Retirees Club, a charter and life member of the Missile Space and Range Pioneers, Inc., the Audubon Society, the Sierra Club, the Nature's Conservancy Club, Save the Trees Club, American Institute of Astronautics and Aeronautics and the American Society of Military Engineers.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Those wishing may make a contribution, in his memory, to a favorite charity.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; three sons, Charles, Satellite Beach, Gary, Greenwich, Md., Mark, Casselberry; two sisters, Betty Jean DeKay, St. Augustine, Geraldine Efert, Longmont, Col.; two brothers, Gerald and Harold, both of St. Augustine; and three grandchildren.
Croyle Funeral Home is in charge.

Saul Freedman
Saul H. Freedman, 76, died Nov. 4, 1997, at St. Luke's Hospital, Jacksonville. He was a native of Hartford, Conn., and he had resided at the Villages of Vilano for the past two years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps, and he was a retired tech rep to the Navy at Kaman Aerospace Corporation. He was a member of Temple Bet Yam.
Memorial services were held at Temple Bet Yam Wednesday afternoon.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Freedman, St. Augustine; four daughters, Nisa C. Poulos, Tolland, Conn., Lynda S. Feldman, Brooklyn, N.Y., Laurie A. Hill, Seffner, Dorey B. Freedman, Boston, Mass.; a sister, Dorothy Tanenbaum, Tolland; and one grandson.

William Jones Sr.
Funeral services for William Henry Jones Sr., 67, St. Augustine, who died Nov. 3, 1997, at Memorial Medical Center, Jacksonville, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Augustine. Dr. Gino Andreani
Dr. Gino L. Andreani, 77, St. Augustine, died Nov. 6, 1997, at his home. He was born in Florence, Italy, and he had resided in St. Augustine since 1981. He was a professor with the University of Richmond from 1956 until 1981, when he retired. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, with the Rev. William C. Mooney, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in San Lorenzo Cemetery. Friends may call at Craig Funeral Home chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today, and prayers will be recited at 5 p.m., today.

John Cleary Jr.
John E. Cleary Jr., 74, 6070 Datil Pepper Road, died Nov. 5, 1997, at his home. He was born in Butler, N.J., and he came to St. Augustine 25 years ago from Pompton Plains, N.J. He was a retired carpenter and builder, and he was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Cathedral Parish.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church, with the Rev. Rene Robert officiating.
Flowers are gratefully declined, and those wishing may make a contribution, in his memory, to Hospice Northeast, 1400 Old Dixie Hwy., Suite A, St. Augustine, 32086.

Anna Head
Anna Coomes Head, Atlanta, Ga., died Nov. 5, 1997. She was born in St. Augustine, and she attended Nazareth College and Florida College for Women. She was a member of ROIP and a founding member of the St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, Atlanta, and she was a cartoonist with Max Fleischman Studio.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, Atlanta. Burial will be in Arlington Memorial Park.
Those wishing may make a contribution, in her memory, to a favorite charity.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Roy C. Head Jr.; her children, Martin Head, Atlanta, Suzanne Head McAuliffe, Syracuse, N.Y., Jenny Head Brahm, Atlanta, Mary Ann McNeil, Atlanta, Roy Xavier Head, DeLand; a brother, the Rev. Eugene Coomes, St. Louis, Mo.; and eight grandchildren.

Hosea Jackson
Graveside services for Hosea Ezekiel Jackson, infant son of Sennett Jackson, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Woodlawn Cemetery, with the Rev. Nathaniel Jackson, pastor of New St. James Baptist Church, officiating. Friends may call at Chase and Son Funeral Home chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The infant died Oct. 30, 1997, at the University Medical Center, Jacksonville.

Mercer Henry Sr.
Mercer Jackson Henry Sr., 89, St. Augustine, died Nov. 8, 1997, at Flagler Hospital West. He was born in Winder, Ga., and had lived in St. Augustine since 1983. He was a retired station manager for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and of Marsh Creek Country Club.
Memorial services will be Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, Orlando.
He is survived by his wife, Lora Henry, St. Augustine; three daughters, Coleen Gutierrez, Santa Martin, Colombia, Heather Jo Thyne, Pennsylvania; Cheryl J. Henry, St. Augustine; a son, Mercer Jackson Henry Jr., San Juan, Puerto Rico; a sister, Mary O'Neall, Orlando; and five grandchildren.

Stanley Sacra
Stanley William Sacra, 64, St. Augustine, died Nov. 6, 1997, at Flagler Hospital West. He was born in Sanford, and had lived in St. Augustine for the past 54 years. He was a retired heavy equipment operator. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Craig Funeral Home chapel. Friends may call at Craig chapel Monday, 5-8 p.m.
He is survived by a daughter, Susan June Stubblefield, Jacksonville; a son, Daniel Lee Williamson, Oxen Hill, Md.; three stepdaughters, Debby Langston, Diane Bell and Bonnie Corbin, all of St. Augustine; five stepsons, George, Alan, Gene, Timmy and Vic Bradley, all of St. Augustine; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
