A resident of St. Louis, Mo., he relocated to Jacksonville in 1988. He was the owner of Sarah's Sandwich Shop in St. Augustine from 1988 to 1995.
Survivors include his wife, Diana M. Newton; two daughters, Sarah Newton, Rachel Newton; his mother and stepfather, Sarah and Bill Kilander; his grandparents, Elon and Gordy Newton; one brother, Harold Newton; two sisters, Donna Miller and Beverly Pope

Ralph Workman Jr.
Ralph B. Workman Jr., 73, St. Augustine, died Jan. 1, 1998, at his residence. He was born in Omaha, Neb., and he came to St. Augustine 40 years ago from Ft. Collins, Colo.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, having served in World War II, and a graduate of Colorado State University with a bachelor's degree. He received his doctorate degree from Oregon State University and was an entomologist working for the University of Florida Extension Services in Hastings. He retired in 1985 after 26 years of service.
Survivors include his wife Helen; one daughter, Annette Pellicer, St. Augustine; three sons, Milton Workman, Ocala, Paul Workman, Jacksonville, George Workman, Port Arthur, Texas; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services for Anthony S. Calloway, 41, former resident of St. Augustine, who died Dec. 23, 1997, in Silver Springs, Md. will be held today at 1 p.m. at the New St. James Baptist Church, with the Rev. Albert Hess
Albert "Al" C. Hess, 95, St. Augustine, died Jan. 2, 1998 at Flagler Hospital West. He was born in Altoona, Pa., and had resided in St. Augustine since 1920.
He was retired from the Florida East Coast Railway where he served as the corporate secretary/treasurer. He was a member of Ancient City Baptist Church, Ashlar Lodge 98, York Rite Bodies, and the Morocco Temple.
Survivors include Eileen Wilson, Keystone Heights, Fla., Arliss Cammon, Jacksonville, Fla., and Verona Walton, Athens, Ala.; and one nephew, Franklin, North Carolina.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ancient City Baptist Church, with the Rev. Frank Northcutt, pastor, officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Members of Ashlar Lodge 98 will meet at the lodge at 1 p.m. for the purpose of attending the funeral. Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Craig Funeral Home.

Ruth Frances Noble, 69, St. Augustine, died Jan. 1, 1998, at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of St. Augustine. She was a member of Heritage Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Rhonda Christmas and Leslie Johnson; one son, Jimmy Noble; and one sister, Catherine McSwain, all of St. Augustine; one brother, Willie "Bill" Jowers, Mims, Fla.; and six grandchildren.

Richard Joseph Quinn, 84, St. Augustine, died Jan. 2, 1998 at Mariner Health Care. He was born in Omaha, Neb. and had resided in St. Augustine for 20 years. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
He is survived by his sister, Doris Quinn, St. Augustine.
Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at San Lorenzo Cemetery, with the Rev. Leslie Knight, Corpus Christi Catholic Church, officiating.

He was a retired civilian engineer for the U.S. Navy. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a former member of Ancient City Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Norma Jean Fermite, Fairfield, Ga., and Molly Blenky, Sierra Madre, Calif.; three sisters, Lillian Backer, Covington, La., Norma Keith, Arlington, Va., and Carolyn Jean Copeland Metairie, La.; and two grandchildren.

Lillie Mae Mask, 79, 86 DeHaven St., died Jan. 3, 1998, at her home. She was born in Early Branch, S.C., and she had resided here for over 50 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Rose E. Simmons, Charlotte M. Sims, Judy M. Thomas; two sons, Henry Lee Black and Charles T. Mask II; 30 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and other relatives.

Richard McLarnan
Richard Stanford McLarnan, 83, St. Augustine, died Jan. 4, 1998, at his home. He was born in Fort Lauderdale, and he had resided here most of his life. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy, and he was an X-ray and lab technician, working for the Federal Government in the hospital in the Panama Canal Zone and at the former Florida East Coast Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, Lester Personeus Jr., St. Augustine; one daughter, Leslie Personeus, Jacksonville; two sons, Terrance Personeus, St. Augustine, Lester Personeus III, Citra; a sister, Mildred Rossa, Bloomingburg, N.Y.; and four grandchildren.

Penney, Blairsville, Ga.; a son, McElree "Cutter" Tuttle Jr., St. Augustine; four sisters, Annie Bell Jernigan, Sarah Goff, both of Columbia, Jessie McDowell, St. Augustine, Mary Ella Bresette, New Smyrna Beach; two brothers, John Chappell, Leesville, S.C., Lewis Chappell, Hopkins, S.C.; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

James E. "Frank" Young, 70, St. Augustine, died Jan. 4, 1998, in Flagler Hospital West. He was born in Palatka, and he was a retired CWO from the Florida National Guard. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

Pauline Banks
Pauline Marzie Banks, 69, St. Augustine, died Dec. 31, 1997, at her sister's home in Middleburg.
She was a native and lifelong resident of St. Augustine. She had worked for a number of years at Marineland. She was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Banks was the wife of the late Fred Banks, and the mother of the late Wayne Rake and Howard Banks.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Sue Bush and Fredna Swofford, both of St. Augustine; five sons, Frankie Joseph Farnum, Edward Felton Rake, Tommy Ray Rake, David Willis Downing, all of St. Augustine, Gator Banks, Palatka; one sister, Mary Davies, Middleburg; three brothers, J.W. Willis and Ronald Willis, both of Jacksonville, and Donald Willis, St. Augustine; 21 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
