William Joseph Wetteroth, 84, St. Augustine, died Jan. 24, 1998, at the Ponce de Leon Care Center. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and he earned an M.A. in psychology and a D.N.D. in education. He was a graduate of the New York Police Academy, and he had served as an instructor at the academy. He also served on the directorial staff of the Police College at England and Wales, and was an associate professor of political science at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York. He retired as a captain of the New York City Police Department and received the Award for Meritorious Police Service. He was a member of the Academy of Police Science, the American Society of Criminology, Kappa Delta Pi, and Alpha Kappa Delta. He had resided in St. Augustine since 1983, and he attended the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Augustine.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Craig Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Jeremiah Lambe, associate pastor at the Cathedral-Basilica, officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret "Brenda" Wetteroth, St. Augustine; one daughter, Mary Hoppe, San Francisco; two sons, William J. Wetteroth Jr., Wappingers Falls, N.Y., James Wetteroth, New York City; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mary D. Bartlam
Mary D. Bartlam, 46, St. Augustine, died Jan. 27, 1998, at her home. She was a native and lifelong resident of St. Augustine, and she was the official county court reporter, having worked 17 years for St. Johns County. She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, with the Rev. William Mooney, pastor, and the Rev. Jeremiah Lambe, associate pastor of the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Augustine, officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine Memorial Park. Eppie Couturier
Eppie Mae Couturier, 80, Palatka, died Jan. 26, 1998, at the Putnam Memorial Nursing Home, Palatka, following a long illness. She was born in Wilkerson, Ga., and she had resided in Palatka for the past 30 years, moving there from Colee Cove. She owned and operated the Colee Cove Store and the Picolata Fish Camp. She later sold those businesses and moved to Cypress Point in East Palatka where she opened the Cypress Point Store which she operated until her retirement. She attended Open Bible Baptist Church, East Palatka.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today at Masters Funeral Home, Palatka, with the Rev. Wayne Wells officiating. Burial was in Palatka Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Couturier was the wife of the late George Edward Couturier, and she was also preceded in death by five brothers, Bob, Leo, Earl, Clyde and Buck Nelson; and by one grandson, Kevin DiCarlo.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Linda DiCarlo, East Palatka; one son, Emory Clayson Grubbs, East Palatka; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mary Gustainus
Mary Irene Gustainus, 84, St. Augustine, died Jan. 25, 1998. Born in Eaton, Ohio, she moved to Central Florida in 1978 from Miami. She recently moved to St. Augustine. She was a Registered Nurse, and she was of the Lutheran faith. She was a member of the Women's Club of Casselberry and the Seniors Church Group.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Winter Park.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Gustainus, Margate, Larry Gustainus, St. Augustine; a brother, James Welsh, Ohio; and one grandson.

Theodore "Brother" Wells, 81, 99 Bridge St., died Jan. 21, 1998, in Flagler Hospital West. He was a lifelong resident of St. Augustine, and he earned the nickname ``Brother,'' being described by his friends as someone with a ``servant's heart who loved helping others.''

Father Emilio Nebiolo, 72, St. Augustine, died Jan. 28, 1998, at the Earl B. Hadlow Center, Jacksonville. He was born in New Rochelle, N.Y., and had resided in St. Augustine since 1991. He was a retired U.S. Air Force chaplain, a lieutenant colonel. He served as a line officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church. He was a member of American Legion Post 37 and the Retired Officers Association.

Louis Wasson
Louis Herman Wasson, 88, St. Augustine, died Feb. 1, 1998, at his home, Lewis Speedway, following a long illness. He was a retired registered pharmacist, who, at the time of his retirement, was the oldest practicing pharmacist in the state of Florida, having worked for more than 50 years. He was born in Cottontown, Tenn., and he had resided in St. Augustine since 1925. He was co-owner of St. George Pharmacy in the 1940s, and he owned and operated his own store, Wasson Drugs and Sundry, for many years. He was a member of the St. Augustine Church of Christ, and he was also a member of the Kiwanis Club and Pacetti Hunting Club.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Christ, 2900 Lewis Speedway, with Ministers Cordell Holloway and Glenn Logston officiating.

Forrest G. Fowler, 77, St. Augustine, died Feb. 3, 1998, at his home. He was born in Bradford, Vt., and he had resided here for the past 2« years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II, and he was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall.
