Johnny "Baby Jack" Manning, 58, Naranja, died Jan. 27, 1998, at his home. He was born in St. Augustine, and had resided in Naranja for a number of years.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church of God in Christ, with Elder E.A. Kelley Jr., pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at Chase and Son Funeral Home chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday.
Survivors include his wife, Lottie Manning, Naranja; brothers, Albert Manning, St. Augustine, Eddie L. Manning, Youngstown, Ohio, Norman Manning, Pleasantville, N.J.; a sister, Geneva Floyd (Mrs. James), St. Augustine; and other relatives.

Fr. Emilio Nebiolo
Memorial services for Father Emilio Nebiolo, 72, St. Augustine, who died Jan. 30, 1998, at the Earl B. Hadlow Center, Jacksonville, will be held at 5 p.m. today at Craig Funeral Home, with the Rev. Father Louis Campese, pastor, Incarnation Anglican Church, officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Those wishing may make a contribution in his memory to St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church, 2746 St. Johns Ave., Jacksonville, Fla. 32246, or to St. Francis House, 70 Washington St., St. Augustine, Fla. 32084.

John Pomar
John F. Pomar, 70, died Feb. 2, 1998, in Orange Park. He was born in St. Augustine, and he had resided in Orange Park for the past year.
Graveside services were to be held at 2 p.m. today at Pellicer Creek Cemetery, with Dr. Tom Neal officiating.
Those wishing may make a contribution, in his memory, to Hospice Northeast, 1400 Old Dixie Hwy., Suite A, St. Augustine, 32086.
Survivors include sons Mark and Tracy Pomar, daughters, Connie L. Tedder, Francine Pearrow, brothers, Joe and Albert Pomar, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Theodore Cowart
Theodore A. Cowart Jr., 73, Naples, died Feb. 3, 1998. He moved to Naples from St. Augustine in 1997, having resided here for 15 years. He worked for the Federal Government for 30 years, the last 25 with the Defense Department, Columbus, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Craig Funeral Home chapel. Friends may call at Craig chapel from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday. Private burial is planned.
Mr. Cowart was preceded in death by a son, Ted Cowart III.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Cleo; three children, Donald, California, Samuel, Safety Harbor, Rose Ross, Naples; two sisters, Vivian Nemecek, St. Augustine, Priscilla High, Fort Lauderdale; a brother, Preston Cowart, Crescent City; and seven grandchildren.
Hodges Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements in Naples.

Mary Dempsey
Mary Carol Dempsey, 32, Kingsland, Ga., died Jan. 31, 1998, in Brunswick, Ga. She was born in Fond du Lac, Wis., and she was reared in St. Augustine. She was a 1983 graduate of St. Augustine High School. She had resided in Kingsland for the past two years, and she had assisted her husband in the painting contract business.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Edo Miller-Dekle-Wainwright Funeral Home chapel, Kingsland, with the Rev. Keith Hamilton officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
A celebration of her life is planned here at 2 p.m. Saturday at 4361 Carter Road. Friends and family are invited.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby Dempsey, Kingsland; a son, Troy Dempsey, Kingsland; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Huck, St. Augustine; three sisters, Cathy Ivory, Alpharetta, Ga., Cindy Sikes, St. Augustine, Anne Vedder, Newport, N.H.; and her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R.F. Wirtz, Fond Du Lac.

Nina Hagan
Nina Shamblen Hagan, 66, Beaufort, N.C., died Jan. 7, 1998, in Morehead City, N.C. She was born in St. Augustine, and she was of the Baptist faith.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace Bible Church, Wildwood Drive.
Those wishing may make a contribution, in her memory, to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, North Carolina Chapter, POB 639, Wilson, N.C. 27894.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Robert Thomas Hagan Jr.; a daughter, Cleo Kersey, Palatka; one son, Tony Lee Kersey, Palatka; a brother, Raymond Shamblen, Charleston, W.Va.; two sisters, Audrey McBride, Dorothy Harding, both of Bunnell; and four grandchildren.

Gusta F. Simmons, 78, St. Augustine, died Feb. 4, 1998, at Flagler Hospital. Arrangements will be announced by Craig Funeral Home.

Gertrude Souder
Gertrude Claire Souder, Jacksonville, died Feb. 4, 1998, at her home. Arrangements will be announced by Craig Funeral Home.

Naomi Washington
Naomi Lee Washington, 34, 740 W. Pearl St., died Feb. 1, 1998. She was a lifelong resident of St. Augustine, and she graduated from St. Augustine High School.
Survivors include two daughters, Danielle D. Washington, Fort Hood, Texas, Destiny Washington, St. Augustine; two brothers, Frederick McKinley, St. Augustine, Allen Brown, Jacksonville; two sisters, Belinda Holloman, Lisa Lewis, both of St. Augustine; one grandchild and other relatives.
Arrangements will be announced by Chase and Son Funeral Home.

Nell Buchanan
Nell J. Buchanan, 96, Minneapolis, N.C., died Feb. 5, 1998, in a Banner Elk Hospital. She was born in Crossnore, N.C., and she was a retired teacher, having taught in the Avery County School System. She was educated at Berea College and Appalachian State University. She was a member of the Minneapolis Christian Church, and she also held membership in the Order of Eastern Star, Mistress of the Mountain Chapter No. 241, Newland, N.C.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Minneapolis Christian Church, with Paul Wilson and Steve Cagle, ministers, officiating. Burial will be in Johnson Cemetery. Friends may call at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Newland, from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made, in her memory, to the building fund of the First Christian Church, 19 Riberia St., St. Augustine, 32084.
Mrs. Buchanan was the wife of the late Wallace R. Buchanan.
Survivors include one daughter, Frances Young, Minneapolis; two sisters, Anne Stanley, Crossnore, Ronnie Bowers, Lancaster, Pa.; three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Florence Colflesh
Florence M.P. Colflesh, 78, Jefferson, Ohio, died Feb. 5, 1998, in the Ashtabula County Medical Center, Ashtabula, Ohio. She was born in Philadelphia, Pa., and she had resided in Jefferson for the past six months, moving there from St. Augustine.
She was an executive secretary for the Pennwalt Corporation, Warminster, Pa., for 22 years, retiring in 1988, and she was a member of Moultrie Baptist Church, St. Augustine, where she was active with several church groups. She was also a member of the Gideons International and the Glenside, Pa., OES.
At the request of the deceased, no calling hours or services will be held at this time.
Those wishing may make a contribution, in her memory, to Moultrie Baptist church, 3699 U.S. 1 South, St. Augustine, 32086; or to the Gideons International, 2900 Lebanon Road, Nashville, Tenn., 37214.
Mrs. Colflesh was the wife of the late J. Byron Colflesh and the mother of the late Jay B. Colflesh.
Survivors include one son, John B. Colflesh, Dublin, Pa.; a daughter, Susan Moravetz, Jefferson; and five grandchildren.

John C. Moore, 73, died Feb. 4, 1998, in Ohio. He was a volunteer at Deaconess Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Monroe, Ohio. Those wishing may make a contribution, in his memory, to Hospice of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Mr. Moore was the husband of the late Mary M. Moore.
Survivors include four daughters, Patricia Donley, Margaret Tuttle, Phoebe Moore-Sharpe, Mary t. Gabrielle; two sons, John and Richard Moore; one sister, Clara Seum; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and other relatives some of whom reside in the St. Augustine area.

Jacquelyn Piercy
Jacquelyn Crosby Piercy, St. Augustine, died Feb. 4, 1998. She was a member of the San Jose Church of Christ, and she was the wife of the late Robert L. Piercy.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Ave., Jacksonville. Those wishing may make a contribution, in her memory, to the American Cancer Society, POB 5355, St. Augustine, 32085.
Survivors include a son, Rodney L. Piercy, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Durwood F. Crosby, Winter Haven; brothers, Duane, Oyd and Owen, Winter Haven; sisters, Judy Davis, Acworth, Ga., Dorothy Barber, Jacksonville; and one granddaughter.

Gertrude Souder
Gertrude "Dollie" Carrera Souder, 92, Jacksonville, died Feb. 4, 1998, at her home. Born in St. Augustine, she had resided here most of her life, before moving to Jacksonville seven years ago. She worked for the Florida East Coast Railway and for the Diocese of St. Augustine, as a secretary. She was a member of Cathedral Parish, and she also held membership in the Catholic Daughters of America, the Cathedral Guild and Altar Society and the Purgatorial Society.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m Saturday at the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Augustine. Burial will be in San Lorenzo Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Yvonne Souder Paffe, Jacksonville, Suzanne Souder Lynch, Portland, Ore.; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Gusta Simmons
Gusta Floyd Simmons, 78, St. Augustine, died Feb. 4, 1998, at Flagler Hospital. He was born in Boardman, N.C., and he was the former owner of White's Auto Stores in St. Augustine and Hawthorne. He was a member of Eliam Baptist Church, Melrose, and he was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Augustine Memorial Park, with the Rev. Dr. Armando Silverio officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Alderman Simmons, one daughter, Carrianne S. Braddock, both of St. Augustine; a sister, Elouise S. Johnson, Elizabethtown, N.C.; three brothers, Grady L. Simmons, Lumberton, N.C., Bobby and Billy Simmons, both of Elizabethtown; three grandchildren, Natalie B. Powers, Robert and Roger Braddock; five great-grandchildren, Jeremie and Stuart Powers, Michael, Brandon and Brandi Braddock, all of St. Augustine.
Craig Funeral Home is in charge.

Ervin Gaston
Ervin F. Gaston, 64, St. Augustine, died Feb. 5, 1998, at his home. A native of St. Augustine, he was a retired painter and attended Hastings Community Church.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Hastings Community Church with pastor Keith Hutchison officiating.
He is survived by two sisters, Christina Goode, Largo, and Shirley Swanson, Hayesville; one half-sister, Iris Woosley, Oklahoma City, Okla.; four brothers, Roy A. Gaston Jr., Gilford and Richard Gaston, all of St. Augustine, and Gene Gaston of Bakersville, Calif.

Marion Currier
Funeral services for Marion T. Currier, 75, of St. Augustine, who died Feb. 6, 1998, will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at the Independent Bible Church with pastor Chuck Lichtenberger officiating. Friends may call at Craig Funeral Home from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday.
