Wilfrid J. Verville, 91, St. Augustine, died March 18, 1998, in Flagler Hospital East. He was born in Lewiston, Maine, and he had resided here since 1973, moving to St. Augustine from West Warwick, R.I., and Lewiston. He was a loom fixer/instructor for Bates Manufacturing in Lewiston.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. today at Croyle Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jeremiah Lambe officiating. Friends may call at Croyle from 5 to 6 p.m. today.

Hattie Altizer
Hattie Mae Altizer, 93, St. Augustine, died March 21, 1998, at St. Augustine Health Care and Rehab Center. She was born in Welch, W.Va., and had lived in St. Augustine for the past 46 years. She was the last survivor of her immediate family, and she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Craig Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Leroy Lewis, the Rev. Jody Booth and the Rev. Roy Morrison officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine Memorial Park. Friends may call at Craig Funeral Home Monday, 6-8 p.m.
She is survived by five daughters, Catherine Riley, Gracie Booth, and Nell Green, St. Augustine, Dorothy Sapp Schwarzkopf, Fort Pierce, and Ida Whiteside, Orange Park; three sons, Walter Altizer, Deltona, Charles Ralph Altizer, Middleburg, and Kenneth Altizer, Valpariso, Ind.; 34 grandchildren, 65 great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.
Helen Antonell
Helen Maria Antonelli, 87, St. Augustine, died earlier this month at Flagler Hospital West. She was born in Helsinki, Finland, and had lived in St. Augustine for the past 20 years. She was a retired technician from the U.S. Department of Public Health, Department of Pathology.
Services will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
She is survived by her stepson, Dominic Antonelli Jr., Washington, D.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

Marjorie Cayce
Marjorie Ruth Cayce, St. Augustine, died March 20, 1998, at Flagler Hospital East. She was born in Litchfield, Ill., and had lived in St. Augustine for the past 18 years. She was a retired supervisor for a drug company, and she was a member of the St. Augustine Ballroom Dance Association, Riverview Club and Memorial Lutheran Church.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Craig Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Kerry Hinkley, pastor of Memorial Lutheran Church, officiating. Friends may call at Craig Funeral Home Wednesday, 5-8 p.m.
She is survived by her husband, Charles, St. Augustine; a daughter, Nancy Rose, Edgewater, Fla.; a son, Ronald Cayce, Canton, Mich.; 10 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Adam Smith
Adam James Smith, 25, St. Augustine, died March 20, 1998. He was born in Geneva, N.Y, and moved to St. Augustine 16 years ago from Newark, N.Y. He was employed at Stewart's Produce.
Memorial services will be held Monday at 4:30 p.m. at Independent Bible Church with the Rev. Chuck Lichtenberger, pastor, officiating.
He is survived by his mother, Cynthia Solana, St. Augustine; and his father, James L. Smith, Asheville, N.C.

Leander "Bud" Crawley, Charles City, Va., died March 11, 1998. He was a former St. Augustine resident, and he was a retired chauffeur.
Funeral services were held in Charles City at Little Elam Baptist Church, with the Rev. Robert W. Young officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Annette Crawley, St. Augustine; one son, Leroy Crawley; a daughter, Novella Brown; one sister, Edith C. Atkins; a brother, John Crawley; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

James Harold McMillian Sr., 36, 1040 W. Fourth St., died March 19, 1998, at the Orange Park Medical Center. He was born in Baxter, Ga., and he had resided here for the past eight years. He was a member of the Alexander Community Temple, Jacksonville.
Survivors include his wife, Bernadette Morgan McMillian, St. Augustine; daughters, Tumekia Morgan, LaKendrea McMillian, St. Augustine; sons, Kendrick and James McMillian Jr., St. Augustine; his father, Sammie L. McMillian, Almo, Ga.; his mother, Geraldine Eddy, Hazelhurst, Ga.; brothers, Alton, Rodney, Jamal, Ricky McMillian, Lumber City, Ga., Franklin McMillian, Ocilla, Ga.; and other relatives.

James Ellis Burkes, 59, East Palatka, died March 22, 1998, at his home, following a long illness. He was born in Macon, Ga., and he had lived in East Palatka for the past 47 years. He was a grader operator and had worked for State Wide Paving, Inc., for many years. He was of the Baptist faith, and he was a member of Moose Lodge No. 1017 of St. Augustine.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today at New Hope Baptist Church, Palatka, with the Rev. Gary Munson officiating. Burial was to be at 3 p.m. today at Oak Grove Cemetery, Lake City.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Christie Burkes, East Palatka; his mother, Lucille McKinnon Burkes, Hollister; three daughters, Judy Christine Cannon, Sylvania, Ga., Deborah Lynn Pacetti, St. Augustine, Dorothy Belle Wessendorf, Lake City; five sons, J.R. Harold Croney, 67, died March 16, 1998. He was born in Queens, N.Y., and he was a former St. Augustine resident. He was a veteran of World War II and Korea, and he was a member of the Rio Rancho Elks Lodge No. 2500, American Legion Post No. 13 and St. Clemente Parish.
Burial was in Santa Fe National Cemetery, New Mexico.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Croney; sons, William and Steven Croney; one daughter, Barbara Verhonich; a brother, John Croney; and four grandchildren.
Erma Engledove
Erma Mitchell Engledove, 72, died March 23, 1998, in St. Vincent's Hospital, Jacksonville. She was born in Madison Heights, Va., and she had resided in St. Augustine for the past 16 years.

Martha A. Knight, 73, St. Augustine, died March 23, 1998, at her home. She was born in Macon, Ga., and she moved to St. Augustine some 30 years ago from Gainesville. She had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and she was of the Methodist faith.

Elmer F. Webb, 77, St. Augustine, died March 23, 1998, at Mariner Health Care. He was born in Schenectady, N.Y., and he came to St. Augustine in 1971 from Cape Canaveral. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy, and he had been employed in employee relations with General Electric for 34 years. He was a member of Beargrass Christian Church, Louisville, Ky. He was a 1941 graduate of Penn State University, and he was a member of Lawrence Lodge No. 708, Erie, Pa.

Rose Marie Wiand, 71, St. Augustine, died March 21, 1998, at the Palm Coast home of her daughter. She was born in Beacon, N.Y., and she had resided in St. Augustine for the past seven years. She retired as a billing clerk for a medical doctor. She was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church, and she was a life member of the auxiliary of the VFW Post 666 in Beacon.
