Thomas "T.C." Adkison, 70, died March 22, 1998, in Columbia Putnam Medical Center, Palatka. He was retired from the Department of Transportation, and he was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, serving on the usher board.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shiloh Baptist Church, with the Rev. Randy Hezekiah Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at Coleman's Mortuary Chapel, Hastings, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, and at the church from 1 p.m. Saturday until the hour of services.
Survivors include his wife, Mary, Federal Point; six daughters, Carletha and Cassandra Adkison, Flora Beauford, all of St. Augustine; Deborah Pelham, Pamela Jones, Hastings, Cynthia Allen, Jacksonville; six sons, Thomas Adkison Jr., Arthur Adkison, Theodore Adkison, all of St. Augustine, Bernard Hardy, Gerald Hardy, both of Jacksonville, Marion Hardy, Glen Burnie, Md.; one brother, James Adkison, Unadilla, Ga.; 37 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Myrtle Sherman
Myrtle Sherman, 96, Elkton, died March 21, 1998, in Flagler Hospital West, following a long illness. She was born in Brundidge, Ala., and she was affiliated with First Baptist Church of Armstrong.
Survivors include one son, David Thornton, Youngstown, Ohio; and a sister, Effie E. Randolph, Armstrong.
Arrangements will be announced by Coleman's Mortuary, Hastings.

John Wilson
John (Pope) Wilson, 74, Hastings, died March 19, 1998, at Flagler Hospital East, following a long illness. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., and had resided in Hastings since the 1940s.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Stephen's United Methodist Church, Hastings, with Evangelist Chris Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at Coleman's Mortuary, Hastings, from 5 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, and at the church from 10 a.m. Saturday until the hour of services.
Survivors include his wife, Rosetta Wilson, Hastings; two daughters, Loretta Moore, Shirley Wilson, both of Hastings; and two grandchildren.

Gloria Dailey
Gloria Victory Dailey, 52, 57 N. Whitney St., died March 24, 1998, in Flagler Hospital West. She was born in St. Augustine, and she returned to St. Augustine six years ago, moving here from Montclair, N.J. She was a member of Restoration Time Deliverance Church, and she was a 1963 graduate of Richard J. Murray High School, lettering in basketball at the school and serving as captain of the team. She was also a member of the Marching 100 Murray High School Band.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Tabernacle Baptist Church, with Elder Frank Watkins officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at Chase and Son Funeral Home chapel from 5 to 9 p.m., today, and at the church from noon Saturday until the hour of services.
Survivors include her mother, Myrtis Dailey, St. Augustine; sons, Victor Dailey, Courtland, Va., Tyrone Dailey, Greenville, Miss.; sisters, Lover Mae Eubanks, Rockledge, Valarie Bailey, Apopka; brothers, Carl Dailey, Toms River, N.J., Sidney Dailey, Jacksonville, Deacon Anthony Dailey Sr., St. Augustine; four grandchildren and other relatives.

Maggie Garris
Maggie A. Garris, 98, Hastings, died March 18, 1998, at the North Shore Medical Center, Miami, following a long illness. She was born in Cummings, S.C., but she had resided in Hastings all of her life, moving to Miami for the past year. She was a member of the Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, serving on the Mother's Board.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Gethsemane Baptist Church, Hastings, with the Rev. Jeremiah Steward, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery, San Mateo. Friends may call at D.A. Boyd and Sons Funeral Home, Palatka, from 5:30-9 p.m. today, and from 9-11 a.m. Saturday; and at the church from noon Saturday until the hour of services.
Survivors include daughters, Iona West, Donna Johnson, both of Miami; sons, Samuel Garris, Raleigh, N.C., Sylvester Garris Jr., Meherrin, Va., Levi Garris, New York, Johnny Garris, Hastings, Leroy Garris, Wilmington, Del.; 21 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Juanita Greene
Juanita Jeanette Greene, 77, St. Augustine, died March 25, 1998, at Flagler Hospital West. She was born in Greenville County, S.C., and she was a retired insurance salesperson. She was a member of the St. Augustine Baptist Church.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Augustine Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tim Weaver, pastor, officiating.
Survivors include one daughter, Eris Ash, St. Augustine; a son, Anthony Greene, Dallas, N.C.; three sisters, Constance Spinks, Enid Nangun, Faye Milem, a brother, Jimmy Greene, all of Rock Hill, S.C.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Paul Haake
Paul Haake, 79, Centralia, Ill., died March 25, 1998, at St. Mary's Hospital, Centralia. He was born in Washington County, Ill., and he had resided in Centralia since 1975. He was a former St. Augustine resident, having operated a bowling alley in St. Augustine for many years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and he also held membership in the VFW, American Legion, DAV and Centralia Moose. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. James Gullen officiating. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. Those wishing may make a contribution, in his memory, to the American Cancer Society.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis Ray Haake, Nashville, Ill., Ronald Paul Haake, Huntsville, Ala.; two stepsons, Dennis and Loren Abernathy, both of Centralia; two brothers, Harold and Eldor Haake, both of Hoyleton, Ill.; a sister, Irene James, Huntsville; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The Irvin Funeral Home, Centralia, is in charge.

Gaye Heaton
Gaye B. Sterne Heaton, 85, Dallastown, Pa., formerly of St. Augustine, died March 26, 1998, in York, Pa. She was born in Gordo, Ala., and she had resided in Philadelphia, Pa., for over 50 years. She was a member of Pilgrim Church, St. Augustine, and she was involved in numerous volunteer organizations in both Florida and Pennsylvania.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, with the Rev. Jay Baines Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, Pa.
Survivors include two sons, Edward B. Sterne, Dallastown, Robert H. Sterne Jr., Harrisburg; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Ervin Hites Sr.
Ervin L. Hites Sr., 79, Lake Hopaticong, N.J., died Feb. 18, 1998, at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, N.J. He was born in St. Augustine, the son of Willis and Ethel Corning Hites, and he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was supervisor of printing for Mutual Benefits Life Insurance Company for 32 years, before retiring in 1979.
He was the husband of the late Virginia Peters Hites. She died in 1980.
Services were held in New Jersey, with burial in Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover.
Survivors include a son, Ervin L. Hites Jr., Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; three granddaughters and one great-granddaughter.

Thelma Marshall
Thelma Marshall, 84, Bunnell, died March 19, 1998, at Flagler Pines Nursing Home, Bunnell. She was born in Alabama, and she had resided in Bunnell for a number of years.
Graveside services were to be held at 1 p.m. today at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Green Cove Springs, with the Rev. E. Bradley officiating.
Chase and Son Funeral Home was in charge.

James McMillian Sr.
Funeral services for James Harold McMillian Sr., 36, 1040 W. Fourth St., who died March 20, 1998, at the Orange Park Medical Center, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, with Pastor Martha Bright of Alexander Temple Community Church officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at Chase and Son Funeral Home chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. today, and at the church from noon Saturday until the hour of services.
Mr. McMillian was employed by the St. Augustine Shores Corporation.

Lest Killian Yensan, 74, St. Augustine, died March 26, 1998, at Flagler Hospital West. He was born in Tonawanda, N.Y., and he had resided in St. Augustine for the past 10 years. He was retired from Data General Corporation, and he was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II. He was recipient of the Croix de Guerre, French medal of honor. He was a member of the United Church, Clinton, Mass., and of the Tonawanda Masonic Lodge F&AM No. 247.
Private services are planned.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine, St. Augustine; one stepdaughter, Kathy Roof, Africa; a son, Lester K. "Chip" Yensan Jr., Charlestown, R.I.; four sisters, Arlene Ackerman, Tonawanda, Doris Musgrave, Viola Feldt, Mirian Yensan, all of North Tonawanda; and two grandchildren.
Craig Funeral Home is in charge.

Sylvia Hahn
Sylvia Hahn, 95, died March 28, 1998, at Samantha Wilson Nursing Home. She was born in Chicago, Ill. and has resided in St. Augustine since 1947.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at Craig Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Craig Funeral Home.
Survivors include one son, George J. Hahn, St. Augustine; one sister, Gertrude Blank, Corona, Calif.; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Lester Yensan
Lester Killian Yensan, 74, St. Augustine, died March 26, 1998, at Flagler Hospital West. He was born in Tonawanda, N.Y., and had resided in St. Augustine for the past 10 years. He was retired from Data General Corporation. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was the recipient of the Croix de la Guerre French medal of honor. He was a member of the United Church in Clinton, Mass. And the Tonawanda Masonic Lodge F&AM #247.
Private services are planned.

George Hastalis
George Hastalis, 80, died March 27, 1998, at his home. He was born Sept. 23, 1917, in New York City. Surviving immediate family are Irene, his wife; his son, Michael and his wife, Sheryl of East Hampton, N.Y.; one daughter, Laura Griffin and her husband, Steven, and grandson Christopher, St. Augustine.
He was inducted into the military in 1942 and discharged on October 19, 1945. During his military tenure as technical sergeant, he was responsible for all food services of a number of bomber squadrons in France and England. George's culinary abilities were always in demand in the New York area. His last position for the U.S. Military was food supervisor at Camp Hero radar base of Montauck, Long Island, until the base was demobilized. He relocated to St. Augustine with his family in 1989.
Also surviving are Constantine and Coula Hastalis of Kankakee, Ill.; Tom and Helen Hasterlis, Saddle Brook, N.J.; Christopher and Nia Hastalis, Valley Stream, N.Y. George was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with Father Nikita Theodosian officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Craig Funeral Home. Flowers are gratefully declined. Those wishing may make a contribution in his memory to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 7 Waldo St., St. Augustine, Fla. 32095.
