Alice Saidler Brough, 61, St. Augustine, died May 14, 1998. Formerly residing in Sayville, L.I., N.Y., she had lived in St. Augustine since 1978.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Grace United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Curtis Norton, pastor, and the Rev. Lucy Norton officiating.

Mrs. Brough was the wife of the last Joseph Brough.
Survivors include her children, Ora Jean Sorensen, Allison Lamont, Joseph and Wayne Brough; a brother, Richard Saidler; three sisters, Jean Jenkins, Lillian Dubatto, Isabel Kangas; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Henry Gillis
Henry L. Gillis, 75, St. Augustine Beach, died May 17, 1998, in St. Augustine. He was born in New Bedford, Mass., and he had resided here for the past 10 years. He was a retired sales manager for Prudential Life Insurance Company, New Bedford, and he worked part time at the World Golf Village and was a carrier for the Upchurch law firm. He was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church, and he was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a life member of the VFW Post 3260, New Bedford, and a member of Elks Lodge No. 829.
Memorial services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anastasia Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in his memory, to the St. Anastasia Catholic Church building fund, 5205 A1A South, St. Augustine, 32084.
Survivors include his wife, Norma P. Gillis, St. Augustine; a son, Paul J. Gillis, Mattapoisett, Mass.; one daughter, Elise O'Kane, Atkinson, N.H.; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services for Gerald Thaddeus Hammond Sr., 58, 6 Rollins Ave., who died May 14, 1998, at his home, following an extended illness, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul AME Church, with the Rev. F.D. Richardson Jr., pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine Memorial Park. Memorial services for M.C. Morgan, 64, St. Augustine, who died May 6, 1998, at Flagler Hospital East, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, at the chapel of Craig Funeral Home.

Gasper Urban
Gasper G. Urban, 75, St. Augustine, died May 17, 1998, at the Ponce de Leon Care Center. He was born in Lynn, Mass., and he was a winter resident of St. Augustine for 10 years prior to moving here permanently in 1995. He was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, and he received a scholarship to play football at the University of Notre Dame, where he played under coach Frank Leahy, and the team went on to win three national championships. After graduating from Notre Dame, he played professional football with the Chicago Rockets.
After his football career, he worked in the motion picture distribution industry for various companies before retiring. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served during World War II and the Korean Conflict, and he was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps with the rank of captain. He was a past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus, Marblehead, Mass., he was a member of the Notre Dame Alumni, the Monogram Club at Notre Dame, and he was of the Catholic faith.

Thomas C. Van Deusen, 62, St. Augustine, died May 16, 1998, at St. Luke's Hospital, Jacksonville. He was born in Springfield, Mass., and he had resided here since 1977. He was retired from the Florida National Guard, and he also served in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 37, a life member of VFW Post 2391, and he was a member of Anastasia Baptist Church.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Anastasia Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ron Moore, pastor, officiating.

Joseph William Adams, 47, Hastings, died May 19, 1998, at his home. He was a lifelong resident of St. Johns County, and he was a dispatcher for Ancient City Cab Company. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Steedly T. Compton, 71, died May 18, 1998, at Shands Hospital, Gainesville. He was born and reared in Jacksonville, and he moved to St. Augustine in 1974. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and he was former owner of Compton's Seafood Restaurant, St. Augustine.

She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Parish, and she also held membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Dubois Society.

Marie Center
Marie Ann Center, St. Augustine, died May 20, 1998, at Flagler Hospital East. She was born in Flagler County, and she was a member of Cathedral Parish.
Mrs. Center, who was the wife of the late John Center Jr., attended St. Joseph Academy. She had resided in St. Augustine since 1939.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Craig Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in San Lorenzo Cemetery. Friends may call at Craig chapel from 9 a.m. Friday until the hour of services.

Wilma Feacher
Wilma Turner Feacher, 82, 98 Keith St., died May 18, 1998, at Flagler Hospital East. She was born in Wadley, Ga., and she had resided here since the early 1940s. She was a member of First Baptist Church and of the Missionary Society.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Alexander Williams, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in San Clair Cemetery, Wadley, under the direction of the Hudson Funeral Home. Friends may call at Chase and Son Funeral Home chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. today.
Survivors include three sisters, Milton Turner, Millard Turner and Alma Davis, all of Wadley; three nieces, Velma Rogers, Marion Johnson, Katherine Swint, and three nephews, Willie Turner, Douglas Davis and Charles Turner.
Frances Bouviere
Major Frances M. Bouviere, 69, died Wednesday at Flagler Hospital. She moved here in 1990 from Severn, Md. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Major Bouviere's military background was in personnel administration, logistics, operation and planning. She previously served as Secretary General Staff for technical matters (electronics), a top secret krypto security officer, then as deputy chief of operations, electronic support command and as a Deputy G-1 personnel at corps level.
She enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1950 as a recruit, and was given direct commission as a second lieutenant, after attaining the rank of sergeant first class in 1954. She permanently retired as a major in 1973.
A memorial Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, with Father William C. Mooney officiating.

Benjamin Horne
Benjamin C. Horne, 72, St. Augustine, died May 21, 1998, at Southside Health Care Center, Jacksonville. He was born in West Palm Beach, and he moved to St. Augustine in 1971 from Warner Robins, Ga., after spending 28 years in the U.S. Air Force. He was past president of the St. Augustine Shores Civic Association, he was a member of the first St. Augustine Shores Volunteer Fire Department and of the VFW. He was an instructor in electronics at the St. Augustine Technical Center for many years.
