Benjamin Hudgins
Benjamin Franklin Hudgins III, 92, St. Augustine, died July 10, 1998, at Samantha Wilson Care Center. He was born in Hampton, Va., and had resided in St. Augustine since 1970. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was retired from the wholesale lumber business, and he was a former vestryman at Trinity Episcopal Parish. He was a member of the Military Order of the World Wars, Confederate Veterans, St. Augustine Officers Club and the St. Augustine Rod and Gun Club.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eleanor Houston Hudgins, and his second wife, Frances Howatt Hudgins. Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Wells, Richmond, Va., Lindsay Timmerman, St. Augustine; one son, Weyman Hudgins, St. Augustine; two sisters, Virginia Johnson, Tulsa Okla., and Lelia Johnstonm, Knoxville, Tenn.; one brother, Hollyday Hudgins, Palatka; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Charles Lewis
Charles Eugene Lewis, 75, of St. Augustine died July 10, 1998, at Flagler Hospital East. He was born in Meridian, Miss., and had resided in St. Augustine for the past seven years. He was retired from the automotive industry, working many years for Volvo and retiring as a central-regional manager for BMW in Chicago. He was a member of the Shores United Methodist Church and the Hastings Rotary Club, where he was the past club secretary. He was a member of the St. Johns Sportsman Club and a former director and founder of the St. Johns Ecumenical Food Bank. He was a captain in the infantry during World War II.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Shores United Methodist Church. Burial will be in St. Augustine Memorial Park. Friends may call at Craig Funeral Home Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Survivors include his wife, Martha; two daughters, Donna Walker, Atlanta, Ga., and Dr. Patricia Poteat, Athens, Greece; and two sisters, Marie Harrington and Mabel Merritt, both of Meridian, Miss.
Henry Aikin
Henry Sanford Aikin Jr., 58, St. Augustine, died July 3, 1998, at Flagler Hospital East. He was born in Jacksonville and had resided in St. Augustine most of his life. He graduated from Ketterlinus High School and the University of Tennessee. He was retired from the Florida East Coast Railway. Prior to his death, he attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He was a member of the St. Augustine Sports Club and Ancient City Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ancient City Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dell Cook and the Rev. Carl Peters, associate pastors of Ancient City Baptist Church, officiating. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Craig Funeral Home.

Eame Terry
Eame Terry, 94, St. Augustine, died July 4, 1998, at St. Johns Health Care. Born in Bath, England, Mrs. Terry emigrated to the United States in 1948. She lived in Washington, D.C. and later New York City, where she was executive secretary for the Lombardy Hotel for more than 30 years before retiring to St. Augustine in 1983.
Mrs. Terry is survived by her daughter, Sheilah Polak, St. Augustine; three grandchildren, Jackie Gosline, St. Augustine, Nick Polak, Fort Lauderdale, Jon Polak, Santa Clara, Calif.; four great-grandchildren, Kimberly and Jesse Gosline, St. Augustine, Emily and Jeffrey Polak, Santa Clara.
Private services are planned. In lieu of flowers, the family asks contributions be made to a favorite charity.

Leroy Gulbrand
Leroy L. Gulbrand, 65, Titusville, died July 10, 1998, at Parrish Medical Center, Titusville. He was born in Denmark, Wis., and he was a retired Brevard County deputy sheriff, having served in Brevard County for 20 years. He was of the Lutheran faith, and he was a former resident of St. Augustine.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the North Brevard Funeral Home, Titusville. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Thomas R. Snyder, 70, St. Augustine, died July 12, 1998, at Flagler Hospital. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., and he came to St. Augustine 10 years ago from Glen Rock, Pa. He was retired owner of Snyder Electronics, Havertown and Media, Pa., and he was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Chester, Pa., St. Augustine Amateur Radio Society and a former member of the IBM Users Group.
Memorial services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Lutheran Church, with Dr. Kerry G. Hinkley, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Jacobs Church Cemetery, Glenville, Pa.

Lola Lacy
Lola Joyce Lacy, 66, died July 10, 1998, at Washoe Medical Center, Reno, Nev. She was born in St. Augustine, and she had been a Lassen County, Calif., resident for the past 19 years, moving there from St. Augustine. She had been employed for 12 years by Management Recruiters as an executive recruiter. She was an honorary member of the Old Crows and a member of both the Florida Association of Marine Explorers and the Methodist Church.
Cremation was held at the Sierra Crematory, Reno, Nev. At her request, no memorial services will be held.
Survivors include two daughters, Catherine E. Glass, Villa Grove, Ill., currently completing her PHO in plant biology at the University of Illinois, Urbana; Julie A. Lacy, Davis, Calif., completing her Ph.D in cultural anthropology at U C., Davis; and two grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a son, Robert A. Lacy; and daughters, Anita E. and Felicia Gail Lacy.

William Seniors
William Collier Seniors, 71, 119 Moore St., died July 9, 1998, at his home. He was born in Jacksonville, and he had resided here since early childhood. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and he was a member of the Disabled Veterans, FAMU Alumni and he was retired from the city of New York as an eligibility specialist. He was a member of St. Paul AME Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul AME Church, with the Rev. F.D. Richardson Jr., pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. Friends may call at Chase and Son Funeral Home chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. today.

Vina Elliott
Vina Elliott, 81, Bunnell, died July 13, 1998, at the Flagler Pines Nursing Home. She was born in St. Joe, and she was a lifelong resident of Flagler County. She was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church, Espanola, and she belonged to the Pallbearers Lodge and the Heroines of Jericho.
Survivors include a daughter, Lillar Walker, one stepdaughter, Delia White, and adopted sons, Eddie Scipp, David Scipp and James Brinkley. All reside in Bunnell.

Willie Elmore Jr.
Willie James Elmore Jr., 50, 129 S. Woodlawn St., died July 14, 1998, at Flagler Hospital East. He was a lifelong resident of St. Augustine, and he was a graduate of R.J. Murray High School. He was employed by Buckingham-Smith Memorial Home for the past 28 years. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, serving on the senior choir.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene C. Elmore, a son, Lucas Elmore, his mother, Murdis Elmore, all of St. Augustine; sisters, Ida Ruth Mobley, St. Augustine, Patricia Herrings, Riviera Beach; brothers, Curtis, Kenneth, Michael and Benjamin Elmore; and other relatives.

Thelma Kelly
Thelma Bragg Kelly, 92, died July 11, 1998. She was born in Tennessee, and she was a longtime resident of Coral Gables. She retired from the State of Florida, after serving many years under Janet Reno in the State Attorney's office in Miami. She moved to St. Augustine in 1985.
Burial of her ashes will be at Woodlawn Park Cemetery, Miami, July 27.

Survivors include two daughters, Melva Irvin, Silver Spring, Md., Jean Panzarino, St. Augustine; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Agnes Meade
Agnes Malinda Meade, 90, St. Augustine, died July 14, 1998, at Flagler Hospital West. She was born in Eastman, Ga., and she had lived in St. Augustine since 1927. She was a member of Ancient City Baptist Church, where she participated in the Keenagers Club. She was also a member of the American Association of Retired Persons, the Amaryllis Garden Club, the Samantha Wilson Senior Citizens Home Auxiliary and the Gideon Auxiliary.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ancient City Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Armando Silverio officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine Memorial Park. Friends may call at the chapel of Craig Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. today.

Gertrude Mosley
Gertrude King Mosley, 71, 1004 Puryear St., Collier Heights, died July 11, 1998, at Flagler Hospital West. She was born in Kingsland, Ga., and she had resided in St. Augustine for more than 40 years. She was a member of Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witnesses.
Survivors include one son, John Henry Mosley, St. Augustine; a daughter, Jacqueline Terrell, Birmingham, Ala.; a brother, Nathaniel King Sr., Gainesville; sisters, Irene Hardy, Doreatha Pope, Louise Whitty, all of St. Augustine; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and other relatives.

Ola Mae Spates, 76, Bunnell, died July 9, 1998, at her home. She was born in Williston, and she had resided in Bunnell since early childhood. She was a member of St. James Baptist Church, serving on the usher's board. She also held membership in the Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include a son, Jabo Spates, Bunnell; daughters, Minnie Lee (Mrs. John) Francis, Miami, Catherine (Mrs. Johnny) Jones, Orlando, Ethel Mae (Mrs. Reuben) Boatwright, Bunnell, Claretha Spates, Bunnell, Celestine (Mrs. Joe) Wyman, Sanford; one sister, Mary Nunn, Trenton, N.J.; and other relatives.
