Pauline Williams of Chipley died July 30 in Chipley.
She had resided in Chipley since 1981, moving there from Bonifay.
She was born in Bonifay on July 8, 1928, to John and Ola (Trant) Wright.
She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Blue Lake Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Gloria Sullivan of Chipley; one step-son, Donald Williams of Bonifay; two step-daughters, Wanda Jowers of White Springs and May June Simmons of Lake City; and five-step grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Aug. 2 at Blue Lake Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Hall officiating.
Burial followed in Bonifay City Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home of Chipley directing.
Viola Wilks, 92
Viola Wilks of Chipley died Aug. 2, in Bonifay.
She was born Feb. 14, 1912, in Chipley, to James Angus and Louella (Ramsey) Wilks.
She was a lifelong resident of Chipley.
Survivors include three sisters,Hazel Watts and Annie Hutchins, both of Niceville, and Bonnie Aukema of Chipley.
Graveside funeral services were held Aug. 4, at the Piney Grove Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home directing.
Judy Lindsey Cook, 54
Judy Lindsey Cook of DeFuniak Springs died Nov. 26 at her residence.
She was born Jan. 14, 1949, in Florala, Ala.
She had been a resident of Bonifay for the past several years.
She was Protestant by faith.
She was preceded in death by her father, Steadman Hoyt Lindsey, and her mother, Ruth (Casey) Lindsey.
She was employed by the Department of Transportation in Chipley.
Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Curtis (Butch) Cook Jr.; one daughter, Kimberly Hughes and husband, Terry, of Dothan, Ala.; one son, Kevin Cook of Bonifay; one daughter-in-law, Amy Cook of Bonifay; two brothers, Glenn Lindsey and wife, Ann, of Memphis, Tenn., and Leonard Lindsey and wife, Betty, of DeFuniak Springs; one sister, Ann Franco of Modesto, Calif.; two grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services were held Nov. 29 in the Magnolia Cemetery in DeFuniak Springs, with Rev. J.C. McLendon officiating.
Clary-Godwin-Commander Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Carl C. Sims, 83
Maj. Carl C. Sims (Ret.) of Marianna died Nov. 21 in Marianna.
He was born in Mt. Pleasant, Tenn. He moved to Marianna earlier this year from Bethesda, Md.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Frances H. Sims of Marianna; two sons, one daughter, one brother, three sisters, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
No local funeral services were held.
Burial was at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C.
James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel of Marianna was in charge of arrangements.
Madge Kent Sexton, 92
Madge Lorriane Kent Sexton of Albany, Ga., died Nov. 23 at her residence.
A native of Washington County, she had resided in Albany since 1991, moving from Marianna.
She was a seamstress, retiring from Wilson’s Men’s Shop.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Marianna.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gat P. Sexton.
Survivors include her daughter, Carlotta S. Sims of Albany; a sister, Myrtle Porter of Chipley; one granddaughter, and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services were held Nov. 25 at Mathews Funeral Home in Albany, with Rev. Bobby Moye officiating.
Burial followed in Riverside Cemetery in Marianna, with Mathews Funeral Home of Albany directing.
Patricia Zurica, 63
Patricia Zurica of Sunny Hills died Nov. 22 at her residence, following an extended illness.
She was a native of New York, moving to Sunny Hills 30 years ago.
She was Catholic by faith.
Survivors include her husband, Salvatore Zurica of Sunny Hills; three sons, Thomas Zurica and wife, Mairlyn, of New York, Patrick Zurica and wife, Robin, of Atlanta, Ga., and Frank Zurica and wife, Michele, of Sunny Hills; two daughters, Antoinette Thomas and husband, Bruce, of Tallahassee, and Teresa Estes and husband, Chad, of Chipley; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Nov. 25 at the chapel of Wachob Funeral Home with Father Paul White officiating
Memorialization was by cremation. Brown Funeral Home of Chipley was in charge of arrangements.
Joseph David Knight, 38
Joseph David Knight of Southport died Nov. 22 in Southport.
He was born Sept. 29, 1965, to Joseph Clifford and Mabel (Denton) Knight, in Panama City.
He was a lifelong resident of Southport.
He was of the Pentecostal faith, and a member of the New Beginning Church in Southport.
Survivors include his mother; wife, Jennifer Knight of Southport; two sons, Joseph Gordon Daniel Knight and Clifford Paul Knight, both of Southport; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Barbara Burroughs of Tampa; one brother, Harold Phillips Jr. of Panama City; one sister, Billie Ruth Segree and husband, Tony, of Mulberry; and a host of other relatives.
Funeral services were held Nov. 25 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gene Keen, and Revs. Joe Denton and Sue Nelson officiating.
