Katie Lee Bowers of Walton County died Nov. 29 in Crestview.
She was born Nov. 15, 1913, in Alabama, to Frank Davis and Allie Lee McCormick Davis.
She was a member of the Gaskin Church of Christ in Gaskin.
She had lived in Walton County for the past 34 years, moving from Samson, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank C. Bowers; her parents; and one brother, George Bane.
Survivors include her brother, James Edward Bane of Darlington; two sisters, Francis Spears of Atta Pulgus, Ga., and Ester Mae Bane of Darlington; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Dec. 2 at the Chapel of Clary-Godwin-Comander Funeral Home in DeFuniak Springs, with Minister Gerald McKee officiating.
Burial followed in the Gaskin Cemetery with Clary-Godwin-Comander Funeral Home of DeFuniak Springs in charge of arrangements.
Frankie Willie Myers, 48
Frankie Willie Myers of Freeport died Nov. 27 at his residence.
He was born Nov. 12, 1955, in the Bethlehem Community, to Forest Myers and Ruth Myers.
He was a member of the Ark of Damascus Assembly of God Church of Freeport.
He had lived in Freeport since 1991, moving from Niceville.
He worked as a truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Nell Myers of Freeport; four stepsons, Robert Cheatham and wife, Sherrill, Larry Cheatham, Roger Cheatham, and Howard Cheatham and wife, Djuna, all of Freeport; one stepdaughter, Brenda Crumb and husband, Harold, of Portland; two brothers, Robert Ear Myers of Bonifay, and Billy Ray Myers and wife, Reese, of Houston, Texas; one sister, Evelyn Mullins and husband, Donald, of Elkin, Nevada; a niece, 12 stepgrandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Dec. 2 at the Ark of Damascus Assembly of God Church in Freeport, with Rev. T.C. Moon officiating.
Burial followed in Hatcher Cemetery, with Clary-Godwin-Comander Funeral Home of Freeport directing.
Jesse E. Hallman, 82
Jesse E. Hallman of Graceville, formerly of Port St. Joe, died Nov. 28 at Jackson County Convalescent Center, following an extended illness.
He was born in Jackson County on May 2, 1921, to the late G.W. and Laura Vickery Hallman.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a retired mechanic with St. Joe Company, following over 37 years of service.
He was a member of Highland View Baptist Church of Port St. Joe.
Survivors include his wife, Vita Merle Brock Hallman; son, Roger D. “Doug” Hallman and wife, Jackie, of Tallahassee; daughter, Sharon Minnich and husband, David, of Nashville; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Dec. 1 at the Chapel of James and Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Anderson officiating.
Burial followed in Marvin Chapel Cemetery with James and Lipford Funeral Home of Graceville directing.
William Joshua Rogers, 24
William Joshua Rogers of Bonifay died Nov. 27 at Doctors Memorial Hospital in Bonifay.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, W.J. Rogers and Mettie Green Webb; and maternal grandfather, Charlie Steverson.
Survivors include his mother, Barbara Steverson Jensen of Bonifay; father, Barney Rogers and wife, Joyce, of Panama City; brother, Jesse Rogers; and maternal grandmother, Mildred Steverson, of Bonifay.
Funeral services were held Nov. 30 at Peel Funeral Home Chapel in Bonifay, with Revs. Mitch Johnson and Ike Steverson officiating.
Burial followed in Steverson Cemetery, with Peel Funeral Home of Bonifay directing.
Ruby Spurlock, 78
Ruby Spurlock died Feb. 1 at her home in Vernon.
She was born July 23, 1925, in Buchanan County, Va., and moved to Florida in 1986.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest Spurlock; a son, Eddie Spurlock of Vernon; and a daughter, Florence Denton of Georgetown; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Feb. 2 in New Hope Methodist Cemetery with Rev. Carlos Finch officiating, and Brown Funeral Home of Chipley directing.
Henryk Wasilewski, 71
Henryk Wasilewski of Sunny Hills died Feb. 2 in Chipley.
He had been a resident of Sunny Hills for the past 10 years. He was a member of the St. Theresa Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Krystya Wasilewski of Sunny Hills; a daughter, Barbara Matlock of Colorado; two brothers, Edward and Chester Wasilewski, and a sister, Jania Jachowski , all of England; and one grandchild.
Rosary was held Feb. 5 prior to the funeral service at St. Theresa Catholic Church with Monsignor Francis Szczykutowicz officiating.
Burial followed in Calvary Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home directing.
Stokes Gilmore, 80
Stokes (Jack) Gilmore of DeFuniak Springs died Feb. 2. He was born June 8, 1923, in Houston County, Ala., to Henry D. Gilmore and Mary Stokes Gilmore.
He was raised by his grandparents, Moody and Hattie Stokes.
Gilmore was of the Baptist faith and attended the Indian Creek Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Pauline Lindsey Gilmore of DeFuniak Springs.
Survivors include two sons, Sherman Gilmore of Fort Walton Beach and Harold Gilmore of Ladson, S.C.; four daughters, Janice Foster and husband, Kenny, and Gale Robinson, both of Eutawville, S.C., Jackie Grant and husband, David, of Vernon, and Glenda Moore-Worley and husband, Steve, of Goose Creek, S.C.; two sisters, Joyce Gilmore of Argyle and Nell Sturgess of Kentucky; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Feb. 4 in the chapel of Clary-Glenn Funeral Home in DeFuniak Springs with Rev. Lonnie Wright officiating.
Burial was in Mossy Head Cemetery with Clary-Glenn Funeral Home directing.
