Lloyd Houston Taylor of Bonifay died May 16 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Ala.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Needium and Elzie Elizabeth Taylor; three brothers, Herman, Albert and Earnest Taylor; and five sisters, Audry Beckworth, Hattie Smith, Vella Stokes, Cumi Skipper and Charity Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances Davis Taylor of Bonifay; brothers-in-law, James Robert Davis and wife, Artie Beth, of Panama City and Otis William Davis and wife, Martha, of St. Cloud; two sisters-in-law, Edna Kate Locke and husband, Jennings, of Bonifay and Bobbie Jean Gilbert and husband, Winston, of Black, Ala.; several nices and nephews.
Services were held May 19 at Carmel Assembly of God Church with Revs. Tommy Moore and Mitchel Taylor officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery with Peel Funeral Home of Bonifay directing.
Denton Harden, 71
Denton Delano Harden of Chipley died May 26 at his home. He was born March 10, 1933, in Columbus, Ga., to Herschey and Lula (Lee) Harden.
He had lived in Chipley for the past eight years, moving from Marianna.
Harden served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He lived in Marianna for 30 years, and spent most of his career in automobile sales.
He was instrumental in the charter organization of Jackson Association of Retarded citizens, as well as a charter member of the Marianna Moose Lodge. He was a past member of the Lion’s Club and the Jaycees of Marianna and Chipley AMVETS.
Harden was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian Harden of Chipley; four daughters, Celita Harden and Cecilia Mongovan and husband, Berry, all of Chipley, Cynthia (Cyndi) Brown and husband, Tim, of Mobile, Ala., and Celeste Pullen and husband, Terry, of Tallahassee; one brother, Bob Harden of Donalsonville, Ga.; three sisters, Betty Bush of Newton, Ga., Mary Sclander of West Palm Beach, Charlott Harris of Seaford, Del., eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held May 30 at Wachob Chapel with Bishop Frankie Leavins officiating.
Burial was in Wausau Memorial Gardens in Wausau with Brown Funeral Home of Chipley directing.
Bobby Anderson, 62
Bobby Jean Anderson of Caryville died May 27 at his home.
He was a member of Vernon Masonic Lodge #164.
Survivors include his wife, Margie Anderson of Caryville; two sons, Bobby Anderson of Tampa and Richard Anderson of Caryville; a daughter, Jackie Foster of Caryville; three brothers, Horace Anderson of Vernon, Cecil Anderson of Apopka and William Anderson of Bonifay; a sister, Mattie Bell Simmons of Vernon, and 10 grandchildren.
Services were held May 29 at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church with Rev. Lavelle Enterkin officiating.
Burial, with Masonic rites, was in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Sims Funeral Home of Bonifay directing.
Joseph M. Webb, 92
Joseph Mannie Webb of Bonifay died Aug. 15 at Bonifay Nursing and Rehab Center.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lula Mae Webb.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Webb and Glenn Webb and wife, Jackie, all of Bonifay; a stepson, Randell Fulford and wife, Bonnie, of Slocomb, Ala., daughter, Shirley Purvis and husband, Terry, of Hartford, Ala.; stepdaughter, Betty Sims of Bonifay; brother, Coley Webb and wife, Audrey, of Panama City; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Aug. 18 in the funeral home chapel with the Revs. Troy Hare and D.L. Steverson officiating.
Burial was in Bonifay City Cemetery with Peel Funeral Home of Bonifay directing.
Michael W. Baker, 43
Michael Ward Baker of Tallahassee died Aug. 8 at Atlantic City Medical Center City Division in Atlantic City, N.J. He was the son of Maxine Mae Ward Baker of Panama City Beach and the late Otis Merritt Baker.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are a son, Dillon Patrick Baker of Little Egg Harbor, N.J., and a brother, Wade Anthony Baker of Tallahassee.
Services were held Aug. 17 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ralph Sutton officiating.
Burial was in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Peel Funeral Home of Bonifay directing.
Zed M. Chambliss, 65
Zed Marion Chambliss of Sneads died Aug. 17 at his home. He was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson County.
Chambliss served in the U.S. Army in Germany for three years. He was a retired instructor at Florida State Hospital and was currently employed with J-trans in Marianna. He was a member of the Sneads First Assembly of God Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Zed Melvin and Mattie Lee Fears Chambliss, and two sisters, Virginia Parish and Dorothy Bland.
Survivors include his wife, Eunice Mae Chambliss; a son and daughter-in-law, Zed Martin and Dee Dee Chambliss; two daughters and a son-in-law, Beverly Gay and Terry Daniels and Serena Lynn Chambliss; seven brothers, Thomas Earl Chambliss and Lamar Chambliss, both of Port Gibson, Miss., William “Josh” Chambliss of Opelousas, La., James Monroe Chambliss of Pattison, Miss., Charles Chambliss of Bascom, Jack Chambliss of Portland, Ore., and Rodney Chambliss of Dothan, Ala.; three sisters, Betty Jean Welch of Sneads, Florence Green of Graceville and Martha Chambliss of Salem Ore., and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Aug. 21 at First Assembly of God Church of Sneads with Rev. Juno Douglas officiating.
Burial, with full military honors conducted by Sneads American Legion Post 241, followed in Dykes Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel of Marianna directing.
Theodore Garrison, 75
Theodore DuBose “Ted” Garrison of Westville died Aug. 20 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Ala.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Swartz Garrison of Westville; a son, Michael Garrison of Orlando; daughter, Elizabeth Garrison Holmes of Sacramento, Calif.; four brothers, William H. Garrison of Mechanicsville, Va., Thomas M. Garrison of Asheville, N.C., Robert D. Garrison Jr. of Georgetown, S.C., and David B. Garrison of Florence, S.C.; and two sisters, Dorothy Nell Doyle of Georgetown, S.C., and Susan L. Runey of Largo.
Funeral services were held Aug. 23 at New Hope Baptist Church with a U.S. Army Chaplain officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery with Peel Funeral Home of Bonifay directing.
