James Robert Dudley Sr. of Bonifay died Aug. 19. He was born Aug. 17, 1925, in Mitchell County, Kansas, to Earl C. Dudley and Anna Belle Taylor Dudley.
He was raised in Clay Center, Kansas. After he graduated from the community high school there in 1943, he served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1949 and owned and operated a dairy farm for several years.
He served as chief of Farmer Programs for the state of Florida with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Farmers Home Administration, for many years. After his retirement, he worked part-time as a greeter in the garden department of a large chain store.
Dudley was a charter member of First Christian Church of Largo where he had served as a deacon and was instrumental in building the church. In recent years, he was an active member of First Baptist Church in Bonifay.
He worked with youth in sporting activities and was a Past Patron of Union Hill Chapter No. 246 and Bonifay Chapter No. 325 Order of the Eastern Star, and was Past Master of Esther Masonic Lodge No. 144 in Bonifay where he was the first Worthy Patron and was currently serving in that station. He was currently serving as Grand Representative of Louisiana in Florida.
He had served as secretary-treasurer of Bonifay Kiwanis Club and was a past president of the Bonifay Hunting and Fishing Club. He also was a member of Cottondale Court No. 74, Order of the Amaranth.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Dudley, and a son, James Robert Dudley Jr., both of Bonifay; a daughter Robin Caudle and husband, Keith, of Roseville, Calif., three brothers, Earl Dudley of Sacramento, Calif., Richard Dudley of Eureka, Calif., and William Dudley of Horseshoe, N.C.; two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted Aug. 23 at First Baptist Church in Bonifay.
Burial was in Bonifay City Cemetery with Sims Funeral Home of Bonifay directing.
Memorial donations may be made to Esther Lodge of Bonifay or the First Baptist Church building fund.
Dallas Finch
Dallas (Ferrell) Finch, 65, died Sept. 2, 2007 at his home, after a long illness. He was born Aug. 10, 1942, in Chipley. He was a life-long resident of Bay and Washington counties. He was retired from Florida Asphalt Paving Company of 33 years with the company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Broward and Martha Finch; two brothers Pat and Junior Finch, and father in-law Joseph Barnes all of Chipley.
Survivors include his wife of almost 30 years, Belinda Finch; one daughter and son-in-law, Katrina and Kevin Tanton of the Sand Hills, two sons, Keith and Kevin Finch of Panama City; five granddaughters; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ross and Betty Finch, Ronnie and Elizabeth Finch, all of Cottondale; two sisters Willie May Morris of Marianna, Betty and husband Winston Spencer of Chipley; two sisters-in-law, Ida Mae Finch Sexton, of Sneads and Emma Finch of Chipley; three brothers-in-law, Don and wife, Martha Barnes, of Chipley, Charles and wife, Marion, Barnes of Colorado Springs, Colo., Dennis Barnes of Columbus, Ga.; and mother in-law, Yvonne Barnes of Chipley, numerous neices and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sept. 5, in the funeral home's Brickyard Road chapel, with the Rev. Tim Hall officiating.
Burial was in Gap Pond Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home of Chipley directing.

Elizabeth A. Barnes, 75
Elizabeth Ann Manning Barnes of Ponce de Leon died March 5 at Chautauqua Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in DeFuniak Springs. She was born in Ponce de Leon Jan. 9, 1930, to Wendell and Maude Cole Manning.
Barnes spent most of her life in Ponce de Leon where she graduated from high school in 1947. A talented seamstress and artist, she was a member of the homemakers' Club and Eastern Star of Ponce de Leon. After receiving a degree in cosmetology, she worked as a hairdresser for several years.
Methodist by faith, she was a member of the First Methodist Church of Ponce de Leon.
Barnes was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William D. Barnes.
Survivors include a sister, Eileen Benefield of Birmingham, Ala., special friends and classmates, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held March 8 in the New Ponce de Leon Cemetery with Rev. Henry Moore officiating and Clary-Glenn Funeral Home of DeFuniak Springs directing.
Eleanor C. Taylor, 61
Eleanor M. Carroll Taylor of Bonifay died March 6 at Doctor's Memorial Hospital there. She was a native of Holmes County and spent most of her life in the Bethlehem community. She retired from Monsanto in Pensacola after 20 years and from Van Heusen Company with more than 10 years of service. She was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, A.V. Dock Carroll and Patricia Carroll.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Taylor; a brother, Charles C. Carroll; three sisters, Jo Sikes, Alice Carroll-Miller, both of Bonifay, and Brenda C. Vickery of Sneads; three stepsons, Marty, Benny and Herman Taylor; four stepdaughters, Barbara Sasser, Brenda Lewis, Cricket Worley and Margie Taylor; 11 stepgrandchildren and nine stepgreat-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held March 8 at Union Hill Baptist Church with Revs. Maurice Jenkins, Huey Hughes and Bill Reeves officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home of Graceville directing.
Billy J. Baxley, 62
Billy Jack Baxley of Bonifay died March 6 at his home there.
He was a member of Carmel Assembly of God Church and of Bethlehem Masonic Lodge #264.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Baxley of Bonifay; two sons, Billy Dewayne Baxley of Chipley and Danny Ray Baxley of Cottondale; a brother, Freddy Baxley of Umatilla; sister, Gail Welder of Micanopy; and five grandchildren.
Services were held March 8 at Carmel Assembly of God with Revs. Tommy Moore and Jerry Moore officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery with Sims Funeral Home of Bonifay directing.
George K. Hamrick, 51
George Keith Hamrick of Bonifay died March 5 at his home there.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and of Esther Masonic Lodge #144.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Mobley, and two daughters, Jessica Hamrick and Sarah Hamrick, all of Bonifay.
A Masonic service was held March 7 in the funeral home chapel.
The funeral was held March 8 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Spicer officiating.
Burial was in Cliffside Cemetery in Cliffside, N.C., with Sims Funeral Home of Bonifay directing.
Bonnie M. Cooper, 71
Bonnie M. Cooper of Pensacola died recently at Sacred Heart Hospital there. She was born Feb. 3, 1934, in Bonifay to the late Kent and Vicie Weeks, and moved to Pensacola in 1959.
She was a 46-year member of Ensley Alliance Church.
In addition to her parents, Cooper was preceded in death by her husbands, Preston Cooper and Dan Futral; a son, Chuck Cooper; and a granddaughter.
Survivors include four sons, Tony Cooper and wife, Dale, Mark Cooper and wife, Beth, Alan Cooper and wife, Stacy, and Jeff Cooper; three daughters, Tina Hart and husband, John, Maryanne Wicker and husband, Scott, Patricia Rollins and husband, T.J.; a brother, Lonnie Weeks and wife, Patricia; a sister, Joann Beall and husband, Edward; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 26 at Ensley Alliance Church with the Rev. Tony Cooper and Pastor Doug Roth officiating.
Burial was in Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens with Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home of Pensacola in charge of arrangements.
