Ila Lee Skinner of Chipley died July 9 in Dothan, Ala. She was born Nov. 29, 1923, to James H. and Rosa (Jordan) Boyd in Reidsville, Ga.
Skinner was of the Methodist faith. She had lived in Chipley since 1976, moving there from Tarpon Springs.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Skinner of Lake Wales and Donald Skinner of Springhill; two daughters, Sandra Perea and Deborah Corbin , both of Chipley; two brothers, Odis Boyd of Palatka and Charles Boyd of St. Petersburg; two sisters, Lois McFather and Mae Dasher, both of Palatka, seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services were held July 12 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Paul Foxworth officiating.
Burial followed in Glenwood Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home of Chipley directing.
William T. Thompson, 77
William Travis Thompson of Bonifay died July 10 at Bay Medical Center in Panama City.
Survivors include two sisters, Jeanette Brown of Texas City, Texas, and Melba Garcia of Lakewood, Calif., and a niece, Deborah Ketchum of Bonifay.
Memorialization was by cremation. A service was held July 13 at Regency Dining Hall with Brother Shep Eubanks officiating.
Sims Funeral Home of Bonifay was in charge of arrangements.
Arley E. Tow, 76
Arley Edward Tow of Chipley died July 13 in Mississippi. He was born Aug. 6, 1929, in Howard County, Ind., to Charles Edward and Anna Bernice (West) Tow.
He had lived in Chipley since 1975, moving there from Jupiter. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the New Orange Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Tow of Chipley; two sons, Rob deViere and wife, Melinda, of Lake Mary and Kirk deViere of Fayetteville, N.C.; a daughter, Vickie Braun and husband, Eric, of Atlanta, Ga.
Memorialization was by cremation.
Memorial donations may be made to the Heart Association.
Doreen Fordney, 73
Doreen Elaine Fordney of Vernon died July 13 at her home there. She was born Feb. 24, 1933, in Waterbury, Conn., to Fred and May (Brown) Rehm.
She had lived in Vernon for two years, moving there from South Florida.
Survivors include three daughters, Laura Landers and husband, Ray, of Vernon, Sharon Shenefield Castner and husband, Gary, of Round Rock, Texas, and Linda Dvorak and husband, Gary, of Brooksville, N.J.; a sister, Lorren of Beverley Hills, nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
Memorialization was by cremation with Brown Funeral Home of Chipley in charge of arrangements.
Helen Williams, 76
Helen J. Williams of Alford died July 14. She was the daughter of the late James Perry and Mae Strickland Bratcher Sr.
In addition to her parents, Williams was preceded in death by her husband, George R. Williams; five sisters, Irene Pilgrim, Joyce Bautista, Myrtle Cogburn, Ruth Mae Simmons and Gertrude Harvell; three brothers, Eugene Bratcher, Albert Bratcher and J.P. Bratcher Jr.
Survivors include two sons, James Bruce Hall and wife, Margie, of Chipley and Warren Smith of Panama City; three daughters, Inez Elaine Ward and husband, Thomas Quick of Alford, Debra Santiago and husband, Juan, of Pensacola, and Wanda Mayo of Atlanta, Ga.; a brother, Quiency Bratcher of Alford; two sisters, Dorothy Wyrosdick and Betty Swearingen, both of Alford, several grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral was July 17 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. George Cooper officiating.
Burial was in Alford City Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home, Maddox Chapel directing.
Coy Steverson, 53
Coy Lamar Steverson of Bonifay died July 13 at Doctors Memorial Hospital there.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Blocker Steverson.
Survivors include his father, Coy Conell Steverson of Bonifay, and two sisters, Judy Bradshaw and husband, James Earl, of Bonifay, Betty Isabelle and husband, Bernard, of Pensacola.
Funeral was held July 16 at Little Rock Assembly of God with the Revs. Thomas Ealum, Josh Garner and David Lamb officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery with Peel Funeral Home of Bonifay directing.
Susan Dady, 51
Susan Deliah Dady of Bonifay died July 15 at her home following a battle with cancer. She was born May 22, 1955, in Geneva County, Ala., to Alene Moody Dady and the late William Owen Dady.
She was a 1973 graduate of Bethlehem High School and a member of the Mt. Olive Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Melissa Tucker of Geneva, Ala.; a son, Matt Tucker and Ashlee Williams, of Bonifay; mother, Alene M. Dady, and maternal grandmother, Susan Rebecca “Mama Sue” Moody, both of Westville; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Shirley Dady, Ronald and Janice Dady, Junior and Mary Dady, all of Westville, Henry and Cindy Dady of Geneva, Ala.; the father of her children, Forrest Tucker of Hartford, Ala.; a special friend/sister, Theresa Howell of Chancellor, Ala., several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral was July 18 at Mt. Olive Assembly of God Church with the Revs. Thomas Ealum and Jim Mashburn officiating.
Burial followed in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing.
