Phil Marshall of Chipley died March 7 at Northwest Florida Community Hospital there.
He was a native of Andalusia, Ala., and a long-time resident of Chipley. He was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine Marshall, and a daughter, Renea Marshall, both of West Palm Beach; a son, Jimmy Marshall and wife, Claretha, of Chipley; a sister, Alberta Marshall of Connecticut; a brother, Hart Marshall of Andalusia; 14 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services were held March 13 at Grant Tabernacle A.M.E. Church in Chipley with the pastor, Rev. Larry Brown, and Rev. S.J. Williams officiating.
Burial was in Northside Cemetery in Chipley with Cooper Funeral Home of Chipley directing.
Rowland Campbell, 93
Rowland Campbell of Vernon died March 20 at his residence. He was born Sept. 9, 1910, in Bloomfield, N.J., to William and Bertha Peer Campbell.
He had lived in Vernon for a year, moving there from Lake Placid. He was of the Presbyterian faith.
Survivors include his wife, Mary E. Campbell of Vernon; two daughters, Mary Joann Weber and husband, Harold, of Vernon and Brenda Kay Federline and husband, Bruce, of Pembroke Pines; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held March 24 at New Bethany Assembly of God Church with Rev. Jerry Leisz officiating.
Cremation followed with Brown Funeral Home of Chipley directing.
Douglas Birge, 80
Rev. Douglas Birge of Chipley died March 21 in Bonifay. He was a retired minister.
A lifelong resident of Washington County, he was born Oct. 13, 1923, in Holmes County.
Survivors include two sons, David Birge and wife, Elaine, and William “Butch” Birge and wife, Patricia; one daughter, Diana Hamm; and a sister, Mary Lee Mitchell, all of Chipley; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held March 15 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Shane Hardesty officiating.
Cremation followed with Brown Funeral Home of Chipley directing.
James Haddock Sr., 68
James W. Haddock Sr. of Alford died March 23 at his residence. He was a lifelong resident of Jackson County and a member of the Sapp Community Holiness Church.
Haddock was a member of Cottondale Masonic Lodge and the Shrine in Panama City. He had worked for several farm equipment companies in Marianna, Panama City and Dothan, Ala., and Automatic Electric in Chicago, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lettie Riley Haddock and a son, Bruce Lindahl Haddock.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene Haddock of Alford; father, Rufus Haddock of Cottondale; five sons, Jerry Conrad Lindahl and wife, Chris, of Plainsville, Ala., Steven Carl Lindahl and wife, Belinda, Len Lindahl Sr. and wife, Susan, James W. Haddock and wife, Shelia, all of Alford, and Joe Haddock and wife, Tammy, of Immokalee; a daughter, Shelby Jean Haddock of Oklawaha; a brother, Tom Haddock of Lynn Haven; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services were held March 26 at Sapp Community Holiness Church with Revs. Cloys Joiner, Houston Obert and Anthony Pitts officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery with Brown Funeral Home of Chipley directing.
James R. Lawrence, 57
James Ronnie Lawrence of Graceville died March 22 at his home there. He was born May 15, 1946, in Chipley.
He graduated from Graceville High School in 1964 and was employed in various positions and spent many years working with his father. The past 15 years were spent in caring for his mother at home.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, Hinton, his mother, Annie Bell, and two sisters, Bobbie and Mary.
Survivors include five brothers and their families: Wayne, Anne, Erik, Marie and Clint Lawrence of West Palm Beach; Jim Lawrence of Graceville; Freddie Lawrence of Chipley; Victor, Brenda and Joseph Lawrence of Moundville, Ala.; Tommy, Elizabeth, David, Kathryn, Natalie and Jacob Lawrence of Fayetteville, N.C.; and numerous other family members and friends.
Services were held March 26 at Piney Grove Cemetery with Southerland Family Funeral Home of Lynn Haven directing.
Mary F. Vaughn, 67
Mary Frances Vaughn died March 10 at her home in Bremerton, Wash. She was born May 30, 1936, in Caryville, daughter of the late Clayton and Bloomie Williams Mitchell.
She worked as a care giver with Catholic Community Services in Bremerton, retiring in 1995. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Howell, and her stepmother, Vermell Hayes Mitchell.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Wayne Kurre of Jasper and Erick Hudson of Bonaire, Ga.; two daughters, Debra and Carol Kurre, both of Bremerton; a brother, Harvie Newton Payne of Dothan, Ala., three sisters, Jeanette Hudson of Bremerton, Evelyn Reeves of Headland, Ala., and Marsha Harris of Vernon; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, April 3, in the Methodist church, located south of Vernon in New Hope.
Annie I. Worthington, 91
Annie Inez Worthington of Tallahassee died March 27 at Heritage Health Care there.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Gettis Worthington.
Survivors include three sons, Doyle Worthington and wife, Francis, of Lake City, William (Bill) Worthington and wife, Jeanette, of Chattahoochee, and Don Worthington and wife, Bonnie, of Tallahassee; two daughters, Wanda Koerner and husband, Curtis, of Alum Bridge, W.V., and Peggy Miller and husband, Warren, of Tallahassee; 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held March 30 at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church with Revs. Charles Stephens and Thomas Tillery officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery with Peel Funeral Home of Bonifay directing.
