Mary L. Shields of Bonifay died March 27 in Bonifay Nursing Home.
She was a native of Holmes County and Baptist by faith.
She is survived by one niece, Constance Poitter of Port Orange.
Rev. Price Wilson conducted the funeral service March 30 at Rodney D. Pittman Memorial Chapel in Graceville.
Burial was in Bonifay City Cemetery with Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville in charge.
Helen R. Powell, 90
Helen Ross Phillips Powell of Bonifay died March 21 at Bonifay Nursing Home.
She was a protestant by faith.
She is survived by a niece, Audrey Hager of Cincinnati, and two nephews, Donald Powell of Ponte Vedra Beach and Andrew Powell of Vero Beach.
Services will be held 7 p.m. March 31 at Sims Funeral Home Chapel in Bonifay.
Memorization will be by cremation with the remains buried next to her late husband, Donald Powell, in the Sellers Cemetery in Caryville.
Theodore Everett, 85
Dr. Theodore Everett of Chipley and Augusta, Ga., died Feb. 6 at St. Joseph Hospital in Augusta following a short illness.
He was born in Washington County June 16, 1918, to Mr. and Mrs. Albert M. Everett.
Everett graduated from Chipley High School in 1936, attended the University of Florida before transferring to Tulane University School of Medicine where he graduated in 1944.
He completed his internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami and entered the U.S. Navy as a Chief Medical Officer aboard the heavy cruiser, U.S.S. Louisville.
Returning home, he completed his residency in neurology in Augusta and was recalled by the Navy a few months after opening his private practice.
He served on the staff of University Hospital and St. Joseph Hospital for 49 years, and was a founder of Doctors Hospital in Augusta in 1967.
He also was a founding member of the Augusta Preparatory School.
He was a member of many medical associations and held many offices in the Richmond County Medical Association.
Following retirement from private practice, Everett devoted his time to growing pine trees in Florida.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Cary A. Everett and Russell M. Everett.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Jean Hall Everett; a son, Ted S. Everett of Chipley; three daughters, Alice Everett Holloway, Jean Everett Johnson and husband, Dr. Walter E. Johnson, all of Augusta, and Ann Everett Rentiers and husband, J. Kenneth Rentiers Jr., of Columbus, S.C.; a sister, Ruby Everett Campbell, and three grandchildren
A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. April 3 at First Baptist Church in Chipley.
Thomas Halstead, 93
Thomas B. (Tom) Halstead of Graceville died in Dothan, Ala., Nov. 28 following a long illness. The son of Jonah Halstead and Eunie Brown Halstead, he was born in Dale County, Ala., and spent his early life there.
He was retired from the U.S. Air Force after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Graceville Lions Club and the American Legion, and was a deacon at the First Baptist Church of Graceville.
Survivors include his wife, Lounette Halstead of Graceville; one son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Catherine Halstead of Dothan; a stepson and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Patricia Ann Williams of West Palm Beach; two step-grandsons, three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Nov. 30 at the First Baptist Church in Graceville with Dr. Jerry Windsor, Dr. Bud Ware, and Dr. Bob Johnson officiating. Burial followed at Magnolia Cemetery in Evergreen, Ala.
Jerry Shiver, 50
Jerry Shiver of Graceville died there Nov. 30. He was born in Dothan, Ala., July 28, 1954.
A lifelong resident of Jackson County, Shiver was of the Baptist faith and was a member of First Baptist Church in Chipley.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Esther Hall Shiver.
Survivors include his father, Gaston G. Shiver Jr., wife, Julie Prescott Shiver, a son, Jamie Shiver, all of Graceville; a daughter, Susan Shiver of Tallahassee; one brother, Jimmy Shiver of Graceville; two sisters, Lydia Catherine DePew of Indiana and Mary Sue DePew of Graceville.
Funeral services were held Dec. 3 at First Baptist Church in Chipley, with the Revs. Michael Orr and Phillip Gainer officiating. Burial followed in the Shiver Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home of Chipley directing.
Memorial donations may be made to the Benevolence Fund for Needy Children at the First Baptist Church of Chipley.
Connie L. Boyd, 59
Connie Lynn Boyd of Chipley died Nov. 29 at her home.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest Robert Boyd of Chipley; a daughter, Cheri Boyd of Vernon; sister, Carol Bent of Vernon; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve Richards of Bonifay, Dick and Libby Birge, Jim and Peggy Birge, and Mike Birge, all of Lexington, Ill., Tom and Elaine Birge of North Port, and six grandchildren.
Services were held in the funeral home chapel Dec. 2 with Revs. Tim Steele and Jessie Stevens officiating.
Burial was in Bethel Cemetery with Sims Funeral Home of Bonifay directing.
Eddie Brewer Sr., 55
Eddie Leo Brewer Sr. of Vernon died Nov. 30 at Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Chipley.
Survivors include his wife, Johnna Brock Brewer, two sons, Eddie Leo Brewer Jr. and Gabriel Elvis Brewer and wife, Aimee, two stepsons, Wesley Henderson and wife, Angie, and Jeremiah Pippin, a brother, Roland Brewer, two sisters, Francis Baxley and Carolyn Tyre, all of Vernon; a grandson, and a step-granddaughter.
Funeral services were held Dec. 4 at Vernon Assembly of God church with Revs. Wesley Hall and Gerald Pippin officiating.
Burial was in New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery with Peel Funeral Home of Vernon and Bonifay officiating.
