Everette Leavins, Sr.
Everette B. Leavins, Sr., 62, of Westville, (New Hope Community) died Monday, May 21.
He was born September 5, 1944 in Holmes County to the late Millard and Beatrice Scott Leavins.
Leavins was a 1962 graduate of Bethlehem High School and had owned and operated Everette Leavins and Sons Well Drilling, Inc. for 35 years.
In addition to his parents, a brother, Hansel Leavins, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Lynn Hinton Leavins; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kim and Jamie Conner and Harley Rae Leavins; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Everette B. Jr. and Connie Leavins, Todd and Chrystal Leavins all of Westville, and Clay Leavins of Jacksonville; one sister and brother-in-law, Mirilyn and Arnold Boyd of Westville; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Perry Wilton and Kathy Leavins of Crestview, Sherwood and Linda Leavins and Mark Leavins all of Westville; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
Funeral services were Thursday, May 24, in the Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Geneva with the Rev. Tom Whiddon officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Ida Methodist Church Cemetery in Holmes County with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing.
The family has requested memorials be made to Mt. Ida Congregational Methodist Church, 2026 Sherwood Lane, Westville, FL 32464, Shands Hospital, 1600 S.W. Archer Road, Gainsville, FL 32608 or the American Cancer Society.

Mary Peters
Mary “Tip” Peters, 94, of Graceville passed away on May 23 at Courtyard Rehabilitation & Nursing Center of Marianna following an extended illness.
Peters was born in Geneva County, Ala. February 20, 1913 to the late Amp and Vallie Thomas Patterson. She was a homemaker and member of Antioch Freewill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by two sons and daughter-in-law, James L. Baxley; Kenneth and Judy Peters; son-in-law, James M. Carswell; and daughter-in-law, Ann Peters.
Survivors include a daughter, Yvonne Carswell of Graceville; four sons, Bill Baxley and wife Betty of Enterprise, MS; Edward Baxley and wife Bessie of Plant City; John Wayne Peters and wife Helen of Marianna; Charles Peters and wife Joett of Noma; 23 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 25, at the Chapel of James & Lipford Funeral Home with the Revs. Jackie Register and Edwin Bell officiating. Burial followed in Antioch Cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home of Graceville directing

Clarence A. Pipkin
Clarence Auston Pipkin, 80, of Bonifay, formerly of Norfolk, passed away May 10. Pipkin was born in Bonifay and was one of nine children. Clarence served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was stationed in Norfolk. He worked for 27 years for Colonial Stories Inc.
After retiring in 1978, he moved back to his hometown. Clarence loved fishing and working in his garden.
He was predeceased by a son, Michael Anthony Pipkin.
Survivors include three children, Charles Edward Pipkin and wife Rebecca of Norfolk, Robert Gerald Pipkin and Deborah Smith and husband, Phillip, all of Virginia Beach; companion, Ruth Grepke of Florida; one brother, John Leslie Pipkin of Florida; two sisters, Martha Mann and husband Bud of Florida and Florence Rutherford of Kentucky; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The funeral was held Monday, May 14, in Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. Burial followed in Rosewood Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Association.

Blondell Justice
Blondell Justice, 87, of Bonifay died Sept. 30 at her home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Justice; one son, Fred Justice; a brother, Odell Whitehead, and sister, Sarah Thomas.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Margaret and Kener Love, and Martha Marrell, all of Bonifay; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Ouida Justice, Edward and Ernestine Justice, all of Bonifay; a sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Doug Griffith of Fort Walton; a daughter-in-law, Trecy Justice of Bonifay; nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren, as well as many special nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral was Oct. 3 at East Pittman Church in Holmes County with the Revs. Hubert Foskey, Herman Sellers and Westley Adams officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery with Bottoms Garden Chapel of Geneva, Ala., in charge of arrangements.

Kina L. Worley
Kina Louise Worley, 75, of Vernon died Sept. 16 at Bay Medical Hospital in Panama City. She was born Feb. 6, 1930, in Chipley to Bud and Nancy (Pitts) Long.
Worley had lived in Chipley since 1993, moving there from Tampa. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a son, David O. Worley of Vernon; two daughters, Nancy Gayle Oswell and Lillie Elaine Blattner, both of Vernon; three sisters, Marie Hayes of Chipley, Bibline Barefield of Alabama and Mathel McFadden of Wausau, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Brown Funeral Home of Chipley was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Martha Collins
Martha Rudine Collins, 76, of Chipley died Oct. 1. She as born Nov. 16, 1930, in Houston County, Ala., to Zimmery and Laura (Swan) Barnes.
She had lived in Chipley for the past 53 years, moving there from Crestview. She was of the Assembly of God faith.
Survivors include three sons, Curtis Thompson and wife, Mary, of Thief River Falls, Minn., Lloyd Collins and wife, Kathy, of Chipley, Reggie Collins and wife, Donna, of Anniston, Ala.; one daughter, Charlotte Haddock and husband, Herbert, of Paxton, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were Oct. 5 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Ricky Lovett officiating.
Burial was in Lakeview Methodist Church Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home of Chipley directing.

Myrtle Howard
Myrtle G. Howard, 87, of Marianna died Sept 29 at her home. She was born in Jackson County and had spent her whole life in that area.
Howard loved the Lord and was Baptist by faith. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Alliance, and the Order of the Eastern Star 134.
She was employed with the Jackson County School Board where she worked in the cafeteria and drove a school bus. “Aunt” Myrtle loved to fish and grow her own garden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Preacher Howard; a son, William Thomas Howard; a grandson, Todd Howard; her parents, Thomas and Rhoda Johnson Gilbert; five brothers, Bill, Earl, Jack, John “Boy,” and Stubb Gilbert; and a sister, Ruby Wiggins.
Survivors include two daughters-in-law, Pat Workman of Marianna and Lynda Godwin of Washington County, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral was held Oct. 3 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Alliance with the Revs. Ed Masterson, Roland Rabin and Gino Mayo officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home, Maddox Chapel, directing.
Memorial donations may be made to Emerald Coast Hospice or Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Alliance.
