Jimmie T. “J.T.” Mills, 73, of Marianna died June 20 in Marianna. He was a native of Chipley but had lived in Marianna most of his life.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Mae Lipford Mills.
Survivors include a son, Hubert Earl Mills of Marianna; a daughter, Joann Peterson of Chipley, one brother, James Roy Mills of Cottondale; four sisters, Lorene Lipford and Emira Lipford, both of Marianna, Marie Wiggins and Clotell Brackin, both of Alford; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral was held June 22 at Salem Free Will Baptist Church in Steel City with Donnie Hussey and Donnie Peacock officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home, Maddox Chapel of Marianna, directing.
Daisy Edna Tate
Daisy Edna Tate, 71, of Westville died June 10 at Wiregrass Medical Center following an extended illness.
She was one of 13 children, and was a member of the Reedy Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Tate; four sons, Noah Ronald Tate and wife, Kathy, of Geneva, Ala., Stanley A. Tate and wife, Tisha, Stephen B. Tate and wife, Gail, all of Westville, and Donald Edward Tate and wife, Kim, of Ponce de Leon; two brothers, R.V. Mims and Leonard Mims; five sisters, Dahlie Clark, Blanch Brock, Willene Boyd, Bamer Thomas and Rethia Nell Ellenburg; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.
Services were held June 12 in the funeral home chapel with the Revs. Kenneth Bradley, Tim Harrison and James Wingard officiating.
Burial was in Poplar Head Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing.
Nathan Wilvan Tidwell
Nathan Wilvan (Cornbread) Tidwell, 61, of Bonifay died June 19 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Ala.
He was the son of the late Ervin and Nettie (Beall) Tidwell.
Tidwell served in the U.S. Air Force.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Tidwell.
Survivors include and his wife, Brenda (Jerkins) Tidwell; a daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Bill Lott of Dothan; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Thomas and Karen Tidwell of Dothan, Dewyatt Tidwell of Bonifay, David and Candice Tidwell of Geneva, Ala.; a brother and sister-in-law, Willard and Christine Tidwell of Geneva; special friends, Paula and Buddy Dunning, and four grandchildren.
Services were held June 21 at East Pittman Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Arrangements were by Sims Funeral Home, Inc. of Bonifay.
Aline Tiller Gray
Aline Tiller Gray, 94, of Chipley died June 24 at her home.
She was born Aug. 30, 1912, in Wausau to Franklin and Kizzy (Gainer) Tiller.
She was of the Assembly of God faith and was a member of the Chipley First Assembly of God Church.
Gray was preceded in death by her husband, John Gray.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Dedge of Chipley; two grandsons, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral was held June 27 in the Chipley First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Dallas Pettis officiating.
Burial was in Wausau Memorial Gardens with Brown Funeral Home of Chipley directing.
Thomas W. Matthews Jr.
Thomas Wilkerson Matthews Jr., 58, of Ponce de Leon died June 21 at his home.
Survivors include two daughters, Sherri Harris of Ponce de Leon and Misty (Matthews) Matthews of DeFuniak Springs; a brother, Billy Joe Matthews of Tallahassee; a sister, Jessie Lee Horne of Niceville and four grandchildren.
Services were held June 15 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jason Campbell officiating.
Cremation followed with Sims Funeral Home of Bonifay in charge of arrangements.
Colon Lee Goddin
Colon Lee Goddin, 65, of Ponce de Leon died June 26 at his home.
He was born Dec. 19, 1941, in Westville, son of the late Wiley Lee and Bessie Lee Morrison Goddin.
In addition to his parents, he was proceded in death by a brother, Otis Goddin, and three sisters, Mella Lee Owens, Betty Jean Manning and Vadalene Owens.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Lou Spencer Goddin of Ponce de Leon; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Calvin and Angela Goddin of DeFuniak Springs and Keith Goddin of Bonifay; a daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Bill Phillips of Ponce de Leon; five sisters, Ella Daniels, Mary Lee Weimorts and Gladys Sapp, all of Ponce de Leon, Louise Goddin of Mobile, Ala., and Joyce Thorne of Red Bay; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral was June 29 at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Larry McGowan and Gerald Brazile officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery with Peel Funeral Home of Bonifay directing.
Maggie Jeanette Dunn
Maggie Jeanette Dunn, 88, of Bonifay died June 24 at Washington Rehab and Nursing Center in Chipley. She was born Feb. 19, 1919, in Whitwell, Tenn., daughter of the late Samuel Lee and Nola Vivian Foust Turner.
Survivors include her husband, William Arthur Lee Dunn of Bonifay; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia D. and David Perry; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorialization was by cremation.
A memorial service will be held at Bethany Baptist Church in Bonifay with the Rev. Ed. Barley officiating.
Peel Funeral Home of Bonifay was in charge of arrangements.
