James E. Everett, 46, of Anchorage, Alaska died July 12 in Anchorage. He was born March 26, 1961, to Bob and Daisy Everett of Fountain.
He moved to Alaska as a teenager and worked at Corporate Express for nearly 10 years.
He loved spending time with his son and fishing.
Survivors include his parents; his son James Lucas Everett of Anchorage; a brother, Richard (Ricky) Everett of Grovetown, Ga.; two sisters, Helen Lewis of Denver, Colo. and Sheila Gilbert of Grovetown.
Graveside services were held July 22 in the Fountain Cemetery with the Rev. Carlos Finch officiating with Brown Funeral Home directing.
Marilyn Exum
Marilyn Exum, 71, of Graceville died July 18 at the Campbellton-Graceville Hospital following a sudden illness. She was born in Houston County, Alabama February 16, 1936 to the late Jasper Joseph and Birdie “Polly” Bowden Vann.
Exum was a Certified Respiratory Therapist. During her career she worked at Flowers Hospital, Southeast Alabama Medical Center and the Campbellton-Graceville Hospital. In 2003, she retired after 26 years from the Campbellton-Graceville Hospital.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Levonne Exum; sister, Jacqueline Vann and brother, Jerry Franklin Vann.
She is survived by her children, Jackie Exum of Graceville; Mike Exum and wife Andrea of Chattanooga, Tenn.; Janet Starling and husband Michael of Headland; brother, James Larry Vann and wife Gloria; sister-in-law, Barbara Dansby Vann all of Dothan; five grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held July 22 at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Hugh Kirkland officiating. Burial followed in Gardens of Memory in Dothan with James & Lipford Funeral Home of Graceville directing.
Kelvin Randle Burns, Jr.
Kelvin (Bo) Randle Burns, Jr., 25, of Wausau died July 19 at his home. He was born February 8, 1982 in Houston, Texas. He was of the Assembly of God Church and member of the Sheppard Gate Church.
He was preceded in death by a brother Alfred Randle.
Survivors include his father, Kelvin Randle Burns, Sr. of Wausau; mother, Abbie McLeod of Fruitwood, Ala. and step-father Gary also of Fruitwood; step-mother Charlene of Wausau; one brother, Christopher McLeod of Villa Rica, Ga.; four sisters, Dyna Strickland and Amanda McLeod, both of Douglasville, Ga.; Kari Sasser of Wausau and Mickey Smith of Portland Ore.
Funeral service was held July 21, at Sheppard Gate Church with the Revs. James Guy and Danny Jackson officiating. Burial followed in the White Double Pond Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home directing.
Vada Lenora Dilmore
Vada Lenora Dilmore, 62, of Graceville died July 10 in Dothan, Ala. She was born July 9, 1945, in Greensboro.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Junior Dilmore of Graceville; three sons, Bill Wayne Dilmore and Virgil Dilmore, both of Chipley, and Jonathan Dilmore of Panama City; one daughter, Virginia Dilmore of Graceville; and two sisters, Ann Brunson and Mary Sue.
A memorial service was held July 13 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Clemmons officiating.
Memorializaion was by cremation with Brown Funeral Home of Chipley directing.
Catherine P. Carswell passes on
Catherine Powell Carswell, 81, of Chipley died July 25 at her home. She was born January 12, 1926 in Deerland, Fla. to Grady Lee and Edith (McCallum) Powell.
Carswell was a retired school teacher, a member of the Retired Teachers Association and the Washington County Historical Society. She was of the Methodist faith and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Chipley.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Judge E.W. Carswell.
Survivors include a son, David Carswell and wife Mary, of Chipley; two daughters, Melody Berry and husband David of Lexington Ky., Carol Bhide and husband Vasant of Jacksonville; one brother William Powell and wife Barbara; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and Aline Strickland.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. and funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., July 30, at the First Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry May officiating. Burial will follow in the Bonifay City Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home directing.
The family is accepting flowers or donations can be made to the Leukemia Society.
Lifton Robinson
Lifton Robinson, 66, of Chipley died Sept. 5 at Washington Rehab and Nursing Center in Chipley. He was a Washington County native and was of the Baptist faith.
Robinson was a graduate of the Roulhac High School class of 1959. A former bank courier, he also had been a heavy equipment operator.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Doris Alice Robinson of Chipley; three daughters and sons-in-law, Lucretia and Cyril Clark of Miami, Carla and Oteh Ojiogo of Houston, Texas, Vonda and Kay and Greg Kennedy of Chipley; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and LaRhonda Robinson of Chipley, Lifton and Serena Robinson Jr. of Graceville, Stephen and Marla Hunter of New Jersey; a god son, Jeremy Merriel; sister, Dianna Eugene Smith of Chipley; 12 grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral was held Sept. 8 at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church in Chipley with Dr. H.G. McCollough officiating.
Burial was in the Northside Cemetery in Chipley with Cooper Funeral Home of Chipley directing.
Maggie Andrews
Maggie Andrews, 80, of DeFuniak Springs died Sept. 22 at her home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Leslie Andrews, and a son, Wayne Andrews.
Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Linda Andrews of DeFuniak Springs, Ebbie Dean and Katherine Andrews of West Palm Beach, Alvin and Raynette Andrews of Windsor, Va., Darrel and Darla Andrews of Monticello; two daughters, Renee Alexander of Arizona and Sheila Andrews of DeFuniak Springs; 22 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held 3 p.m. Sept. 29 at Bonifay Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses with Elder Scott Hatton officiating.
Davis-Watkins Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements and services.
