Edna Ruth Russell Gray, 94, of Marianna died Sept. 24 at her residence. She was born July 17, 1913, in Marianna, second child of Charles Edward Russell and the former Annie Louise Kent.
Gray received her AA degree from Chipola Junior College and was retired from Florida Department of Human Resources. She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Marianna for 82 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louie Minch Gray of Pensacola, whom she married April 25, 1937; and two sisters, Martha Roberts and Frances Konopacka.
Survivors include one son, James Russell Gray and wife, Nancy, of Lawrenceville, Ga.; one daughter, Janet Gray Stephenson and husband, Charles Judson, of Marianna; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was held Sept. 27 in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church of Marianna with Dr. Bob McKibben officiating.
Burial was in Riverside Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home, Maddox Chapel, directing.

Ida R. Swetz
Ida Ruth Swetz, 84, of Bonifay died Sept. 22. She served two years overseas in occupied Japan during WWII.
Swetz was a long-time member of Bonifay Garden Club where she served as president for many years. She also belonged to the Bonifay Woman's Club, and was a member of Bonifay First United Methodist Church and its choir. She was a world traveler, and was a volunteer at Holmes County Public Library.
Swetz was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Martin Swetz.
Survivors include a daughter, Theresa Deweese; stepdaughters, Patricia Staudter, Lucinda Prete and Joan Davis, and 10 grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Sept. 29 at First United Methodist Church of Bonifay.
Wages and Sons Stone Mountain Chapel, Stone Mountain, Ga., was in charge of arrangements.
Mary L. Capps
Mary L. Green Capps, 85, of Marianna died Sept. 26 at Jackson Hospital. She was a native and life-long resident of Jackson County.
A 1942 graduate of Malone High School, he was former owner of Green's Oyster Bar.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Hardy L. Green and James Capps, and a daughter, Martha Lou Green.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann Carroll of Marianna; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services were held Sept. 29 at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Michael Petty officiating. James & Sikes, Maddox Chapel, was in charge of arrangements.
James Robert Walker
James Robert Walker, 61, of Graceville died July 22 at Campbellton-Graceville Hospital following a sudden illness. He was born in Marianna April 19, 1946.
He was a truckdriver with AAA Cooper Transportation for the past 37 years. Robert was a member of Antioch Freewill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Helen Crutchfield.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Faye Walker; a son, Billy Walker and wife Amanda; daughter, Samantha Walker, and Bill Watford, and three grandchildren, all of Graceville.
Funeral services were held July 26 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Don Gainey officiating.
Burial was in Antioch Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home of Graceville directing.
Mary Carolyn Rickabaugh
Mary Carolyn Rickabaugh, 67, of Chipley died July 22 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Ala. following an extended illness. She was born July 21, 1940, in Columbus, Ga., daughter of the late J.D. and Gladys Morgan.
She was a 1959 graduate of Paxton High School in Walton County. She married Paul Rickabaugh in 1965 and they lived in Queen Creek, Ariz., until his death in 1996. She moved to Chipley at that time to be near family.
Mary worked for the Washington County Council on Aging, and was a former owner of the Ivey Cottage Antique Shop in Cottondale. She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Jo Ann Morgan of Lynn Haven; two nephews and a niece, numerous cousins and family members.
Services were held July 24 at Piney Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Jackie Register officiating, and Brown Funeral Home of Chipley directing.
Ellenmarie Theresa Hazell
Ellenmarie Theresa Hazell, 58, died July 25 in Graceville. She was born Oct. 9, 1949, in Glenn Ridge, N.J.
Following graduation from Holy Spirit High School in Absecon, N.J., she began undergraduate work at Centenary College for Women in Hackettstown, N.J., and completed requirements for the bachelor of science in education at the University of West Florida in Pensacola. She later pursued graduate-level studies in instruction design at the University of South Alabama in Mobile.
For 33 years, she lived in Spanish Fort, Ala. She taught in private schools there for eight years before accepting a position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Mobile. She enjoyed a successful and rewarding career as an Equal Employment Specialist and returned to her home in Florida when she retired after more than 22 years of Federal service.
Hazell was a member of the Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church where she served as a Stephen Minister for several years.
Survivors include her mother, Elsie M. Hazell; brother and sister-in-law, Daniel D. and Judy Ann Hazell Sr.; sister and brother-in-law, Elaine H. and Charlton D. Keen; a brother, Arthur C. Hazell III; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Services were held July 27 in the funeral home chapel with the Revs. Julian Walthall, Jackie Register and Huw Christopher officiating.
Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Marianna with Williams Funeral Home of Graceville in charge of arrangements.
Robert (Bob) Jackson
Robert (Bob) Jackson, 89, of Vernon died July 23 at Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Chipley. A native of Selma, Ala., he had lived in Washington County most of his life.
Jackson was a member of McQueens Temple Church in Vernon. He was a retired construction road and bridge employee.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Elsie Campbell Jackson; a daughter, Delois and Deacon Leo Smith, devoted son-in-law; as a son, Herman Cecil Phelt and wife, June, of San Antonio, Texas; as a daughter, Veloria Preyer and husband, Wayne, of Panama City; sister-in-law, Corine Harris and husband, A.D.; of Lynn Haven; brother-in-law, Herman Campbell and wife Deloris, of Panama City; special niece, Cassie Mae Hall of Farmersville, Ala.; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral was July 28 at McQueens Temple in Vernon with Supt. Elder John O. Brown, pastor, and the Rev. Price Wilson officiating.
Burial was in St. Luke Memorial Garden Cemetery in Vernon with Cooper Funeral Home of Chipley directing.
