William Kenneth Burch of Grand Ridge died May 29 in Marianna.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, retired from Florida State Hospital as a psychiatric aide after 16 years of service.
He was a member of Sneads Assembly of God Church where he had served as Sunday school superintendent for 16 years.
He was preceded in death by his father Ruby Burch, and brother Jerome Burch.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice H. Burch of Grand Ridge; three daughters, Angie Brogniez and husband, Mike, of Crestview, Gina Ballard and husband, Tim, of Grand Ridge, and Katrina Nobles and husband, Brad, of Marianna; two step-sons, Leslie Hand and wife, Brenda, of Sneads, and Lester Hand and wife, Katie, of St. Louis, Mo.; two step-daughters, Martha Barfield and husband, Steve, and Marie Hand, all of West Palm Beach; mother, Jessie Lee Burch of Grand Ridge; two brothers, John Marvin Burch and wife, Geneva, of Chattahoochee, and Lafayette Burch and wife, Gwen, of Grand Ridge; one sister, Virginia Blount and husband, James, of Grand Ridge; and 14 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held May 31 at Sneads First Assembly of God Church, with Revs. Juno Douglas and Jerry Trotter officiating.
Burial followed in Carpenter Cemetery with James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel of Marianna directing.
Shellie B. Hatcher, 67
Shellie B. Hatcher of Dellwood died May 29 at Jackson Hospital in Marianna.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Dellwood, retired from Florida State Hospital after more than 22 years of service.
He was a member of Cypress Grove Assembly of God Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howell and Ealier Hatcher; a daughter, Ealier Loney Hatcher; two sons, Lloyd Howell Hatcher and Shellie Bruce Hatcher Jr.
Survivors include his son, Mike Hatcher and wife, Renee, of Dellwood; daughter, Sheila Smith and husband, Larry, of Crestview; brothers, Charles H. Hatcher and wife, Lillian, William H. Hatcher and wife, Barbara, Millard Hatcher and wife, Emalene, all of Grand Ridge; six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held May 31 at Cypress Grove Assembly of God Church with Revs. James Barwick and Ray Johnson officiating.
Burial followed in the church cemetery with James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel of Marianna directing.
Earsel Wallace Young, 84
Earsel Wallace Young of Alford died May 25 at his residence.
He was a native of Delbarton, W.V., but had lived in Alford for more than 14 years.
He was a coal miner and a horseman. He was a member of Salem Free Will Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a son, Conder Young; two brothers, Earl Young and Albert Young.
Survivors include two sons, Darel Young and wife, Mary, of Alford, and Kip Young of Mount Dora; six daughters, Jan Blackburn and husband, Ben, of Alford, Jean Ward and husband, Ben, of Cumming, Ga., Jettie Williams and husband, Jeff, Linda Samuels and husband, Glenn, all of Ocala, Ann Labbe and husband, Bob, of Alpharetta, Ga., Kimberly Koehler and husband, Jesse, of Cumming, Ga.; one brother, Walter Young of Delbarton; three sisters, Maxine Starr, Frankie Hammond both of Delbarton, and Loretta Beale of San Jose, Calif.; 21 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held May 28 at Salem Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Hussey officiating.
Burial followed in Williams Family Cemetery in Alford with James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel of Marianna directing.
Bamma Leona Parker, 90
Bamma Leona Parker of Chipley died May 23 in Chipley.
She was a lifelong resident of Chipley.
She was of the Assembly of God faith, and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Chipley.
Survivors include four sons, Tommy J. Parker of Atlanta, Ga., Donald Parker, Thomas Larry Parker, and Jackie K. Parker, all of Chipley; one daughter, Kathy Jean Gardner; one sister, Mary Clyde Barber of Chipley; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held May 25 in the First Assembly of God Church in Chipley, with Rev. Dallas Pettis officiating.
Burial followed in the Salem Methodist Church Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home of Chipley directing.
William Theo Miller, 93
William Theo Miller Sr., of Chipley, died May 23, in Chipley.
He was a lifelong resident of Washington County.
He was of the Pentacostal faith and a member of Bonnett Pond Church.
Survivors include one son, W.T. Miller and wife, Florene, of Chipley; one daughter, Lora Mae Johns and husband, Louis, of Chipley; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held May 26 at the Sunny Hills Chapel with Revs. John Pettis and Carlos Finch officiating.
Burial followed in the Ferguson Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home of Chipley directing.
Henry J. Galloway, 82
Henry J. Galloway of Hartford, Ala., (Antioch Baptist Church Community), died May 14 at Wiregrass Medical Center in Geneva, Ala., after a brief illness.
He was born Aug. 30, 1920, in Geneva County, Ala., to the late Robert L. and Emma (Shepard) Galloway.
He served his country in the United States Air Force.
He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dessie (Robbins) Galloway of Hartford; one daughter, Virginia Blankenship of Birmingham, Ala.; one sister, Florene Blackburn of Immokalee; two grandchildren, and four grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held May 17 at Antioch Baptist Church with Revs. Moody Faulk and Herb Albertson officiating.
Burial followed in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home directing.
James Milton Watford, 74
James Milton Watford of Graceville died May 22 at the Campbellton-Graceville Hospital following a sudden illness.
He was born in Houston County, Ala., on March 21, 1929, to the late Rev. I.B. and Mary Lou Beall Watford.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He was employed for many years with Gold Kist Peanut Corporation and Graceville Oil Company.
He was recently employed with Qualico Steel Company in Webb, Ala.
He was an active member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his son, Charles Wendell Watford.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Nelma Watford of Graceville; four sons, James “Luke” Watford and wife, Janice, Steve Watford and wife, Judy, Bill Watford and wife, Lisa, Wendell Watford, all of Graceville; three daughters, Brenda Scott and husband, Ray, of Eufaula, Ala., Betty Dienes and husband, Bruce, of DeFuniak Springs, and Teresa Braswell of Graceville; sister, Barbara Taylor and husband, Gene, of Bonifay; 20 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held May 25 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Don Hadden and Rev. Jack Faircloth officiating.
