Mr. Robert Eugene "Bobby" Lewis died December 14, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Lewis was born December 17, 1930 in Appling County, to the late Patrick Ross Lewis and Evelyn Miles Lewis. He was a member of Miles Chapel Baptist Church and was the owner of Oak Dale Motel. He was a retired Bus Driver for the Appling County Board of Education. Survivors Include: Wife, Patricia Ann Lewis of Baxley; Son and Daughter-in-law, Greg and Tanya Lewis of Baxley; 3 Sisters, Vada Conger of Miami, FL, Wynell Sebree of Coral Gables, FL, and Willene Crozier of Brunswick; 1 brother Edsel Lewis of Baxley; 2 grandchildren, Jessa Lewis and Katie Lewis.

Mrs. Louise V. Brown died Friday, December 12, 2008 at her residence. Mrs. Brown was born August 5, 1927 in Appling County, to the late Lonnie Estell Varnadore and the late Mattie Lou Nelson Varnadore. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was retired after 55 years with the Baxley Housing Authority. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey J. Borwn. Survivors Include: Her son and daughter-in-law, Bender and Linda Brown of Baxley; 3 grandchildren, Tash Brown Ramsey, Brooke Brown and Dax Brown and 3 great-grandchildren, Coast, Braz, and Dewey Braye. Jacob Colby Hutcheson died Sunday, December 7, 2008 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Jacob was born December 18, 1994 in Toombs County, to Skipper Duane Hutcheson and Heather Senters Clegg. He was a member of the Covenant Church and a member of the Beta Club, 4-H Club, and Make A Difference. Jacob was a straight A student at Appling County Middle School. Mrs. Brenda Ogden Madan died Saturday, December 6, 2008 in the Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick, after a short illness. Mrs. Madan was a native of Wayne Co, Ga. She attended Unity Church of God and was a CDL, Lead Commercial Truck Driving Instructor for Altamaha Technical College. She was most recently honored by Werner Enterprises as one of four Outstanding Lead Instructors in Georgia, a former teacher of the year and recipient of the Golden Pencil Award. She was owner and operator of "Back to Nature" Clinic in Jesup, GA and was predeceased by her parents: Hoke and Cathleen Ogden. Survivors Include: Her husband of 20 years: William B. Mr. Robert Leon McMillian died Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at his residence after an extended illness. Mr. McMillian was born September 14, 1941 in Appling County, to the late Zary Young McMillan and the late Mary Ann Nipper McMillan. He was a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church where he was a Sunday School teacher and song leader. He was a member of the Exchange Club of Appling County, and served as a Deputy for the Appling County Sheriff's Department. Mr. McMillian was a Veteran having served in the United States Army.
