Annie Loretta King Waldron, 85, of Manor, died Wednesday evening (August 22, 2012) at her residence after a brief illness. She was born in Brantley County to the late Zibe King, Sr. and Alice Roberson King and was the fifth child of nineteen children. It was on her family's farm where she learned about hard work. At a young age she would cook for the family and help tend to all of her younger siblings. Mrs. Waldron graduated from high school at the age of 16 and began working at the shipyards in Brunswick. She lived in Waycross for many years and managed the Dairy Queen in Waycross for sixteen years and also worked at the Dairy Queen in Homerville for fifteen years. Mrs. Waldron moved to Manor in 1990. In recent years, she was a homemaker and always enjoyed farming throughout her life and always believed in hard work. Mrs. Waldron especially enjoyed her children, grandchildren, her cats and cooking. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Quitman Waldron; one son, Ben Waldron; two sisters, Lorena Griffin and Erma Crews; and seven brothers, Leroy, David, Mack, Parnell, Ervin, Junior and Floyd King. Survivors include five children, Paulette Strickland and her husband, Joel of Manor, Anna Shear of Blackshear, Edward Waldron and his wife, Nancy of Manor, Alice Hale and her husband, Delmus of Baxley, Roger Waldron and his wife, Nancy of Manor; 15 grandchildren, Lance Strickland of Brunswick, Rebecca Baldree and her husband, Nathan of Manor, Brian Bagley and his wife, Shannon of Alma, Beth Peacock and her husband, Brian of Blackshear, Clint Waldron and his wife, Mindy of Brantley County, Amie Daniels and her husband, Joe of Warner Robins, Darian Hale and his wife, Lynn of Baxley, Stephen Hale and his wife, Heather of Baxley, Chad Waldron and his wife, Jennifer of Tifton, Theresa Gay and her husband, Ronnie of Bickley, Tasha Carter and her husband, Stacy of Baxley, Jessie Waldron and his wife, Joyce of Brantley County, Amanda Beach of Brunswick, Benjamin Waldron and his wife, Rhonda of Bristol, Michelle Merk and her husband, David of Waycross; 30 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Edward King, Zibe King, Jr., Barney King and Melvin King, all of Brantley County; five sisters, Mary Clubb of Brantley County, Marie Petty of Manor, Lois Corbitt of Manor, Willene Proctor of Atlanta and Winnie Johnson of Yulee, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. A funeral service was held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family received friends Friday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Miles-Odum Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

David E. Miles Funeral Home announces the death and funeral service for Marshall Moore, age 63, of Baxley, who passed away Tuesday in the Carl Vinson Medical Center in Dublin. He was born November 23, 1948, in Greenwood, S.C. and had resided in Appling County, for most of his life. He was employed with Dwain I. G. A in the meat market. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the VFW Post 4583 and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 26. Mr. Moore was a member of Midway Baptist Church and was the son of the late Jessie Lee Moore and the late Billie Hunter Moore. He is survived by his wife, Lorine G. Moore of Baxley; three sons, David Ray Moore of Loctus Grove, GA, Brian Lamar Moore and Wife Pamela of Alma, and Chris Moore and wife, Wendy of Baxley; five grandchildren, Michael Moore, April Moore, Jordan and Joshua Moore and Natahlie Moore. Martha Miller Aulds, 81, passed away Monday, August 13, 2012 at her residence under the care of Southern Care Hospice. She was preceded in death by her son Willie Lee McDonald. Survivors are her son, Jimmy L. McDonald and wife JoAnn of Baxley; a daughter, Jeanette Cannon and Thomas Duncan of Baxley; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other family members also survive. Baxley - Ruby Lee Hutto Rentz, 89, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012 under the care of the Pavilion staff. She was a native and lifelong residence of Appling County; a member of Dunn Memorial Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for 26 years and was a member of the Joyful Sunday School Class. She loved playing the piano and guitar. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Rentz and brother, James C. "Jim" Hutto. Survivors are a daughter, Laverne and Wilton W. McDaniel of Baxley; a granddaughter, Shelia and William Hand of Baxley; a grandson, Gary and Patsy McDaniel of Jeff Davis; four great-grandchildren, Lance Hand, Brett Hand, Jeremy McDaniel and Levi McDaniel; a brother, Charlie and Beatrice Hutto of Jesup; a sister in-law, Kate Hutto and other family members also survive. Daniel I. Miles, age 52, of Baxley, died suddenly Tuesday morning August 21, 2012 at his home. He was a native of Hawaii but had lived in Baxley, most of his life. He was son of the late Floyd Daniel Miles and was also preceded in death by a brother, Reuben F. Miles and a sister Melinda Lee Thompson. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Denise Denner Miles of Baxley, his mother, Patsy Chavis Dyson of Millwood, GA, his step-mother, Coleen Miles of Baxley, a son Daniel Reuben Miles (Loretta) of Baxley, two daughters, Daphne Thomas (Jerome) of Baxley, Debbie Rushing (Jason) of Surrency, two brothers, Michael Miles of New Mexico, Fred Miles of Baxley, a sister Susan Hutchinson (Jamie) of Baxley. Also, six grandchildren survive. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at Miles Chapel Church in Appling County, with Rev. Doug Weisel officiating. Jarod Clifton Taylor, age 24, of Alma passed away Monday, August 20th. He was a native of Ware County but had been living Alma. Jarod was preceded in death by a daughter, Robyn Taylor. He served in the US Army and was a member of First Community Church. Survivors include his father, Burtis C. She was preceded in death by her son, Phillip Luther Lyons Jr. and father, Jimmy Thompson. Survivors are a son, Alex Lyons of Blackshear; mother, June Garner of Baxley; two sisters, Susan Harris of Baxley, and Melissa Williams of Baxley; a brother, James Thompson of Baxley, and a host of nieces and nephews. She was a native of Bacon County, daughter of the late Joe Bynon Martin, Sr. and Okella Mae Taylor Martin and preceded in death by her son, Robbie Little and a brother, Joe (Buddy) Martin.
