Isabell Mincey Daggett, age 81, of Baxley, died Monday, October 8, 2007, in the Appling Healthcare System.
Ms. Daggett was born March 14, 1926, in Toombs County, to the late Boss & Agnes Crosby Mincey.
She was a member of Riverside Baptist Church, and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Daggett; 3 daughters, Dorothy Ann Thomas, Betty Jean Carter and Mildred Lou Stone, all of Baxley; 5 sons, John David Kersey, Willis Clifton Kersey, Bobby Charles Kersey, Jake Earl Kersey, & Roger Dale Evans, all of Baxley; 4 sisters, Bessie Lou Hand, Adell Rentz, Nina Mae Miller & Etta Fay Morris, all of Baxley; 2 brothers, Pat Mincey and Cecil Mincey, both of Baxley; 28 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren also survive.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 11, 2007, 6 until 8 pm at Swain Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 12, 2007, at 2:00 pm, from the chapel of Swain Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in the Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will assemble at the home of Betty Jean Carter, 37 Son Carter Road, Baxley.

Lydia Williams Thornton
Lydia Williams Thornton, age 85, of Odum, died Tuesday, October 9, 2007, at her residence after an extended illness.
Ms. Thornton was born August 8, 1922 in Appling County, to the late Emmett Oliver & Effie Williamson Williams.
She was a member of Antioch Congregational Christian Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Delmus Johnnie Thornton; and a son, James Edward Thornton.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Janice & Eugene Smith of Odum; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Shirley Thornton of Odum; 2 sisters-in-law, Mary Ella Dixon of Screven & Ruth Williams of Jacksonville, FL; 4 grandchildren, Felicia Rogers, Angela Thornton, Dwight Thornton & Ken Thornton; 3 great-grandchildren, Jessica Thornton, Allison Rogers & Alicia Rogers.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 10, 2007, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Swain Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 11, 2007, at 3:00 pm, from Antioch Congregational Christian Church, with the Rev. Doyle Deal & Elder Jerry Lightsey officiating.
Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Jimmy Dale "Buddy" Turner, age 56, of Baxley, died Thursday, October 4, 2007, in the Appling Healthcare System.
Mr. Turner was born October 24, 1950, in Jeff Davis County, to the late Martin Jimmie Lee Turner & the late Lois Nail Turner.
He was a member of the Baxley Church of God.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Sheldon Turner.
Survivors include his wife, JaJuan Turner of Baxley; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Stacey & Rebecca Turner of Hazlehurst, & Brad Turner of Hazlehurst, GA; 2 sisters & brother-in-law, Deborah Lynn & Patrick Stowe of Hazlehurst, & brother-in-law, Richie Teston of Baxley; sister-in-law, Darlene & Joel Thomas of Baxley; grandson, Chase Martin Turner.
Visitation will be Friday, October 5, 2007, 7:00 until 9:00, at Swain Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 6, 2007, at 3:00 pm, from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gary Conger officiating.
Interment will follow in the Baxley Graveyard Cemetery.

Carl Allen Jones, age 64, of Macon died on Saturday, October 6, 2007, from injuries sustained from a house fire.
Mr. Jones was born in Appling County, and had lived in Macon, for 39 years.
He was a Member of Midway Baptist Church of Baxley.
He was a retired electrician and he was the son of the late J. Colon Jones & Minnie Lee McDaniel Jones of Baxley.
He was preceded in death by 6 sisters, Ernestine, Almedia, Virginia, Melba, Linda, Barbara; 1 brother, J.C. Jones, Jr.
Survivors include 3 daughters; Melinda (Barry) Toler of Hazlehurst, Michelle (Eric) Hesters of Hawkinsville, Miranda (Ray) Clowers of Macon: 1 Son, Mark A. (Jessica) Jones of Macon; 11 grandchildren, Allen, Heather, Hunter, Josh, Tiffany, Rebecca, Britney, Taylor, Aleah, Olivia & Chase; 2 great-grandchildren, Ethan & Morgan: 3 sisters, Marie (Paul) Yandell of Henderson, TN, Helen (Max) Gardner of Baxley, GA; Mathes of Hendersonville, TN: 2 brothers, Wayne (Helen) Jones of Baxley & Glynn Jones of Dixon, TN.

James Edward White, Sr.
James Edward White, Sr. age 65 of Baxley, died Tuesday, October 2, 2007 in the Dublin VA.
Mr. White was born August 6, 1942 in Appling County, to the late Tom Dorsey White & the late Okella Johnson White.
He was a member & a deacon of Woodlawn Baptist Church.
He was a Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, and Training Union Director.
He was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army and served in the 1st Calvary.
Mr. White was Master of Holmesville Lodge #195, Royal Arch. #30 Lyons, Georgia, Omega Council #26 and Waycross Commandary Knights Templar #36.
He was a volunteer and coach of Little League for 15 years.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Tom Dorsey White, Jr. & Franklin Darell White.
Survivors include his wife, Myrna Watson White of Baxley; 3 sons & daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Cheryl White of Baxley, Joel & Laurie White of Horn Lake, MS, & Neal and Samantha White of Baxley; 1 sister, Hilda Cichon of Baxley; 2 brothers, Charles White & Randy White, both of Baxley; 6 grandchildren, Bryan White, Josh White, Tyler White, Landon White, Grant White & Olivia White; 22 nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 3, 2007, 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., at Swain Funeral Home.

Stetson Cole Livingston, age 4, of Baxley, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007.
He was born February 5, 2003, in Wayne County, to Robby Elton Livingston & Sonya Lynn Reese Livingston.
Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, 6:00 until 9:00 p.m., at Swain Funeral Home.
The family will assemble at Betty Livingston, 250 Lucky St.
Survivors include: his parents, Robby & Sonya Livingston of Baxley; sister, Kaylie Livingston of Baxley; maternal grandparents, Steve & Sherry Reese of Heflea, Al & Brock Buchanan of Tifton; paternal grandparents, Betty Livingston & the late Lester Buck Livingston.
